- Make It Monday for August 2, 2021
In this video, Sara will be showing how to sew a taggie blanket with minky dot, cotton flannel and ribbons.
For this project you will need approximately 18" x 18" of the flannel, the same of the minky, and 1/3 yard each of 9 ribbons.
We have kits available on the website HERE: cutt.ly/oQk1757

I love that the tags are secured tightly.
Me too!
I want to make these for Hospice. It’s almost reminds me of a fidget blanket.
It could be easily modified to be a fidget blanket! Just make it more lap size and it would be perfect for hospice. What a great idea! Thank you for sharing.
@@BeyondFabric , and thank you. 😀
Valuable information, thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
So, you can back stitch with the walking foot?
Absolutely! :)
Is the flannel prewashed to avoid puckering and shrinking when washing?
Yes. Prewashing gets rid of any sizing agents that were on the fabric as well as preshrinking. Flannel tends to shrink quite a bit. Things may still pucker a little if washed repeatedly, since some fabrics can still shrink ever so slightly over tons of washing, but the initial shrinkage will be taken care of in the prewashing stage.
There was one piece of ribbon that looks to be about 1/4 inch. and that seem to be too narrow not to shred when tugged on over time .Rick rack also I feel should have ends laid side by side instead of end I’ve end to make a larger area of the width sewn. Not criticism just observations.
Thank you for your input, we appreciation any observations. We do burn the ribbons and stitch them twice at different seam allowances, which helps with any shredding. I have been making these for years, and have used anything from 1/4" to 2" and have never had any issues with shredding :) Your idea of putting the rick rack side by side will be easier to sew than on top of each other, definitely not as thick! I hope this gave you some ideas you can use. Happy Sewing!
what is the seam allowance for the final top stitching?
I do it about 1/4" in from the edge. :)
