As someone who spends 50~ hours on average every week just building my settlements, this DLC had me absolutely thrilled

Is it worth playing again?

Lanterns finally I can complete my sacrificial lair/ deathclaw vs Preston for ever
yesss 😂
Now no more settlements need help
, those people deserve to die in a toxic Wasteland who needs em and their settlements anyways?
No more “B A B E”
The quitting time siren doesn't stop fighting, it just makes your settlers stop working, like they'll leave shops to come watch a fight
it's annoying that a lot of this should've been in the vanilla game.
STOP COMPLAINING BRO. At every dlc for any game theres always that one guy saying "oh it should have been there from the start smh". do you know what a dlc is? Whatever it was that came out you'd still probably complain about it.
Why it's an amazing game not hafe done like most games and 5 bucks
+leon andela I wouldn't still complain, because they'd be in the game. And to be fair I'm not complaining, I just think that (for example) the generator options, wall foundations, light accessories etc. should've already been available.
+leon andela I like Fallout 4 anyway, I'm not in the 50% of gamers who say things along of "Bethesda should've made it more like fallout 3" or whatever, I do think it's a good game, I just think that some options in THIS SPECIFIC dlc should have already been available
+Jayden Mallinson I shouldn't say that it's am amazing *personally* because I've played such a variety of games, and I get the dlc is 5 bucks and it's not like I can't afford it, but like I said to the other guy, I think there are some things in THIS SPECIFIC dlc that should've been available in the vanilla game
I think this should've just been a update
+Neebs is Awesome, yeah, but this was planned all along. I remember people being disappointed of how little variety there was in settlement decor/objects. It was a no brainer for Bethesda to have a workshop dlc for $$ later on to fill up their coffers. I think such dlc would have been price worthy if it was very comprehensive like that mod called Homemaker which adds a ton of things and makes this dlc look like a joke.
To be fair, the dlc does have a few nifty stuff but most of it is something that SHOULD have been in the game instead of charging $5. Bethesda is becoming a Ubisoft wannabe.
Yeah sure, but other MODs (for PC) offer much more stuff *and are free*, although they lack the electrical doors, the new concrete set, those cages and the arena guyzmos that don't work... However there are many other sets, gazilion of wooden sets, windows, floors, ceilings and roofs, doors, prefabs, all vehicles (plus new looking models), many more deco neon features, lamps and street lights, wall deco, paintings, a barber station for hair and beard styles, a plastic surgeon station if you want to modify your face (many choices of chair), many cluters (for clinics, interior/exterior deco and so on), many choices of different style store counters, store deco, neon lighting and whatnot... Since I'm on a PC, if find this DLC to be quite slim and I won't buy it, unfortunately (tank God I didn't take the season pass, with the GECK coming soon).
Yeah
Agreed ! There are free Mods offering much more items... Ok they're not as "active" (like the factory chain and ramp), but there are not a lot of such "special" items in the DLC when it comes to teh Workshop... I'd grab this DLC essentially for the concrete set (allowing rounded corners), but that's not enough for me to buy this...
On another topic though... What they should be working on as an upgrade, is the snapping system for object placement. Like too often, inexplicably you can't snap (or simply position) an item although there's nothing at 1st sight blocking it, although other instances allow you to make them float in the air or in odd clippings... Totally inconsistent ! It's so terrible, their devs should be able to do much better than this crappy system (the node selection and magnets is a real mess) !... Hence, they should: 1- get rid of that crappy collision limitation (or allow to disable or move cluttering objects that currently can't be selected - we should be able to get rid of completely trashed houses and replace them for instance, or some tree and objects which are inexplicably non selectable), while at the same time revamping and greatly enhance their snapping system...
Thank you for the demo. So many new lighting options, with neon, candles, fires, etc. They have such a huge impact on the atmosphere you can create in your settlements. I appreciate that you're conscious of how the video will look by showing everything in bright daylight. Even cloud cover makes it hard to see when you're in workshop mode.
