This is almost similar to the movie, The Final Countdown, where the U.S.S. Nimitz encounters a Temporal vortex and brings it back to December 7th, 1941, just before the attack on Pearl Harbor, then yanked back to 1984.
Picard would never alter the timeline unless he had no other choice. For example if the klingons had 2x the amount of ships attacking Archanis and some of those ships were from the 24th century then picard would intervene
In the Andromeda series, the ship goes to the past, arriving hours before the invasion of the Nietzschean empire and discovers that there are twice as many ships and is forced to eliminate half of them.
@@cristianruiz1095 1. It was 3 times the number (1500 Nietzschian ships when history recorded 500) 2. Dylan was trying to destroy them all, only for it to result with 500 surviving. 3. This was one of the really good episodes from season 1. Still enjoy it
Apparently you’ve never seen The Final Countown, where the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier travels back through time just prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor. This little clip was a takeoff on that. Picard didn’t take the Enterprise into the rift. He tried to avoid it but it followed him and swallowed up his ship.
I have seen the final countdown, thank you. I also get that the E-D was trying to avoid being sucked in. That still doesn't change that Starfleet and Picard would not have fired on the patrol. They could have easily absorbed Klingon fire and out run them as well. @@stephenfischer7885
🖖😎👍Very cool and very impressive on your rendition of The Final Countdown in a more futureristic setting indeed in every detail way shape and format provided by you for sure indeed Sir!,👌.
To quote Independence Day: Not Bad. Not too bad at all. 😉 I was waiting to see the Tardis in that time tunnel. hehe Would have been interesting if the shuttlecraft were able to lure a couple of the ships back to the Enterprise. Would it have been as bad or would the attack have been slightly less brutal with a few ships less. 😉
Picard: Sorry Mr. Worf, we just vaporized your ancestor... Tasha Yar: Who's Mr. Worf? Riker: Uh... Sir, Tasha's ancestor just exploded on the USS Ptolemy... It collided with all the Klingon debris we just created. Picard: Who's Tasha?
The rendering of ships , the brighter metallic look of the Enterprise is really nice and the glow of the engines. Everything was much more vibrant. I would like to see what you can do with the damage models in the future. Very well done.
Whoever above mentioned and drama and the Battle of Witchhead, it too has a Vibe of The Final Countdown but almost in reverse since the Andromeda ascendant is on par technologically what's the rest of the Commonwealth ships and presumably the Nietzschean vessels.
Good cinematography and choice of music. Remember, phaser strips start at the edges and swing around the arc of the strip to meet up at the point of departure. You don't just "get a phaser beam" off the discharge point. But I love your work. Keep going!
Wow amazing like some I had issues with Picard doing any thing that would of ultered the time line but the Enterprise being sucked back in to the worm hole before engaging Klingon fleet is a clever save but lol The Enterprise destroying 2 KDF ships and we presume interacting with the other FED ships crew sending a shuttle to the FED starbase one to the planet and to Nebula to scan KDF fleet and probably the KDF fleet scanning the FED shuttle is most definitely going to change time line , my guess is Picard would assess situation gather they were in the past and the means to how they travelled here not wanting to change the tme line not wanting to change the past he would of regrettably left the FED ship to its fate moving away on Low power low warp to a place to lay low once the solution or as it did worm hole reapered set course home lol ...Picard is by the book in that regard, but great animation 👍
As disappointed to not see the Enterprise D tangle with the Klingon fleet as I was to not see the Nimitz and her air wing attack the Japanese fleet. Well done. Maybe a shuttle should have been left behind with an engineer onboard who would have been instrumental in the design of the Enterprise D? : )
I thought that whole scenario seemed familiar. I first watched The Final Countdown back in 1980. I think you did a great job in reenacting it, Star Trek style of course. But, as I recall, when the storm reappeared, the Nimitz turned herself into the storm path instead of being pulled in backwards. Lastly, does this mean that Dr. Laura Brahms had a stake in this, much as CMDR Richard Owens did with both the designing and building of the Nimitz class and the event that would lead to his creating Tideman Enterprises?
The Enterprise D looks great except for one detail. The impulse engines on the saucer section are not lite up so not working. That's a lot of work for the third impulse engine on the Strardrive secondary hull to be doing.
You're forgetting that's the main impulse engine for the ship. The ones up on the saucer are secondary for operation when it separated I suppose they could be also used in conjunction when warp is not possible but their primary purpose is solely in separated operations
decades ago I wrote a story about how the TOS & TNG crews meet & work together basically LURSA'S SON goes back to stop PRAXIS from exploding B'eTOR'S daughter is a time agent for STARFLEET and she's ALEXANDER'S WIFE she gets PICARD & CREW on the rebuilt ENTERPRISE D to go back to stop him the 2 crews meet & then work together
I don't think Picard would risk altering the timeline by destroying the Klingon Battle cruisers. I don't think he'd even try to scare 'em off with the sheer size of the Enterprise especially, if it meant his tactical officer could potentially disappear...or worse.
1.Impressive work on this fanfilm. 2.The department of temporal investigations is going to have a field day with this one
TI is going to have migraines and carpal tunnel due to all the paperwork.
@@michaelkotcher5491voyager level migraines?
The innate complexities of Temporal Mechanics always give me a headache.
@@michaelkotcher5491And it has to be filled out in triplicate…
Actually. This goes against The Prime Directive.
Oddly, I just rewatched The Final Countdown, so this flickering timestorm looked *very* nostalgic and familiar!
This is reminiscent of the Final Countdown movie. Excellent.
My thoughts exactly. I was getting ready for a Boss showdown and then the wormhole appeared.
exactly what I thaught as well
Same thing I thought as well. Now I need to go watch Final Countdown again.
What if the Enterprise D suddenly appeared at the Battle of Station Salem 1?...
🤔😉👍!
Well done! I love the parallels to Final Countdown - epic!
Good references.
All it needs is the screaming sound👍
Ditto😂
That was exactly my thinking.
In space, no one can hear the screaming sound...
Picard: We need to ensure we don’t disturb the timeline.
Worf: Phaser go ppphhhhllllllll!
Excellent work Robb. Pity that the Enterprise-D couldn't have battled the Klingon armada on it's way to Archanis IV.
"Aww they're going to do it again..."
...as a *HUGE* fan of The Final Countdown & *GOOD*, *QUALITY* fan films, *BRAVO* Sir...!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

