I’ve been looking into figuring out how to fix the Bluetooth in my car for over a year.. I watched 3 minutes of this video and fixed the problem in under 5. Thank you!
What I learned most from this video is that you can power your headunit with a Milwaukee M12 battery.
As long as its 12 volts which that battery is

Also… it’s called a universal bypass module use that for bypassing pioneers don’t let this man confuse you.
If you are watching this video and you’re not a professional that KNOWS what they’re doing. Save yourself a car and some money let you money work for you.
@@exoticaudio7338 so a bypass module will let me watch visual videos whilst driving ? Any links to one ?
I had exactly the same problem.
I simply got the parking brake wire and got electric tape stuck on to any metal surface on the rear of the unit and it plays the video. It just needs a magnetic surge .
And thanks to you , it worked.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH BRO
so glad I found your videos. I had a radio installed by a friend of a friend in 2016 and never bothered to figure out why I could never access my Bluetooth settings (it's always greyed out). This year, I finally got to the point where I have the max number of devices stored, and I needed to delete one, but I can't because I can't get access the settings. After some research, I know it's because a wire isn't grounded, and now I know what to do to fix the problem.
Thank you!
aaaaaaayyye another problem solved im happy my vids help some many people thanks for watching
This is the kind a videos that I like straight to the point not waste time at all so specific well explained and works perfect Thanks Bro first step works for my Pioneer avh 210ex stereo
glad it helped bro
@@jptheinstallguy I have this exact head unit in a Toyota sienna and it's talking about the parking brake......bought a DVD for 1.50 at goodwill can't even watch it man, it's rough
@@jptheinstallguywhat are you doing exactly on the first tip ? Where you trick it with on off on, how are you achieving that though I can't even see what you're connecting it too there's too much sun out, are you just connecting it to a ground source on and off and back on?
@@jptheinstallguyusing a 2 way switch wired to a ground?
My guy that is the exact same radio I installed in my truck You answered the question 110% for me thank you very much thank you thank you.
I used to read novels while driving but now I will be watching DVDs while driving! Pimp!!
I bought a Tundra 8 years ago and wondered what that Lil (hidden) switch was below my Avic-8000NEX and now I know. TY
i know this is an older video but i watched it and ordered your bypass, works Awesome! Thank you so much
Dude 👍🏽 that's the best video out here and best explanation..... Now I have to rip out my deck and re do it ..... I was bugging out when it wasn't working and bought another double din thinking my was broken ...
Glad I could help out yea some of them radios are a little tricky
@@jptheinstallguy I did that to mine nothing I have a pioneer 1400dvd it has a green wire yellow and black wire and 2 I think are pink and white and blue and white tried grounded the green it didn’t work is there anything else I could try?
My parking brake happened to break so this was perfect. There ground wire method worked on my Kenwood thank you Mr JP
so glad this helped you out
Great video and very helpful. All I wanted to do is be able to adjust my settings without having to pull over (eq, etc.). Also, my parking brake signal was finicky, leaving me unable to access my settings even while parked. You showing how to install the switch and bypass gave me a couple of options to try. Thank you.
Thanks my dude for pointing out the wiring. Other guys patted themselves on the back for backup cameras and skipped the rest. 👍🏻👍🏻
Will this drain my battery
Thank you so much for this video I have been scratching my head for 3 hours and u had it fixed in a minute
Mr JP, THANK YOU! I just used your video to install a ground switch for my new Pioneer AVH-120BT. AWESOME!
So glad this helped
Does the AVH120 BT have decent power. I bought one haven't installed it yet. Did you have to use a grounding switch?? Or did it work just simply by grounding it out
Mine keep blowing the fuse I don’t know that’s going on there 🤦🏻♂️
I was going through Pioneer problems too I just got one used off Marketplace but I got a wire harness with the light green straight from Amazon because this one didn't have the light green
JUST what I was looking for. Thank you!
Glad I could help!
You bad bro. Love the quick videos. No nonsense “I got my radio from Amazon and had fun” crap lol
I used the switch on my Jensen, worked like a charm! Thanks!
Where does the yellow wire go for the Alpine? I just ordered it because I have the iLX-507 radio which I’m about to install
J.P. thanks brother.... I used your method number two with the toggle switch and it worked very well thanks brother I really appreciate it keep doing your thing... I'ma keep watching 💯👌🏾🤙🏾✌🏾
This video helped a lot I wired the ebrake with my ground in the harness but only Bluetooth works and it can play cds for music but if I want to watch a movie or use the WebLink it doesn’t work and the switch method helped me now I can use everything and it leave it on all the time and turn it off here and there
I fixed it!!! Thank you now my kids can watch movies while on the go
Yeah it would be fun for passengers to watch while you drive, and you can always listen along.
