- How To Enable Video Playback On Your Car Stereo Bypass For Free!
This is illegal in some countries, so do it at your own risk. This video is educational and driving while watching the stereo is dangerous! So be safe!
Locate your Parking brake wire it maybe of a different colour than mine depending on your card stereo so please check your manual first, then just simply connect it to any metal parts on your car, the metal part need to be connected to the Car's chassis. No need to buy a bypass for this its just a waste of time and includes extra wiring. But please bear in mind that this method may not work for every Stereo and Car out there.

This worked on my Kenwood DDX393! Simply grounding the parking brake wire to the stereo chassis is all it takes. Thanks!

OMG! I was installing my new stereo (which is the exact same one you showed in the video) that has backup camera capability just now, but couldn't get the camera to work. Soon as I watched this, I realized what that other green wire was for!! Thank you so so much you are a lifesaver bro!!

very helpful. I heard many bs like connect it to a resistor and touch it to positive wire, connect it to car battery or to relay but this method is the easiest one.
Worked great for me and now I can use the HDMI input on my Sony unit to play on my Xbox or play movies from my FireTV Stick.
I drive a 2010 Mercedes Benz G-Class and I would have to disassemble the entire dashboard to get to the plug of the foot activated handbrake since the switch itself is covered in black gunk and you can't remove that stupid connector unless you go very deep into the dashboard and find the plastic connector.

So the other end of wire is at the parking brake? mine is a foot brake can I splice it to the foot break Wire then to earth? a little confused

Indeed it works! But I had to wrap the wire around a screw to the radio housing in back.
thanks, I just had this problem but I IAM Going put a mini key SWITCH and hide IT were canT be seen and use IT TO CONNECT AND DISCONNECT THE HEAD UNIT BRAKE WIRE BY CONNECTING the hEAD UNIT BRAKE WIRE TO MINI KEYED SWITCH
THEN USE THE OTHER TERMINAL OF THE MININ SWITCH TO THE CAR BODY OF THE CAR SO YOU TURN ON OFF THE VIDEO SCREEN

I have the Sony XAV-AV 5000, wire is grounded. I get sound from the video and the payback functions but I still get the message in the middle of the screen "Video Blocked for your safety.
Go to "Setting" ==> "Driving Setting" ==> "Watching Videos" enable (Tick) it

Hopefully you can still respond but, how do you make the green parking brake wire from the stereo become “grounded” to the chassis of the car or the metal of the stereo itself? Like how do you make it stick with the parking break wire to the metal so that it’s “grounded”??? Hopefully you get what I mean
Hello mate locate a screw you can losen on the chassis of the stereo and tuck the wire under it then tighten the screw back.
You use O connector and crimp it.

I'm wanting to install a parking brake bypass on a stock ford stereo. However, when I located the green, black and blue wires I found there was either conduction shield or what I think may be called bare wire running alongside these three wires. Question is.. how do I deal with the bare wite when installing the parking brake bypass? Please excuse my verbage and terminology - I'm new to this. Thanks for your time.
Mine I'll work like that but once I turn off my car and start it back it won't show video until I unhook the brake wire and ground it again. But once car is off it's the same thing

Because I wasn't thinking about the green wire when putting the harness together and I'm not going to mess up that work of art by cutting into a connection I made 20 minutes ago, doh!

Ok I do have one question because I just told my husband we r complete air heads for not realizing this sooner, and he disagrees with me that this WILL FIX THE PROBLEM!!! ok I definitely will be doing this regardless of what he thinks but he says and I guess its possible but I'm gonna say he is wrong! We have a 2020 CHEVY SILVERADO 3500 DUALLY, AND It will not allow videos to be played on it AT ALL, parked or moving! Ok so you have all ur bells and whistles on this thing and I mean all I.E video/ camera footage playing in ur rearview mirror AT ALL TIMES, unless you manually flip it to mirror mode!! U can brighten ur rearview mirror, u can zoom n and out with it and move ur camera up an down with it etc.... and it has a check my bed feature so u can check WHILE DRIVING in the bed of ur truck or down the sides and when connecting to the hitch to pull something I mean there is cameras all the way around and the video for them plays on infotainment systems or rearview mirror!!! And if u r towing or anything it has an automatic "check beside and behind you (I'm not sure what they call this feature) but if u r turning and use ur turn signal, it automatically pulls up ur cameras to show u what is beside u and ur camper or whatever, and to make sure you can get over it shows behind you (if ur camper has a rear camera it uses it and if not then it uses ur rear camera) so u know u have enough distance between you and any cars that might be beside u!!! And my husband recently got a strip light to go across the back under the edge of tailgate, and he just hooked it up in the bed of the truck on one of the tow/haul power hook ups, an now we have the cameras every time we use our turn signals!! Which is great with a dually because if ur turning n a tight spot or something u gotta watch them curbs, lol but this feature makes a world of difference with because u don't have to watch that small bottom mirror!! U can see everything beside you completely all right there!! Ofcourse I don't reccomend relying only on that! But if also has the hulagram in ur windshield with EVERYTHING so u don't have to look down for speed, navigation radio or ANYTHING if u don't want to, I gotta glance its just habbit!!! Ok so it has all these features, video/camera features so I know it has the ability to play videos!!!! I BELIEVE that your method WILL still WORK for us because it plays videos, or cameras while u r DRIVING, so it should all be under the same agreement of keeping focused, be safe don't b distracted while DRIVING agreement!!!!!! So by grounding ur park brake its basically telling it ur not moving/driving..... Now with that being said I do see his point, how do u get the ability or option for video if there isn't ANY apps/options for playing video! I believe it will automatically play when ur playing from phone or connected devices. So what do you think?? And if you do agree with him please let me know! Would love ur opinion on this!

Sorry I no longer have the stereo, the video was an mp4 file on a USB stick.

Hello mate, it comes from the stereo, there will be a bug of wires and one of them is the break wire, it may not be labelled on yours or your stereo may not have it at all, you need to look up the manual of your stereo. I hope this helps.

Hello mate the green cable comes with the stereo I didn't add it. If your stereo doesn't come with one you probably need to Google it look in your stereo manual. Good luck.