I find it so amusing how they did raider cages: "free chems!" with an arrow. I also like how each cage moves up the food chain a bit.
I've been having a lot more fun with this than I expected. Also thanks JV this is by far the best and well explained video I've seen explaining this.
This video was exactly what I needed. Thank you for your outstanding work. You saved me a lot of trouble.
Thanks for the rundown of the DLC mate! :) I am definitely getting it now!
Thank you for this comprehensive look at the new DLC. Just finished downloading it and can't wait to get building! This will make starting a new character have so much more replay value. ^_^
Thanks for making his vid, I havnt been able to play yet so I always appreciate you making these vids
you Forgot the mounted creatures in wall decoratoins
Thank you for the video! Kudos~
Thank you I was searching for concrete walls for a while😊
Very good commentary in this video. Nice work!
was waiting for this all day lol....make a in depth one on building your arena !
Subscribed because of the time stamps. Very convenient, thank you.
Just what I needed cheers geeza x
what's really nice is concrete walls stack on top of each other for great tall concrete walls. i made a three story wall around sanctuary. and they blend into each other a little sideways if you need to change the angle. I think it was done that way for arenas.
Holy crap, looks awesome!
Great super helpful video as always
Thank you so much for this video
I really wish there was an option where we could remove out all those dead weeds and bushes. It just looks unpleasant.
but it makes it you knowwwww fallout if everything was clean then it wouldn't look like a bomb destroyed the world
Mods...
Scrap That Settlement mod
Scrapping mods
@@ANONYMOUS-ts6cc it's 210 years after the nukes you would think people could fucking clean up where they're living
Love your vids. Keep up your good work :)
I've already started to tame deathclaws it's so cool
The Upper floor (both concrete and wood) is a roof + a floor tile stacked together to easily align the 2nd floor on top of the first
Cat cage is the best item. My Crazy Cat Lady build was lacking without it.
+Incog NeatOh What is the main weapon? Throwing cats at people?
Would love to see more flowers and plants. Makes settlement feel more like home. So far I really have to rely on mutfruit to get some green. I like the new lanterns and non broken building parts, always wondered why wastelanders haven't even thought about fixing anything for 200+ years.
Hey great video if you get time I bet you could use the new walls to make the castle look cool
This is going to be great movie
woooow
I'm going to watch it
+JV2017gameplay I love your vids m8 Keep up the good work From: Collin Dean
+JV2017gameplay i am enjoying it so far
Fat
Sweet... the track lights for lighting up statues. Also, the DLC is worth it for the concrete walls and fusion generator alone. Very cool. I build concrete walls around all settlements (the big foundation slabs) and then stack a couple of the prefab floor and ceilings... and then add missile launchers to each level. Makes my settlements impenetrable.
fusion generator, and street lights! now i can put away some of the stuff i did in my settlements and make them more natural looking!
I just love the lights.... wow.. lights 9_9 loads of colours... just colours everywhere.. I love it
this video really helped
Awesome video makes me wanna buy the DLC
I'm keen on the new lights like candles and lanterns. I can light areas when I don't want to build a noisy generator. And the concrete is pretty cool. I'm going to build some pillboxes.
That's it though really. Not bothered about the arena or trapping animals. I would have liked more defense options such as sandbags or barbed wire entanglements to easily block holes here and there in my perimeter, and some new wall decorations specifically commercial posters.
Waiting for some build vids to see what people come up with. I've already made a warehouse style power plant on spectacle.
finally a video of the dlc
I assume the quitting time siren is to get your settlers to stop working (farming, salvaging, etc) and go into relax mode where sit at bars, couches, etc, which would encourage them to come to the arena.
Finally electric doors, I've been waging for this because settlers kept going my house!
