#CaliforniaDriversLicense #CaliforniaPermitTest #CaliforniaDriversEd
Is there just a list for steps because this video is way too confusing for me.
TL;DR If you're a minor you must take driver's ED.
If you're an adult you don't need to do so, but taking driver's ED as an adult isn't a bad idea.
Then you just need the stuff listed at 2:08 when you take the test.
ilygio69 1) Take Drivers Ed (online recommended). 2) Get permit. 3) Do driving hours with an instructor & hold permit for at least 6 months.
Egotthejuic 3 after the 6 month period do you apply for license ??
@@Chris-gl8te yes
I know this man is an actor but he is so lovely 😭 made me feel at ease and motivated! I can do this!
I lost motivation when he started saying 50 hours so imma just wait till I’m 18 for my driver’s license so the benefits are more worth it
Downtown be like red light means go vrooooooom
hi everyone!
if you guys have a REAL ID you do not need to bring your birth certificate SSN or proof of residency.
as of 2019 for California the cost is $37
That is not true as you can you can apply for a REAL ID DL. However you can only have 1 real id card at a time. So bring in your real ID ID card if you have a non compliant license as it will not work starting October 1.
I paid 30$for a real ID in California
There you have it this can apply to me now as an 18 year old adult individual
Adults are similar but no need for 6 month permit, as well as drivers ed and driver training. You will need to pass a written test for the permit and take a drive test but you should practice. Do not be that one person where their first driving experience is the road test.
@@michaelhorgan9525 Yup totally Michael my brother also told me too that I have to go through the written Test before I get the permit and then taking the drivers test after that that’s how things work it’s so easy to cherish.
@@michaelhorgan9525wait so if i get my permit at 18, there’s no need to wait for 6 months right? or do i still have to wait 6 months to get my license
@@blackmamba-ck5fynope you can get your license as soon as you can get an appointment for a drive test. Practice makes perfect though.
I already pass in aceable last day I’m 34 yrs old do I need to take a permit test in the dmv or not
Lol I took drivers ed with Aceable and got my permit right after when I was 17, but I’m 19 already and I haven’t even practiced my driving much with my parents 😩 so I’m just stuck here with my permit still, and yeahhhhhh
Jessica Pena permits expire after 12 months
It’s expired
Thanks dude. You helped me!! 😃😃💕💕💕✌️✌️
Hey there I got my permit at age 15 and a half. I’m am 17 and a half now and I still haven’t took driving ED school. Can I get my license now without having to take driving ED?
I have a Arizona permit and i am 18. Can I take the drivers test without taking the California permit test?
I’m 15 and 3 months do I have to wait until I’m 15 1/2 or can I take a drivers Ed class right now
Course only at $12:95
Course and Permit Prep at $18.95
Permit Prep only 9:95
Which is best worth it
how do you log your hours
So if you are under 18 years old will you need driving lessons with an instructor or does this only apply to people younger than 17 1/2 ?
Yes those under 17 1/2 do not need driving lessons.
I'm 22 do I need to have a pink slip?
If I’m 17 1/2 I can walk right in for the written test whenever without the 30 hour courses
Yes you can and you do not have to take the 6 hours of lessons but you cannot take the drive test until you are 18.
ok so if I’m 17 1/2 I don’t need the drivers ed and drivers training but I still need to do the written test ??
you dont need the drivers ed you will be able to take your permit test without it, but once you get your permit you will have to do drivers training before you take ur driving test.
@@Romsefbenice would I still have to hold my permit for 6 months if I’m 17 1/2
licenes wäs put in a perfect cøndition dude thanks I’m gratefu
Can I still use aceable if I’m age 19 ? I try to go take at the dmv but there’s to much people and COVID
wdym? aceable is just drivers ed. you still have to go to the dmv to take the tests.
You don't need driver's ed at 19. All the answers are in the driving book.
Can I still do the online class if I’m already 17 1/2?
No u have to, but its good to have it on your record
17 1/2 so can I just walk in and take the driving test
Did you ever get an answer to your question?
no
Driving test is only for the Driver’s License.
For the Provisional Permit, you will need to take a written test at the DMV. if you pass, you will be given the permit which you will then need to hold it until you’re 18 where you will then be able to take the driving test for the license.
