If I'm not mistaken, the Strange New Worlds Enterprise was designed after this video was released, and it has suspiciously similar impulse engines and nacelle pylons...
It’s funny, I think part of the reason newer fans forget is that in the Kelvin timeline, Enterprise was rather disposable to me, or it felt like it, not so much a character like she grew into in the show and the movies, but one that was more a plot device used to show how bad things are and whatnot.
@@williamcurry4868 even in star trek IV the captured Klingon warbird the bounty was a character. Every sailor loves his ship how actualy bad or good it is, it still remains his ship.
Fascinating! I love the fusion of the TOS Enterprise with the Refit. I would backlight the deflector dish and use the Refit/ Motion Picture font on the top of the saucer dish and the TOS font on the saucer underside. Thanks for this!!!! Now if only I could 3D print this!!!!!!
That is so awesome, a great fusion that brings to life images I’ve wished we’d gotten in the 1st motion picture, especially as I find myself wishing we’d gotten classic series shots, like the warp fly by or orbiting the planet. Well done!
GREAT LOOKING PHASER BANKS!!! I know people love that sloped pylon version of the REFIT, but there is something to be said about the simplicity of original pylons the tv series. I really wish fans could see a version of TOS Enterprise, where the design stays the same but the nacelles get illuminated with TNG nacelle illumination and the lettering on the ship get modernized.
A absolutely positively perfect blend of The Original Series and The Motion Picture era. Astounding work sir. I truly hope this will be the next design.
Well done indeed, I've always enjoyed everything Robzilla, this ranks as one of the best, thg he fusion between TOS & Refit is seamless, as a hands on model builder I'd love to build a kit of this. Keep up the AWESOME work.!!!
Bravo...Have not heard rumors of a reboot....If true. Please do not do what Abrams did and film engineering, communications and the shuttle bay in a brewery. It looked ridiculous.
That is an EXCELLENT merging of the original and ST:TMP versions. The front of the nacelles is the only thing I didn't like about the refit, but the original is still my favorite. Well done!
Pretty design, definitely halfway between the original series and the original movies. If they actually do a reboot, hopefully they will stick to canon and hopefully put someone in charge who is passionate about Star Trek and the original philosophy behind it.
This is a fantastic version of the iconic USS Enterprise. The only thing I would ask is for Robzilla to slim down the nacelle pylons and replace the Refit warp engines with an updated TOS warp engines. Do not touch the Saucer Section, neck, or Secondary Hull they are the best parts of this configuration of the starship.
That is an awesome Design.....The only thing I would change is the Antenna in front needs to be like the 1701 -A No Dish but built into the design of the Hull.........Great Design
If that does not give you a WOODY and a tingle down your spine, you are not a TRUE TREKIE.... Thank -You, Mr. McConnell for you GENIOUS and LOVE for all things TREK. 🤩😘😍🥰🥲
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done and very well executed in every detail and in every way shape and form provided Sir, And I really truly liked the different versions of the Enterprise combined into one very spectacular looking ship indeed; "And let history never forget the name Enterprise!".
Now this is the phase 2 makeover she wanted if paramount wouldn’t spring for the full motion picture upgrade... she’s really really gorgeous, I love the little discovery touches that snuck in too, beautiful!
Perhaps adding backlighting for the defector dish? I know you're using a lot of shadow rendering but the dish is almost impossible to make out at times. Still a really good job.
That's a grand version of the original theme music. Sounds like what they would have done if The Motion Picture had been made at the end of the 60s, and what an odd thing that would have been.
That actually looks close to Gene Roddenberry wanted for the first constitution, but did not have the funds nor the technology to make it come to life.
I’m one of those rare few Star Trek fans who actually doesn’t dislike the Abrams movie ship design style, but I must admit that this design has a lot of charm to it. The only real problems I see are that the deflector dish is very hard to see and that the rounded original Constitution-class Bussard collectors don’t mesh very well in my head with the more squared-off Constitution refit warp nacelles. Other than that, a truly excellent job!
@@ArkansasPilgrim I literally said “doesn’t dislike the Abrams movie ship design.” I actually LIKE the elegant form of the JJ Enterprise. Try reading a little closer next time.
Too bad that not one episode of the original Star Trek series had shown Robert M. April, the original commanding officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, though there was a 2-part episode that showed the other of Jim Kirk's predecessors, Christopher Pike.
Don't you make a plastic model kit of the rebooted Enterprise to kit for the other spin-off of Star Trek with the old original crew in that with all the phasers and photon is in place new warp-drive engines and all
I added that after seeing the original studio model at the Smithsonian. There is an x shaped mirror on a slight angle that rotates among the lights causing the effect. I can only say because of the poor film quality of the original it was not as noticeable. The lights are mostly red and orange, with I believe, 2 yellows. There is 1 blue and 1 green in the circle of lights. I tried to match the Studio Model as best I could.
This starship is a far better design than the 1701-A. Why? Because the refit 1701-A warp nacelles look similar to the Klingon D7 design. Can you imagine a K-D7 with original 1701 warp nacelles. Try creating a CGI version of the D7 with those nacelles. Anywho, how's about a pre-assembled kit of this model with all the lighting, say 33". I don't have the patience and experience to make model kits. I suppose the next model in line with is one is the U.S.S. RELIANT, and the U.S.S. DREADNOUGHT (3 Nacelles).
the model looks ok, i dont like how everyone tries to abominate a well thoughtout and almost perfect design but what can i do to prevent people.... It looks cool i think but the discovery elements gave me goosebumps and not the good kind lol I recommend using cycles and matching framerates btw
OH GOD PICK ONE. I see bits of all three in there. Jeez. If it was #1 or #2, purely, it'd be cool (there is no part of the one that looks like a ford fairlaine that is cool). Mixing them like that, that's just a no. Just no Robb.
Are you serious? ANOTHER reboot? Kurtzman killed Trek. CBS needs to give Trek to Seth MacFarlane who is an actual FAN of Star Trek and will do the brand justice after Kurtzman. The Orville is the best Star Trek show on right now. When are we going to get a third season?

@@Sunnywolf2001 Fair enough. Yeah, Gene got exactly what he wanted in the TOS model of the Enterprise. That's fine. None of it is prime timeline like they want to claim.
