I have a Pioneer AVH 2330 NEX and the micro bypass worked like a champ. Grounding by itself was ineffective. Easy to install. Ordered from Amazon on Monday and had it by Thursday. Can't complain. It works!
I don’t see how, all I got was “hook these two, and hook these two” and then a microsecond of a visual of a bunch of wires narrated by “you’ll wanna strip em first, this is just to show you...” constructive criticism, if you’re making a tutorial it’s most effective to verbally as well as visually describe what you’re doing. “I connect the xxx wire to the yyy wire, then connect the aaa wire to the bbb wire, like this and then pause long enough for a person to see what you did. I just ended up being frustrated and ended the video right there.
Thank you guys, i ordered the component from Amazon and i’m waiting for it. i will let you know my feedback after installation. Very good job, congratulations.
Thank you for this vid. I was like there is no freaking blue wire coming out my harness. Then you said blue/white remote..Now I'm gtg!! Works perfect. Now to hook up the camera gonna search for a video on that
$3 toggle switch from Walmart battery section. Green wire from radio (parking brake wire) to one side, ran another wire from other side to a switched fuse under steering wheel. That easy. Turn the switch on and off when wanting to watch a dvd while driving. Takes about 1.2 seconds to complete the sequence of on-off-on. Mounted the switch directly in between my front a/c vents so its super accessible.
I've been looking for a video like this the pass week and finally found one that explains all I need to install my pioneer ... thank you guys for a great video now if you can upload one where we can see all wiring process I will really appreciate it thank you again...
yes sir... I'm trying to connect my pioneer in my 2006 ford expedition and i can't figure out how to wiring the steering wheel control kit .. or the bypass .. thank you for your response...
your going to do this and then your going to do this. Would have been nice to say your going to take green and connect to light green and so on. this video is just do this and do then and then we will do this. Well after watching over and over again I got it. Still giving thumbs up. Thanks.
It’s kind of funny .... five star audio uTube videos are normally first rate. However, this one actually doesn’t show a good close up of the Pioneer harness wiring connections to the bypass. The installer, is way zoomed out when he is doing the actual connections stating “you just connect this wire to this one etc.”. You can’t actually see how it is hooked up. Just some constructive feedback....
Easy way to test the micro bypass ! Thanks guys! I was having some issues, and wasn’t sure if it was working properly , you just saved me from pulling my stereo out
The System Remote Control wire and the Ground wires, do they also need to be connected with the ground and rc wires from the harness for the car? My Metra Toyota harness also has a ground wire and a rc wire, do I connect them too? Or tape those off..?
So when you do the Method Turn On and Off are you turning the Engine on or just going to ACC and turning on and off like when programming a New Remote Key for your car ?
I was having a problem with a bypass module from Amazon. I ended up just hooking it up with the reverse positive that came up to the front of the truck with the backup camera AV input. Solved the problem and was able to access all settings on a Pioneer MVH-1400NEX.
Hooked up the way you explained the bypass micro bypass and now when I put in part seat belt is on doors closed I get continuous chime from vehicle 98 Mazda b3000
I'm wanting to install a parking brake bypass on a stock ford stereo. However, when I located the green, black and blue wires I found there was either conduction shield or what I think may be called bare wire running alongside these three wires. Question is.. how do I deal with the bare wite when installing the parking brake bypass? Please excuse my verbage and terminology - I'm new to this. Thanks for your time.
I wired up a Pioneer unit a few years ago using a relay connected to the remote (blue) wire, what happens is the headunit powers up and when on it would trigger the remote wire which then opens the relay which was wired for the green wire to be grounded when triggered by the headunti
After connecting my bypass an information message pops up pretty much saying please don’t use this while driving and it’s an ok button but the ok button is grayed out and it won’t allow my mirror link only can hear sound
I just received my AVH-W4500NEX and watched your Vid. I am new to this so once I do the on screen touch of the lower left hand corner I DO NOT NEED the BYPASS to have full function. Thank you in advance
Ok guys question installed pioneer AVH-7800 and all new door speakers front and rear. Just noticed tonight the rear door speakers and factory subwoofer which I installed new subwoofer as well r working but not the front door speakers. I used the easy factory wire harness setup plugged all wires right and made sure I connected speaker wires + & - so should be no issues on anything being crossed. So I seen something on a page about unplugging back speakers and it all works and others things I seen but not sure where to turn from this point I didn't know this was going on til someone pointed it out to me cause truthful rear speakers r loud but I want all speakers to work right.
Do you know if it is standard mode or network mode? You can check by going to see if you have balance and fader or just balance. What type of car is it in.