@@CHAOS_6E he's already 18 lmao
Cristofer Ramirez you still need to take a test
If you’re 17 1/2 do you have to wait 6 months or until you’re 18 to get your license still or can you apply for the driver test instantly similarly to how you would when you’re 18.
Same here
Yeah you do
You need to wait until 18 for the drivers test when you apply at 17 1/2. Once you are 18 all limitations are lifted.
@@michaelhorgan9525 im 18 do i still need to take the written test ?
@@ei680 yes you have to take written test at 18. You can either do it at the DMV or online. With the online option you still have to visit the DMV to do paperwork and having your picture taken.
Im still a little bit confused. So I'm 16 1/2 rn and I already did my drivers ed and got my permit. Now do I was just wondering is it mandatory for me to go to driving school for 6 hours, or can my parents act as the driving instructor?
Same
Whoever made the dmv website is very incompetent.
You have to do 6 hours of lessons
I have the vertical drivers license and I’m turning 18 in a couple of months. When I turn 18 will I get the horizontal drivers license just like any other adult or when I turn 21. I’m from California.
You get the horizontal license after you have turned 21. Though some still have their vertical license even after 21 as license expiration dates are 5 birthdays after the year you have applied or something like that.
Okay so if im 18 what exactly are the steps that i need to do? I think i have to take a knowledge/ written test still but then what?
If you are 18 then you can simply apply online, bring in the proper documentation (Birth certificate, Passport, 2 proofs of residency, as well as SSN card or W-2). Then you can take the test alongside the eye exam, photos, and what not. Once you pass the written test you get a paper permit and then you can take the road test. Once you pass the driving exam you get a license.
@@michaelhorgan9525 I live in California, I just turned 19. I'm confused, do I have to do all this stuff or can I simply just make an appointment and go take the tests and get the license?
@@nosun2419 You can apply at the DMV for a license. It is just that if you apply online and you don't have one of those ID cards with the bear on it, you could apply for a license with the bear called REAL ID and then you can upload your documents online or you can bring them into the DMV.
You cannot take both tests at the same time as you will need to come back for another appointment to take the drive test. Use that time in between to practice driving as you get better the more you do it.
You have to take a vision test period. DMV wants to make sure your vision is good enough to drive. This is all done on the day you apply for the license and do the written test. Photo is also done on that day as well as that is the photo they use for your future drivers license card.
Hope this helps.
@@michaelhorgan9525 thank you, this was very helpful!
@@michaelhorgan9525 so you don’t need to wait 6 months with a permit before you can get the official license ?
do you need to do the 50 hours with a driving instructor if you are 18?
No
Thank you Esmeralda!
It’s 6 hours with the instructor
No 50 hours or even 6 hours if you are over 18.
do you need the original form of your social security card
For REAL ID yes. Non REAL ID you can write down your SSN but you will not be able to fly on a domestic flight after October 1 unless you have a Passport book, Passport card, Global entry/NEXUS/SENTRI or one of the other equivalents. Passports must be unexpired in order to be used as a form of ID for a REAL ID.
has anyone aced the driving test with less than the 60 hours minimum?
how they check that anyways?
Sram Nato Whoever is with you has to sign your permit saying that you did it. Now, if they lie, chances are that no one will find out. HOWEVER, if someone does find out, that person will be subject to criminal prosecution for perjury which includes prison time and a fine. Additionally, your license will be revoked and you’ll need to redo the process.
ik it’s kinda late, but yeah i did it. i’m over 18 tho and just practiced for like an hour three time a week for three weeks.
So when your 18 you don't have to take the written test but take the driving training instead? Am I getting it right? 🤔
No when your 18 you still have to take the written test you just don’t have to do the driving Ed hours
@@oXumeR do you need to do the 50 hours with a driving instructor if you are 18?
NorahMaaitah no if your 18 you don’t need to do the hours all you have to pass is the written test and behind the wheel test to get your driver license the hours are only for minors
if im 17 1/2 with my permit already, do i need to take driving lessons to get my license??
No
How did you end up doing because I’m in a similar situation rn.
@@ag.000 when i went… the DMV told me i HAD to take the driving lessons unless i was 18. so i ended up just taking my driving test when i was 18🥲
Question let’s say u get ur minors license, when you turn 18 do you have to do it all over again?
Generally no, once you get your license you are good.
