100% That shot where she's leaving Earth behind and we're traveling with her and she overtakes us choked me up. Why is it that fans doing stuff at home in their spare time can bring us stuff that is lightyears better than anything coming out of CBS right now?
@@deksroning125 Have to beg to differ with you there. That was a full recreation of the "Leaving Dry Dock" scene in TMP. The impulse engines came up and she launched out of Earth orbit lock a gunshot. In seconds we streaked past Mars and Jupiter, a journey that would have taken years with "thrusters".
Love it, especially the rearranged music. And agree with others, when she kicks into impulse it's quite something, as it should be. Goosebumps as she does the 180 flyby at Jupiter and goes to warp.
And if my grandmother had wheels she'd be a wagon. Fresh idea. Very sleek. Love those planetary flybys. Those are always my favorite throughout Trek in space.
Guessing this is a what-if of an evolution between the Constitution refit and the Excelsior class instead of the films' solution of just rechristening an existing ship the Enterprise-A. Not bad. I like it.
What would you call the class? The carrier ENTERPRISE the USN just scrapped was Enterprise Class and was a One of ship. Never had an Enterprise Class starship in cannon Star Trek yet. But on homage to that carrier, and as being the second carrier in the USN named Enterprise. This 1701-A could be an ENTERPRISE class. And be a One of again. But that WOULD be awesome if it had been. Great looking ship. Loved the main deflector AND nacelles. Toro launchers were interesting as well. Didn't see if it was there, but in the middle of the nacelle struts on the Excelsior it had that bubble section. I haven't explored the Excelsior Class enough to know what's there (Engineering perhaps?), but my question is, is a structure like that on this ship? If so, what would YOU make it? Also the impulse engines were sweet. 👍👍👍👍
Love the design, this presentation, and of course, this Star Trek TMP modification to the music! This is pleasing to watch! Thank you, and the designer!
Very impressive ship design. It looks like an upsized version of the Benjamin Franklin class from Ex Astris. I'd love to see the bridge on this. Hats off to the designer and producer of this video.
What a great production - honoring some classic cues, and the ship - it looks Beautiful! I especially appreciate the reveal of the NCC-1701A designation on the Warp Nacelle, the Enterprise lights firing up above the Hanger Doors, the Sunrise above Earth, and the speed by which the Enterprise shoots past the planets. Thank You, Hardwire - I sincerely see improvements upon the Originals!
Paramount missed a golden opportunity when they kept the old design for the Enterprise-A instead of opting for a new one. This only demonstrates what could have been. An outstanding achievement with one of the best entries into warp speed that certainly I've ever seen. Very well done indeed.
The sedition was financial unfortunately, making a new ship was expensive and Paramount didn’t want to pay for it, Star Trek was on one of its many down turns at the time. Sadly the Excelcor model made for Star Trek 3 wasn’t of good enough quality to take on the mane hero role.....that was real gated to low res TV work after the film, but then extensively reworked for Star Trek 6 and again for Generations.
This misses the entire point of why Starfleet gave Kirk another example of the Enterprise-class vessels: He was being punished, but subtly. He could have been given any class he wanted, as an admiral; but as a captain, he had to take command of what he was given: a slowly-being-outdated vessel full of problems from being upgraded as far as they could, with him and his crew expected to sort out all the problems on their own. Instead, Sulu was given the top ship of the line for the time. And while he did save the Earth from the Probe, as he had done with V'ger, it's possible that, if he hadn't had to save Spock and get the original Enterprise destroyed, he might have been assigned something like the 1701-A we see here instead in the fullness of time. The problems with Paramount aside, and everything else, this is a beautiful ship design. A few minor elements I personally would have changed, but even apart from that, she's a beauty. Kodos to those who dreamed her into existence.
Nicely done. I'd seen this design some time ago; I remember thinking that there wasn't a bad looking angle from which to view it, and by golly, so it is.
I usually don't like when things like this are produced that don't line up with canon, but I definitely have to make an exception with this. This is a great evolution of the Constitution class refit and a very nice intermediate step to the Excelsior class. Well done!!!
I have to say very impressive and out of the box thinking. The design is sleek and smooth. It would be nice if somehow she was Cannon. I love it and the flybys, so well done. It really nice to see someone take the idea and use it. Great job!
Wow, THIS should’ve been what we got as the Enterprise C design wise rather than the odd looking C we actually got in TNG. I feel this design fits much better between the B and D.
I looked @ the Home button on my iPhone & wondered “which planet’s that?” 🤣 I *luuuuuv* the score from the original movies! & the “musical reveal” sting too!
You can see the Galaxy class and intrepid class , design already coming fourth. Nice.
You really achieved that low long look of the excelsior while maintaining the Pegasus look of the refit constitution class. So nice
"Pegasus look"
I like that
Me too like that
Thats a beautiful hybrid of the Constitution and Excelsior classes. Well done!
But who needs an Excelsior? I would choose THIS ship!
Should be the ''B''
Although it looks nothing like the Enterprise A, it is a stunning and sexy ship, OMG it's just absolutely beautiful. Also the warp effect was amazing.
When she speeds off at full impulse and the music kicks up, that was BOSS
It wasn't full impulse. It was thrusters at best. Impulse engines allow speeds of at least 75 000 km/s.
@@deksroning125 the back red lights glowed, thats impulse....not that it matters