+Five Star Car Stereo not sure which I think I figured it out the store didn't have the correct harness and gave me another one to try and so now I have the one they said was for mine the first time but was out of stock. Mine has factory amp and now I have the amp bypass harness which is 2 harnesses. Does this sound right to you guys
1st thanks for trying to teach me I tried for weeks just couldn’t get it .. finally took my truck to a pro and it was fine for about 21/2 months My question is what could go wrong with the red wire plugged up to my cigarette outlet ? the one on the right that’s constantly on . I am just trouble shooting I figure while I am already in the radio (The light green wire) bypassing the reverse input I mine as well fix it if have to thanks again
I did today I was wrong the cig. Lighter is not constantly on , so when I put the multi meter on it, car off it reads 00 when I turn it on or asserory it’s 12.4 to 12.57 ? I did not wire this this was done by a pro. 2012 Ram 1500 installed a pioneer amp 5 channel two custom boxed 10” Rockford Fosgate punches under the rear seats and 61/2” kickers in the rear doors, and in the front doors Rockford Fosgate 63/4” Components T1675 (I think that’s what the number is ) it sounds good but what do I know ..
@notchjohnson1Yes, he did and that was not the purpose that they were describing it's use for in the video. They were showing it's purpose as to unlock screen features that you can not use while driving. They didn't mention anything about eliminating the need to park and apply the ebrake in order to use the DVD player. So if you are saying that he is spot on at his assumption, you have a correct statement.
I have following wire colors, which one I need to connect the light green wire you have mentioned in your video? Yellow - 12V Constant Red - 12V Accessory Black - Ground Orange - Dash Light Dimmer/Illumination Green - Left Rear Speaker (+) Green with Black Stripe Left Rear Speaker (-) White - Left Front Speaker (+) White with Black Stripe - Left Front Speaker (-) Purple - Right Rear Speaker (+) Purple with Black Stripe - Right Rear Speaker (-) Gray - Right Front Speaker (+) Gray with Black Stripe - Right Front Speaker (-) Compatibility List: 2008 - 2012 SMART FOR 2
M. Yigit Karakilic the lt green wire for the bypass goes to the lt green in the Pioneer harness not the factory power plug adapter. The long lt. Green wire on the Pioneer plug, green to green.
Hello I just pick this up I wired up to my pioneer avh241 ex it won’t work Do I have to ground it to a different ground instead of the factory wiring ? Thank you
Good afternoon gentlemen thank you for awesome demonstration I just bought a Ford F-150 and it has this radio the radio if I don't put my seatbelt on we'll go blank but now when I put my seatbelt on as I'm pulling out of the parking space the radio is not turning on but when I put it in reverse the radio turns on there's something blow inside is Radio I really could use your help this is Hell driving with no radio
You still connect that black ground wire to the wire harness also right? Like when you are wiring your head units harness to the factory harness you simply add that by pass black to the headunit and factory harness correct?
Instructions with my micro bypass say that I have to connect one of the wires to my BLUE/White amp turn-on wire on my pioneer radio. HOWEVER, my car also requires a 5V STEP DOWN which is also supposed to be attached to the BLUE/white wire. Will these 2 connections live in harmony? Or will they screw each other up?
Hi, I need your help, I have an x-Japanese DVD Navigation with a reviser camera monitor and it has parking assistance when you turn Right and Left lines which workes with the steering wheel. now I am going for a new Pioneer and need to know if the Pioneer will support this Parking assistance system.
Does This Work For The Back-Up Camera or Just To Watch It While I Drive? I Have A Toggle Switch So I Was Wondered Did I Need This Also - Thanks In Advance
Hooked this up on my Winnebago RV with the AVH 3800 but now the parking brake alarm go's offon the RV, and I can't get it to shut off so had to disconnect the ground. Would it matter if I don't ground to the black wire and ground to radio frame or something?
I just bought a Pioneer AVH-601EX and planning on using this bypass. Will this allow me to monitor my backup camera while driving also? (All aftermarket items)
In the instructions it says to connect the vehicles black wire to the black wire from the radio and the black wire on the bypass. Is that true? I hooked this up and the check engine light came on.
What if I dont have an amp or anything hooked up to the remote wire? Will it work if I just plug the bypass wire into the remote wire on the head unit if the remote wire isnt hooked to anything else?
I installed a micro bypass about 12 months ago for my pioneer AVH-Z55250BT, but I have an issue where it doesn’t always work properly. Most times I turn the car on the greyed out settings flash on and off and it’s 50/50 whether they’ll be available when moving or not. Any ideas?