@@danielseelye6005 Thanks!
Agreed. At the most, Picard would have disabled the Klingon ships' weapon systems, rather than destroy them outright.
@@timonsolus And it would have to seem like a natural phenomenon that the Klingons know about.
Looks like the same idea as the movie "Final Countdown", only with Planet Archanis, instead of Pearl Harbor. Nice Job.
That was the 1st thing I thought when the enterprise d got sucked back to the future just as they were to go after the klingons.
Exactly!!!!
Great Star Trek homage to the Final Countdown movie that starred Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, and Katherine Ross.
Beat me to it.
Wonderful animation, but Picard would not have done anything to alter the timeline.
Unless it's in the Abrams universe or Abramsverse.
Exactly, Picard would never have entered that rift to begin with.
Sounds right. After all, JJ had Spock throw Kirk off the ship and maroon him. How very starfleet of Spock.@@cristianruiz1095

Very intriguing I would love to see more please 🙏I like the idea of a NEXT GENERATION FINAL COUNTDOWN what if
USS Nimitz couldn't outrun this phenomenon - neither could a Galaxy Class Starship. Genius!
more dynamic and action packed than 90% of TNG episodes with none of the endless dialogue. 10/10
Lol
"Why is this bald man talking, where are the explosions!"
The star drive looks longer in one of the shots, it looks cool in my opinion. Great video.
nice work cool music

Impressive work, Mr. McConnell. All it was missing was the narration. This felt like it could have been straight out of TNG.

Fasinating!!!
Under these circumstances you'd let one Klingon ship escape and go home to report that the Federation had a new super-ship.
Interesting, I like the battle scene. Galaxy class vessels don't illuminate the registry area though

Problem if the federation is at war it wouldn’t build a galaxy class cruise ship so it should look different.
Stardate 2241.02? That's about 4 years before the Enterprise B went missing.

Captain Picard would not have interfered with the past like the captain of the Nimitz did.

Wait, did you just tease the Archanis Massacre?
Final count down... kool
that was so cool
Someone watched that movie "The Final Countdown" and was inspired to do a Trek version :)
It has Echoes of The Final Countdown
Topps!
decades ago I wrote a story
about how the
TOS & TNG crews
meet & work together
basically
LURSA'S SON
goes back to stop
PRAXIS
from exploding
B'eTOR'S daughter
is a time agent for
STARFLEET
and she's ALEXANDER'S WIFE
she gets
PICARD & CREW
on the rebuilt
ENTERPRISE D
to go back to stop him
the 2 crews meet & then
work together
Galaxy-Class still the most beautifull Starfleet Shipclass. 2nd is Intrepid in my opinion.
The Final Countdown.... 24th Century version?
I don't think Picard would risk altering the timeline by destroying the Klingon Battle cruisers. I don't think he'd even try to scare 'em off with the sheer size of the Enterprise especially, if it meant his tactical officer could potentially disappear...or worse.
It's too bad they couldn't have turned the ship first and then ejected the warp core into that nebula before they were pulled back home??😮❤😊

Oh sure. Star Trek's version of "The Final Countdown" starring Kirk Douglas.
So this is basically The Final Countdown?
