Gonna be honest: I will always be partial to the refit Constitution-class - it's my favorite ship in Star Trek. But if this had been the new Enterprise from Voyage Home onwards, I would've been perfectly happy. She's sleek, well-proportioned and definitely shows forward progression in Starfleet. While it's a shame Spencer's design never saw canon, it's still a magnificent ship. Hell, if it showed up as a ship in Star Trek Online, I'd buy three.

When next generation came out when I saw the first ship design on a cereal box I was highly thinking the designers where high on the space atmosphere. I really wish the D would have been close to this.. other than the NX-01 this has to be one of my favorites..WELL DONE

Next Generation is far from my favorite iteration of Star Trek - for me nothing will ever even remotely compare to the classic original - but the theme music from First Contact chosen here to accompany this gorgeously designed vessel does happen to be my favorite Star Trek theme of all.

I completely agree, the Spencer looks more advanced than the Excelsior, and is much more balanced, streamlined and proportional. The Spencer seems to me to fit in much better between the Excelsior and Ambassador (my number one all-time favorite Trek starship class design by the way).
..interesting concept the sunken bridge. I'd hate to be the crewman who has to clean the area around the deflector dish, but that's with almost any starship design. I suppose the area around the impulse engines won't get too hot

I know some people think the deflector dish is too big. I don't I think it looks good. The only change I would make is have some red in it around the edges. But other than that I think it's a really nice ship, sleek like a formula one car.
I would slightly alter the engineering hull to either make the nav deflector dish round or oval, current one looks partially obscured by hull on top section.
Nice, but I guess Kirk liked his old Constitution class since he grew up on it, although on the refit he did not know a few areas since the ship had been remodeled and can't fire phasers at warp speed...But most important is all Villains knew Kirks ship, and wanted that ship destroyed or so damaged to capture it and make a trophy for their home world...

I would have preferred this to be the Enterprise D then that oversized monster they created for the TV show. It flows better to what would become the Enterprise E IMHO. It's a really good looking ship..
It's supposed to be a hypothetical Enterprise A if the production of ST IV/V didn't cut costs and simply re-use the original model with just a change in decals.
Looks awesome man! But one thing. The bridge window is sunken in a little. Wouldn't it be a little hard to see over that slight wall if that is indeed a window?
I got a problem with the bridge being suck so low which restricts visibility of front viewer. Same with what I assume is the rear observation deck. There is no point in having view ports if they are even partially obstructed.
I was thinking the same thing, I would had added at least one more tube in that launcher since it's so wide. It seems a bit too wide for only 2 launchers and needs at least one more, two might be better. He could easily add one or two more tubes to it and the explanation could easily be that the launcher assembly was deliberately made with room for added tubes if needed or extra tubes were part of planned upgrades to the design. This could be a Flight I design with Flight IIs getting an extra tube or two from the outset and the Flight Is would get the extra tube(s) whenever they next went in for refitting/refurbishment to the Flight II standard.
This is a GOOD, well thought-out, beautifully rendered design. It would have been a new & interesting Enterprise-A or at least a worthy successor to the venerable Constitution Class & the queenly, incomparable Refit Design. My only personal critique is with the Main Deflector, which resembles the open maw of a Manta Ray or Basking Shark. It's the only thing that irks me on an otherwise gorgeous Ship. I give her an A-.
I think there is only two designs that I have liked this one and the Odyssey class one but this one pays tribute to the what the Enterprise should look like, she has beautiful lines, the flow of the ship is beautiful, never did like the Excelsior a lot, if I had my pick of a ship to command it would be this one, this ship give tribute to what Gene Roddenberry wanted his ships to look like, they should bring this ship to life in a series or a movie, it would look awesome on screen, Well done
Hey Spence, could you do some battle videos with your A?? Make sure you use the phaser effect from Wrath of Khan. I like the pulsating phasers with that sizzling sound better than TNG phasers! Hey you could change the color though and make them bluish like TOS. PleeeeeeZ?? Thanks!
I've asked Spencer about this before and I dont think he's keen on the idea of battles, but we will be doing some phaser and torpedo blasts in an upcoming project. And yes I think we'll be using the phaser sound from TWOK.
HardWire You could do the torpedo shots from Search for Spock or the ones from the Klingon ships in the Motion Picture! If he doesn’t want to do battles just have Enterprise blowing up asteroids or something lol!
Spencer may be a weirdo but he sure designed a truly glorious ship. She looks a helluva lot better than the Galaxy Class Starships. I agree with him, this should have been the Enterprise D instead of What we got in TNG.