Even tho there are a couple mistakes this video made it the most understandable video of the four that I watched
Thank you very much that helps a lot, was in couples places and they want change too much ($300. and $250.)and fund your video and put a switch and works perfect Thank Sir.
I have no plans of bypassing, but I wanted to know what this parking brake wire does. Now I know. Thanks.
I just left it unhooked but I’m gonna have to pull it back out to connect my new phone to Bluetooth
How you're doing JP. Awesome video 👍. Now I got an Alpine flip-out units ( CVA-1005 & an IVA-D300 ) & both of them require the parking brake to be installed to watch DVDS, but I want to movies without having to park my car , but at the same time my focus will be on the road as well which is a top priority. I didn't know until now how to bypass it. Can't wait to see more of your videos, good job 👍👍👍👍👍
This is by far the best and most informative video I've ever watched in line with this type of search. To the point, incredibly easy to understand and u clearly show how yo do it. Also want to add that was pretty fkn cool how u used the Milwaukee battery. Had no idea. I will be subscribing to say the least. Thank you for ur time and great video
Wow are u his mom ? 😂
Bahhh! You beat me to it! Lol...so true...good vid tho
Highly appreciate your invaluable information, have a wonderful day buddy.
Same to you
I had no plans to watch to the end. I already have a switch wired up, but when I saw #3, I would never complete an installation without that relay. Ordered from link in description. I have a Pioneer unit and I don't want an ugly switch on my dash for no good reason.
That's exactly what I need to make it work in my car , thank you ,I subscribed all ready, saludos from México!!!
Thanks for the tutorial big hoomie. I qas having this issue with my alpine head unit. I decided to go with the switch option.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to make this video.
where would the yellow wire on the bypass go for an Alpine iLX-w650
Thanks for the tips man. Saved me having to pull the whole thing out.
Best explanation I've seen on how to do this.
💯💯🙌🏽
Thank you so much for this video. I wasn’t looking for it but needed it anyway. Glad it showed up on my streams, lol. You now have a new subscriber.
aaaaaaaye welcome and thank you for joining
Totally Worked!!!!! Even on Japanese Carrozeria Pioneer AVIC-MRZ02
That was perfect working, thank you a lot. Could install the whole radio, but one last problem persist. The antenna extends even I use the USB or CD, is there a setup to stop the antenna doing that?
Thank u so much! I have a bose radio that was doing the same thing and I ended up grounding it to the radio harness and it works!
Excellent!
I created a relay use a 12v relay like one a fuel pump relay with a connecting base. Work like a charm when you hook the wires up correctly.
Hey , I used one of the blank switch holders for a feature my model doesn’t have. So unless your car has every option , go and pay 4 bucks for a toggle that fits perfectly in a recess made for such a purpose. My install looks stock and instead of wiring to parking brake I run to a switch installed in the dash using existing hole . Just take the blank out and snap the new switch in it’s place. Or just wire it to your p brake ! Don’t watch dvds unless you parked and ready to make out lol!
Yo big homie you just saved me $105 done in Birmingham Alabama. Car stereo company said I needed an update 😂😂😂👍💯
💯
Awesome info thank you I need to ground it out I didn't think of a switch or your cool bypass
Thanks bro. I appreciate the video just helped me a ton.
Thanks for video, I should have spent more on the higher model pioneers. Jailbreaking the video lock on the DMH-2660nex is a serious headache. My patriot had a broken pioneer, so got the 2660 pioneer last night, used the same wiring already adapted, so appears former owner didn't hook up that green bypass to a ground, or any other bypass method. I'll have to pull new one back out and try to do this. :)
This worked for me! I just wired it to my ground! Thanks bro.
No problem 👍
Ordered a bypass, but my remote wire dont seem to be putting out.. Wouldnt power backup camera, and nothing on test light nor multimeter.. 😬
Love you used a Milwaukee battery as a power source for the stereo

The best
Thanks bro. This worked just by grounding it
Well done j.p.better than super cheap tec s .keep up the good work .
i like the toggle switch the best, that way i can disable it whenever i want so i don't get caught with a movie playing if i get pulled over. Some people might think it's cumbersome to have to switch it on, off, on, after you start it up, but it's no more cumbersome than playing with a light switch.
Dude what great information I was! Thank you very much that was the best video I've watched for an install! I did not know what to do with the pink B- wire
I have a 2014 infinity QX80 with a factory DVD UNIT. Do you think any of these methods will work for me? And if so which one do you recommend?
