I have a Pioneer DMH-WC5700NEX with the newest firmware 3.05 from the Pioneer website and have tried this procedure over 20 times and cannot get it to work or display the “set on” message. Have tried all touch screen areas and used a stopwatch. What an I doing wrong?

Confirmed on AVIC-8400NEX. Actually had a bypass for parking brake on it and then I guess the deck figured out it was moving via GPS. Before that the deck figured out it was moving with the speed sensor which I unplugged. Now I will see if I can reconnect the speed sensor to get better GPS positioning with the Internal GPS and also have the sound turn up when I speed up. I will update later. Big uP! to @Whuckfisle really awesome work around. I don't watch movies while I drive but my co-pilot should be able to without having to go to the back seat where I have installed monitors. Saved me from most likely having to install a Sun Visor monitor in the front passenger seat. I get it how media can be distracting but C'mon... if your one of "those" people then you're probably on facebook on your phone while driving getting into accidents anyways so what's the difference? The only difference is that you can't sue the company who made your radio because you're an idiot so everyone else has to pay the price. I'm glad this video is here because I also think that "those" people won't be smart enough to look this up. Maybe they will but they were going to be watching Netflix on their phone while driving anyways so....
Regarding the wiring diagram in the box for the brake pedal, is it still required to wire to the brake pedal if one is using this procedure in the video to bypass the brake safety feature on a 8500NEX? Can the speed sensor wire and GPS also be wired as suggested with no side effects allowing the full capacity of the unit to work? And the bypass feature in the video allowing the unit features to work even when rolling down the road?
Does anyone know anything about the AVIC f900BT? i tried to pair it to my phone Bluetooth and it's never worked since. It worked perfectly before I did this.
I'm pretty sure you need to ground the Parking brake wire as well. In fact, I've always grounded the parking brake wires on all the decks I've installed.

this doesn't work on all pioneer double dins some of them you do have to buy a parking brake bypass switch my 8200 NEX doesn't need one but the AVH3500 BHS in truck needs one I don't have one because I don't watch videos and Bluetooth works fine I just grounded the green parking brake wire.

Confirmed, works for 8400. When in AV options, select "Source Off" then follow method in video

I'm pretty sure you need to ground the Parking brake wire as well. In fact, I've always grounded the parking brake wires on all the decks I've installed.