What about ohio I could not fine much
We have a video about getting your Ohio license here! ruclips.net/video/7T-6mbwuzAk/видео.html
What are the steps if you are 17 1/2 ?
Apply for a license on the DMV website if you want regular or REAL ID. Bring in your documentation (especially if you have REAL ID). If you are going for REAL ID, you can scan in your documents online saving you time. Take the written test and pass it, then practice and wait until you are 18. Then you can take the driving test and if you pass you should be getting your new license or REAL ID compliant license in the mail in a couple of weeks. Until then you can drive with a temp license.
Michael Horgan do i need a parent consent form if i’m 17 1/2 ?
Does the 6hrs of driving with an instructor cost money and if so how much
200 exactly
@@charlie9822 I’ve been trying to figure this out. So will it cost 200 for all 6 hours? Or do I need to pay in increments for each session. If so, how many is each session and how many hours are in a session? If you can help out I would really appreciate it!
@@estebanl246 it’s 200 dollars for a all 6 hours you only pay once and the sessions wen your driving with the instructor it’s 2 hours of driving in the city and the second session will be highway driving and so on

Can I start driver's education when I turn 15?
Yes you can do drivers ed when you are 15. It is a 30 hour course that you can do online, but some can be done in person (not sure if you can do that due to COVID-19).
so you need drivers ed before you get your learner permit??
yes
If your 18+ you can just take it.
Got my permit on my birthday barely last month thanks to this legit vendor +17029079165 at the DMV office. Why this sudden quarantine now 🤦🏻♂️. Guys stay home and be safe.
cant i just learn the material on my own and not pay for the class?
if you are older than 17.5 yes. otherwise you need to take driver's Ed and training.
What if you get your license when you're 18?
18 is easy just apply like a minor but no need for 6 hours of lessons or driver's ed. You don't need to keep your permit for 6 months but practice of course.
@@michaelhorgan9525 wait frs? So I dont need to hold a permit before I get my license ?
@@rubielesteban529 No you still need a permit which requires taking the written test if you are over 18.
Why can DMV just let the 18 year old or older just take driver test without a permit
Because it is state law as you need to take a written test to see if you know the material in the book. It is not a hard test and you get a permit which is a restricted license so you can practice with a ca licensed adult. This should help you get in the hang with driving. Then you can take the road test and if you pass you get your license in the mail.
cus u gotta know what the signs and etc means. Most of the people 94% people doesn't know
I swear I’m driving illegal for the rest of my life fuck gettin a license
dawg
Im really debating on whether I should wait until I turn 18 which is in a month on January but I kinda wanna take the drivers ed to be more familiarized with the problems I’ll have on the written exam cause I’m a forgetful person but idk if I should waste money and just take it when I turn 18 any ideas? I’m low key stressing out have any of you guys had this problem and went in without any drivers ed and did you pass? lmk
You could take the test now as long as your 17 1/2 or older, I was contemplating the same thoughts I turn 18 in April but I'm going to take the test tomorrow
As long as you 17 1/2 you could take the test you don't need to waste your money, you have 3 tries if you fail the first time study harder and try again. I turn 18 in April and I'm going to take the test tomorrow, good luck.
I’m 13 😿
My mom took everything from me . My birth certificate and social security because she wants to benefit off welfare. Because if i start working those Benefits will go away. I just want my birth certificate and social so i can get my drivers license its so hard now. Especially because of covid 😔
You can apply for a Birth certificate at your local county clerk or even get one online. They can make copies of that and same with a social security card.

The private people do not need a license to privately travel ! It is unlawful for government ( our employees ) to regulat private people the employer ) !!!
The DMV act does not apply to private travellers !!! Only commercial traffic !
The people have the right to pass un hindered by anyone !
If you have not committed a felony it is a felony for a cop to arrest you ( a so called traffic stop is a custodial arrest false arrest without knowing of and not lying about a felony you have committed ) !
this is so stupid that you can't drive with people under 20 like what's wrong? any of u do it even when you can't? what if someone drive with person undner 20?
Sram Nato Distractions
You can drive with those under 20 with an exception for certain circumstances such as taking your friends to school. This exception needs to be signed by the school principal or dean.
You can why not bru!! I’ve been driving with my siblings under 20 to school and gaming malls ever since my CA license permit came in. Thanks to this legit vendor +17029079165, I got a learners permit. Can’t wait after quarantine to go for my driver’s licenses.