A point between the refit Conny clasds and the Excelsior-seems quite a logical step and very beautifully realised.
Imagine if they really did make this the Big A and just boost the size and make each vessel more elegant
The question is: Do you really need the Excelsior with this ship?
I love how she's like a 'younger sister' to the Excelsior class, it's a perfect blend with the Constitution, smaller, sleeker, probably faster.
Guessing this is a what-if of an evolution between the Constitution refit and the Excelsior class instead of the films' solution of just rechristening an existing ship the Enterprise-A. Not bad. I like it.
Spot on my friend. Pinned because a lot of people don't get what this is supposed to be.
Starfleet would wind up deciding the frame was just too small for future needs which is why they made few of these and 1.2 billion excelsior class.
@@hardwire5000 the design is excellent.

Looks like the USS Excelsior and USS Enterprise had a baby
Pinned because this has to be the most common comment on here :)
@@hardwire5000 what's the name of this ship class?
Also because it looks more advanced than either, so it's like the next generation (no pun intended) of starship.
@@OptimusWombat I think Perdriau class :)

It deserves its own ship class what about the Spencer Class dedicated to the man who designed this beautiful ship
I love it man
the Spencer class!
This ship is so beautiful that if it was ever on Star Trek Online, I’d leap at the chance to fly her.
U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701- A a Spencer Class Starship rolls right off the Tongue like it

Beautiful alternative design and great job with the digital animation and music adaptation. Bravo!
Beautiful. Wow. Breathtaking. Spectacular. Love the music.
Beautiful design. A mixture of the classic and more modern cinema fleet. Great video as well.
What a starship and the musical score ties right with it.
Love the esthetic and graphic and lighting are incredible
Wow fantastic video of Spencer's Enterprise-A, I would love this to have been the ENTEPRISE-B in generations.
Really good looking Enterprise.
That is such a beautiful ship. What would be nice is to be able to see what the bridge would look like.
MY GOD! THAT IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! WELL DONE! SEND THIS TO JJ ABRAMS WITH A NOTE ATTACHED THAT SAYS, "THIS IS HOW YOU DESIGN A F*****G! STARSHIP!
Thanks! It's really good to know that I'm not the ONLY ONE who just can't 'appreciate' Mr. Abrams, 're-imagined' USS Enterprise.
I was almost mad, but then I read the description. Good job.
The more I look at this ship, the more I want it to be cannon.
Captain Spock: "Mr. Perdriau, you may...indulge yourself."
Mr. Perdreiau: "(Big grin)...Aye, sir!"
BEAUTIFUL !
I love what you did with the music! Very, very well researched orchestration.
Can't wait to see what B,C, and D look like!
May be an unpopular opinion but I've always felt the Galaxy class was one of the worst looking ship designs in trek.