Bought one hooked it up and works great, only issue im having is the parking brake light stays on on the dash. Should i disconnect the original ebrake wire that goes past the microbypass ? 13 silverado
first check if you have a safe mode in the options somewhere in the radio. if so, put safe mode off, then you ony have to connect the green breakwire to the ground cable and you dont need the bypass.
Hi I really found your video helpful, although tomorrow I will connect that light green wire into my bypass and also ground it and connect to remote. The issue I encounter was my rear view cam. It will not work properly and I went to a audio shop. They could not figure out the issue. I hope this helps turn on my rear view cam as I already connected the purple and white wire to the rear back up power lights. And also grounded the black wire. Rca is connected also. I will see if this solves the issue thank you sir
If you do not have an exterior amp do you connect the blue/white wire on both the car harness and stereo harness to the microbypass or just the blue/white wire from the stereo to the microbypass?
Bill Hoffer depends on the car, it may have a factory amp or an antenna that needs the blue/white also. To be safe I would connect both, car and bypass to radio.
I just finished installing my AVH-X2700BS in a 2015 tahoe. was a pain in the butt, but got done. A few issues that I have is now the new unit don't tell me the outside temperature which is a bummer but can deal with it. I have a couple of questions. 1: how can I watch movies from a phone or thumb drive, and how can I add an image of my own as the background? Thanks. Big thumbs up on your videos.
I have installed DMH A345BT, which can only set my steering wheel control on settings.. Afte my car's swc responses on pioneer head unit's settings, it does not working.. Until settings only. Do you think this is the only issue, on brake wiring which my installer does not bother to touch it..please help, thanks
Hmm, I'm about to do this on my car but the blue/white wire doesn't get connected on my car because it can cause problems with the speedometer signal. Is there somewhere else I can connect the blue one for it to work? 12v switched power maybe?
Or maybe I can still connect it as is since this will still get a signal coming out of the radio on the blue/white wire even though it doesn't need to connect to my vehicle harness right?
I have an 08 trailblazer and am using the gmos-01 harness. Does the brake wire from the gmos harness get connected to the micro bypass as well or just the green one off of the pioneer harness?
Can you elaborate on the part where you say "So now you're going to take these two here - connect them together... you're going to do this, and then you're going to do this"?
I already have a remote wire ran to my amp from fuse block with factory radio. Do need to connect it to aftermarket radio for the radio to send power to sub output AVIC-8200NEX. Cause as of right now I am not getting sound from sub output.
Im pretty new to head units and just purchased the pioneer AVS X2800bs. I just found out about the brake switch and was pissed, so the above micro bypass is what I need, so my passenger could input gps info, watch dvd, etc.? Thanks.
I have this exact pioneer deck, I just installed the PAC by pass.. but it didn’t work, I’ve trial and error with different wires and such and still can’t get it to work. Any other ideas ?
So my brand new one won't play DVDs whether I'm parked or not, even with the brake on and the car not running. Will this help with that as well? Or is it just for disabling it while not parked?
Thanks for this video. You guys have the best videos for stereo installation. Question I have is if the green parking brake wire is connected already. Do I disconnect the parking brake wire and tap the green bypass wire to it. Or keep the parking brake connected and tap the bypass wire to it?
Hi I was wondering do you have to connect the black ground wire to the wiring harness from my car as well? so will I have three black wires connected or do i not have to use my ground cables from my actual car wiring harness at all?
I installed the MicroBypass on my Pioneer head unit. However, there are still some system settings that I can't access like steering wheel control. I ended up disconnecting the bypass and using the parking brake wire temporarily just to be able to program the steering wheel buttons to my head unit. Otherwise, the bypass does it job.
Hey Guys, great video! I bought this from you Saturday, and installed it. Works great, but now my brake light is on all the time. Did I do something Wrong?
Love that yall dont give a whole history of radios b4 starting to give the info people are actually looking for. You get to the point and I love it!
Appreciate the toggle switch reference brought a project car with the Bluetooth issue and didn't know why the toggle switch was wired to the radio 📻
I smashed the like button for Fernando... He is a definite asset to your organization.
I have a Pioneer AVH 2330 NEX and the micro bypass worked like a champ. Grounding by itself was ineffective. Easy to install. Ordered from Amazon on Monday and had it by Thursday. Can't complain. It works!
Hey man, very cool simple instructional video. No if, ands,or butts. You told me what I needed, no more no less.