Much appreciated! Just installed a Pioneer unit in a 05 Malibu for a friend and I couldn't figure out how to get this done as it has a foot parking brake instead a hand brake. Thanks for the content!!
No problem man thanks for watching dont forget to share
Thanks for this video, I had a Sony XAV60 and the bypass on that was easy. I now have a pioneer and it requires post that you mentioned. thanks to your video, I'm going to go with the switch method.
What is the easy way to deal with the Sony if you could share - or anyone for that matter? Just take the green parking cable to ground and be done? (I guess Method#1 from video). Thanks in advance.
@@boombeef Yep, connecting the (light green) parking cable to ground worked for my Sony XAV60.
Thanks alot bro.. Saw your vid and my dvd works great.. Thank god for youtube cuz it saves alot of money to go get it installed
Thank you very much for this video. I tried the relay and it wouldn’t work. Called the mfg and they explained they no longer make the relay to bypass the brake line. It’s just primarily used to limit the sub “pop”. My parking break lead to the head unit isn’t working so I legitimately couldn’t even install the alpine head unit as mfg intended. I had to put in the switch and after so much madness installing this head unit and not being able to get anything to work.. dude I was stoked the toggle switch worked immediately. I really thank you for this video. I would’ve been stuck with this alpine head unit and never been able to actually use it. 🤙🏼
I just bought a Pioneer AVH-A215BT, I'm installing it today. Thanks for heads up, great video ! Cheers from Down Under !!
Good work! Stinking pioneer with the pulse, can’t just ground it!
Thank you I just got a new unit an the tips worked just like you said 👍
Thank you for that video definitely helped i will be picking this up aspap for my pioneer what is the link
I like the toggle switch idea. Nice work and great video brother. Thanks!
Wow! I’m looking for a quick video on connecting the parking brake to the radio and was completely ignorant on the subject. Hit your video first, learned everything I wanted to know plus a few options and you even provided me with the link to buy it. Almost forgot: my radio is the same one you’re using for demonstration! In and out in about five minutes!
THANK YOU!!
Wooooow thats whats up man im glad it helped you out so much. Thanks for watching
Thanks bro !! Got a pioneer and the second way worked great !
I am needing a video of how to hook up factory back up camera to after market radio I have seen some videos online and they ain’t very specific this might be helpful to other viewers too
Great video nice & easy bro... have great day...
I use M12 batts the same way! Works perfect for bench testing
Hero of the day bruh 😂🤙
hi, great video I only have one parking wire coming out of the back of the radio. Will your pulse connector work. thanks
Thanks for showing my favorite gospel group! Lol the Canton Spriturals !
hey G, thank you for the Pioneer specific info.. was exactly what I needed..
Thanks bro and dont worry about when you said it wrong on step 2 we all make mistakes that's that's makes us human great vid very helpful
I appreciate that
Thanks man for sharing that! I gotta do this asap! Love your channel.
What’s the difference between glancing at a movie or the gps map in the same place. Or maybe your passenger would like to watch a movie will you are driving!
Great explanation! Where would the yellow wire be wired to for an alpine radio?
I just ground mine to a bolt it worked just fine with a pioneer a340dab
Great video very informative and simple to follow thanks!
The first thing worked for me thx man
Awesome Video! Great job! I have a question. If I have an amp connected to my main speakers and another amp connected to my sub am I using the "pre-outs" because my JVC deck says I won't get the "beep tone" If I'm using pre-out connected and I didn't wire my stereo. My bro has amps and stuff like crazy on his deck and still gets a beep tone when touching menus and such. I WANT the beep tones and they're turned on but I don't hear anything.....any idea? TY
Your the man! The 2nd step worked for me I have a pioneer
awesome
If I turn off the car and turn it on again, I get the message to block watching videos, how do I connect it so that it is automatic and the message does not appear again? Thanks Bro
@@guillermorojas9656 what method are you trying to do? I have mine were I use a switch to turn it on and off
@@howdoyoulikedemapples6491 Modern model avh-201ex, it works for me, but when I turn off and on again the screen lock message returns.
@@guillermorojas9656 what I'm understanding is that when you turn your vehicle on and off the message pops up so the message shows up again? If yes then that is normal the double din needs to be tricked Everytime it turns off and back on
Hey Jp...my name is Darlene and I bought a pioneer avh2550nex. It's been perfect for two yrs. until recently. When I turn on it plays for like 30sec and amp error. Wtf? Any suggestions