Another cool option now with a mod called Settlement Electricy Overhaul, most everything is wireless now and one little fuse box powers the whole settlement...it's pretty awesome...no wires!
also there are multiple mounted creatures, paintings and lettering as well in the wall decoration section.
Great video
JV, you can Daisy chain connections instead of what you were doing. that's what happened when you were connecting the beta wave emmiter.
Right? That was bugging me so much. My first play through I had no idea but on my second everything looks so nice in my settlements because I just chain everything together.
the lighting section of the video is lit
Another addition to the game is some merchants now have extra shipments, like Trashcan Carla and the Diamond City Surplus now have shipments of concrete, others may as well.
I love the buses and trailers! Awesome for realistic playthrough
they'd be pretty good for walls around settlements
+Angry Pepe they double up as housing and a wall. Which is awesome
I'm mostly excited for the open neon sign because I made a bar and it would make a good addition.
Put a double barrel shotgun in a counter that's called "bartender's dream" so when raiders attack the bartender has a way to defend himself
Without a doubt the water pump and the super power. Placed out some cages, but found the only place big enough to build an arena without stealing alot of land is Finch Farm and Spectacle Island. Haven't built it yet, but so far, getting those new perks seems a waste. Think I will watch your channel to see if it's worth the bother building an arena. But the concrete buildings and the street lights are great. Then again, I would have to get rid of my buildings in wood.....and buy alot of concrete. It never stops, does it? Great vid
What about deathclaws defending your settlements?
Be nice if they had a siren that would alow you to call in raider supermutant and deathclaw attacks, that you can set the scale of like having 20 raiders attack your settlements and have a huge fire fight!
decontamination and the new lights are the best I won't have any use for the cages but pretty sweet
Sure that someone already said it but im not going trough all comments but the quiting sire is also working for settlers that are on jobs like stores or food. If you turn it on they all go to relax. Sure alot of people know this but anyway thought i mentioned it.
I would like more information on useful ways to combine traps, sensors, and consoles as well as good ways to configure your cages and what to use them for, farming enemy types, arenas, or just aesthetics. Is it possible for cages to catch legendary enemies?
Yes
Good question I also want to know
Not sure about legendarys. I did the mirelurk cage, and one time it had a hardened king, and the next time it just that that lobster looking one
This looks amazing to be honest
The buses got some ideas for a player home and the generator
A lot more easier? Good video man.
Well I had a bar in sanctuary but now I'm definitely gonna remodel it
one thing i noticed was that at 18:23 the regen that he got from the stimpak dissapears after walking through the decontamination arch
He's playing on survival noob :P Stimpacks take a longgggg time
You could also use the buses and stuff to block out enemies from your sanctuary
The things you capture teleport inside the cage over the span of a in game week, so you can build a enclosed arena and just put a cage in there and a switch going to it. Then the switch off the creature is released. The quitting siren you put next to the arena and when you activate it all settlers will come and watch the fight and cheer. The red vs blue is kinda though, I tell the settlers to stand next to it them when I'm ready for them to fight I assign them a team. If you just assign them randomly they'll fight from wherever they're standing. Holding fights during quitting time active increases settlement happiness as well as having passive animals (dogs and cats). I completely redid my Castle with concrete and patched up all the holes in the wall it looks 100% better than the wood. On a sidenote the bar area I made I named it home in the wall with neon. Also made a shooting range for the minute men to train using the nixie tubes and neon O. I really like the new lighting options and the decontamination arch. Now I don't have to carry a ton of rad away, just for emergencies.
My fav is the crop plot I’m building one right now
I like that Percy and Myrna in Diamond city surplus each sell 300 concrete now. Also trashcan carla. Thats 900 concrete every 48 hours in-game... If you have the caps for it.
