His parents have to try and get him to grab onto things, he may even need a small operation on the skin between thumb and finger. I'm thinking this could be an aid in his physiotherapy. Thank you. Hi there. I recommend Washing in cold water and hanging to dry. And also putting it inside a mesh laundry bag so the little loops don't snag on anything else in the wash. I'd recommend only giving this to a baby to play with while they're being watched by an adult. I'd never let them have it unattended or while they're sleeping in their crib. 😊

Hi there. I ended up using a long arm machine and I stippled the entire thing pretty much, I outlined some of the larger applique pieces but otherwise just added in quilting around and inbetween the applique. Thank you for watching my videos!
So question - what foot do you use to sew these? I made my first 2 today and my first attempt sewing the pieces together did not do well. Had to get the sewn ripper out. I changed to my walking foot and that helped but still had to seam rip once more. So curious what foot you use? Ty
You can purchase materials online that are "toy crinkle fabrics" and created for this type of thing. Milk bags are something that I'm using as an alternative, as it is cost effective and essentially preventing milk bags from ending up in the garbage! :) So far milk bags have worked the best (I have tried plastic shopping bags but the plastic is not quite heavy enough to make a nice "crinkle" sound) Perhaps the plastic from a cereal bag would be heavy enough? Although I have not actually tried it.

Yip, my friend didn't realize her tag blanket was in the wash pile that ended up in the dryer, and her crinkle shrank and as a result it doesn't crinkle anymore
Hi there. You cannot put this in the dryer. Aside from the use of the milk bag, you shouldn't put minky fabric in the dryer, or ribbon. It all washes nicely, with cold water, but just lay flat or hang to dry :)

It's similar to a "quiet time" book, if you have seen those before. Something to quietly entertain them. :) They make great shower gifts or additions to gift baskets!
I worry about a sheet of plastic between the fabric pieces for an infant's mouth. Sounds like a choking/suffocation hazard to me should the baby chew the piece open.
You would want to inspect it often as with all items you give to a baby/child to play with. That being said, with all the extra precautions such as sewing the edges/ribbon three times like she did you really shouldn’t have a problem.

I learned this from someone else but you can use a chop stick to make the corners extra crispy when you turn something inside out.

There is actual crinkle paper you can get that is safe to use and you can machine wash and dry.

Suffocating Plastic! Not dryer friendly! Ribbon dye likely not really good for baby to chew! This us terrible.