Trudy, in the drumlin diner also carries 300 concrete
11:30 he said power core then said fusion cell but he just didnt say fusion core :'D
It also apparently took him forever to figure out how that one track light goes on the ceiling. And those are only 2 examples from this video. Homeboy isn't very bright, apparently.
can you do your next video over at boston airport or the mechanist lair? i have console so yea. so far with the new stuff those locations seems worth moving settlers into now. altho boston airport still seems rather annoying because my settlers there are outside of my building area so i cant command them until night time when theyre sleeping.
I love the new building materials. Small enough irregularities that they don't look so obviously patterned when you stack the same piece multiple times in a row.
What about the label maker were you can make your own labels
What mission do you have to do to get the wasteland workshop? I have the season pass but when I look at the work shop I don't have those cages.
For the fusion core generators do you have to supply them with fusion cores?
It would be the best addition if they would add the possibility to build workshop parts then assemble them at any place to create a new settlement workshop /area, which would also remove hostile npc & creep spawning within its build range. Or something similar, that would allow players to create settlements anywhere as often as they have resources for it. An extension to that could be allowing to extend any settlement's build radius, in an all around and/or in a directional manner. That would be the best settlement add-on ever.
The arena popup states, you might want to put a powered door to keep them from attacking too soon.
if i get this im going to make a new world just for this and be committed to settlement building
Not sure if this is mentioned hEre or elsewhere but you can also add the water pumps to garden plots, despite them being on second stories as well... I have a floating base and I am pumping water in said floating base... With absolutely no ground contact. No idea why I am typing like this.
so could you like make a pit with a cage in it with hostile enemies, then set a trapdoor above the pit, release the enemies, and have a pit full of enemies in case of raider attacks?
I'm having a problem with my workshop because when I go in it I can't put any defenses up, is that a glitch or not?
How does it work after instal.? I just installed it and it wont show up when i try to build
I love the fusion generator
If I build the fusion generator will those thieving settlers take the cores out and steal myextra power armor?
how do you get out of a powered door when the switch is on the other side, i already tried two switches and it stayed closed at all times
In order for human enemy's to fight place there spawn cage next to each other and then release at the same time and they will engage each other
the cafes because once the survival mode comes out you have a good storage of diffrent hostile to read you
The concrete category is awesome.
ok i must buy it!!!!
Candles in definitely hyped for candles
I really, really wanted new beds. Oh well, there's way more than enough in here to justify the measly $5. Really excited for the structure category items, the fusion generators will be really convenient. Lighting options will be nice. I've had to get creative with lighting. To be honest though, MOST (not all) of this was available in one way or another via mods, but (again, only $5) it's a huge convenience to have this stuff run natively. No crashes, no conflicts, no editing, no memory issues, no huge mods list, no work really.
I had this since yesterday
you forgot a few things like the angeled doorway and the wall decoration tab
Some times when I fast travel it chrashes my game its on ps4 so save alot
Are the concrete floors, walls, roofs, stairs and railings compatible with the steel and wooden floors, walls roofs and stairs? Will they snap?
I do not see the cages option in my wasteland workshop. I have a few mods so is it glitched or something?
I'm betting the cages are area powered like lights, etc. If the Generator was across the settlement, you wouldn't have an issue with the switch not working.
can you make a video over the best place to get the meat or other type of food to capture the creature you want to get
This is a cool DLC I'm not a fan of the arena stuff but I like everything else also I'm hoping Bethesda will let us have an ammunition box to build I really want one for my set up !!!!
For me the concrete structures, new lights, and fusion core make my game so much more better looking and easier to keep track of stuff. PS: with the fusion core it take less space for water instead of 20 other generators
This should've became an update.
Those nixie lights Remind me of Mob of the Dead xD
How do you get neon lights to work, cause mine arent lighting up?
I made a wall around my settlement with the buses😂
You forgot a few decorations, there's some new little letter label things and also some head mounts
If I buy this and my Xbox live goes out cause it's only good for 1 week then do I no longer can use this dlc? If someone has the answer can you tell me and thank you.
Can the season pass still give you the dlc even if you got after a dlc released