yes sir... I'm trying to connect my pioneer in my 2006 ford expedition and i can't figure out how to wiring the steering wheel control kit .. or the bypass .. thank you for your response...

Just got an AVH 2300NEX. Grounding works fine
Cdogg2233 did you use the instructions in the video or did you take a diff approach?
You can also use a 3 dollar 5 pin relay for the bypass.
That works on any radio iv done so many fk why none else has figured it out
hmm thought a penny was involved in this process
lol
It is. It's in the form of actual labor you will use up installing this little gem.
I just got a pioneer avh-z5250bt and grounded the handbrake cable and it works fine WITHOUT BYPASS
2:19 that delay nope thank you.
The System Remote Control wire and the Ground wires, do they also need to be connected with the ground and rc wires from the harness for the car? My Metra Toyota harness also has a ground wire and a rc wire, do I connect them too? Or tape those off..?

Same question...
Did you find an answer? I have the bluetooth settings working but not able to do video.
I was having a problem with a bypass module from Amazon. I ended up just hooking it up with the reverse positive that came up to the front of the truck with the backup camera AV input. Solved the problem and was able to access all settings on a Pioneer MVH-1400NEX.
Never thought about hooking to reverse wire good idea
Thanks for the easy explanation, any other car radios have this feature or just Pioneer?
Will the green wire coming out of a pioneer AVH exposed and potentially making contact with something cause battery drain?
I bought a pioneer AVH-5800BHS. I simply grounded the long green wire to a bolt and am able to access everything.
That bright green wire?
What did you do to the yellow/black MUTR wire??
Does this allow you use the dvd player/stream a video without it being in park with the brake on?
how cheap do you have to be that you would rather sit there and diddle with a toggle switch each time in lieu of paying $10-$15
unbelievable lack of comprehension
@News Now Baytown its not being lazy. Its being smart
Cool.
I have a Jensen CAR8000 and a PAC ch4-11 harnes. I want to keep my rear cam and ceiling monitors (VES) What other harnes do I need?
Hooked up the way you explained the bypass micro bypass and now when I put in part seat belt is on doors closed I get continuous chime from vehicle 98 Mazda b3000
I'm wanting to install a parking brake bypass on a stock ford stereo. However, when I located the green, black and blue wires I found there was either conduction shield or what I think may be called bare wire running alongside these three wires. Question is.. how do I deal with the bare wite when installing the parking brake bypass? Please excuse my verbage and terminology - I'm new to this. Thanks for your time.
This is my first time doing this…. The light green wire once they’re connected, do I connect it to a wire in the parking brake wire?
Notice this video is from 5 years ago. Would you recommend attempting this method for an AVH model that released in 2020.? The AVH 521..
I wired up a Pioneer unit a few years ago using a relay connected to the remote (blue) wire, what happens is the headunit powers up and when on it would trigger the remote wire which then opens the relay which was wired for the green wire to be grounded when triggered by the headunti
Hey it worked but the parking brake light is always on now,is it safe to drive and is there a work around?
would like to know do you guys install heads up displays in cars
Added one to my Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD and yes,it does work but I have a ton of noise now I didnt notice before
After connecting my bypass an information message pops up pretty much saying please don’t use this while driving and it’s an ok button but the ok button is grayed out and it won’t allow my mirror link only can hear sound
I just received my AVH-W4500NEX and watched your Vid. I am new to this so once I do the on screen touch of the lower left hand corner I DO NOT NEED the BYPASS to have full function. Thank you in advance
dumb question, but do I connect the bypass to the Toyota wire harness and the alpine black cable? As three all together??
Is this the procedure to bypass the dvd player lockout feature when brake is not engaged
Ok guys question installed pioneer AVH-7800 and all new door speakers front and rear. I did today I was wrong the cig. Lighter is not constantly on , so when I put the multi meter on it, car off it reads 00 when I turn it on or asserory it’s 12.4 to 12.57 ?

Do you need to do this for a stick shift vehicle
For the toggle switch, do you hook up the light green wire that is on the wiring harness directly to the toggle switch?
Love your channel, I have learned so much.
Installed and works. Only issue is the in dash parking break light remains on. Is that normal?
so i jus needa wire that bypass to those ? and itll work jus like that or how do i do it
Will this Bypass eliminate the issue where I have to park and put on the break in order to watch a DVD?
Yes it will.
@notchjohnson1Yes, he did and that was not the purpose that they were describing it's use for in the video. M. Yigit Karakilic the lt green wire for the bypass goes to the lt green in the Pioneer harness not the factory power plug adapter. The long lt. Green wire on the Pioneer plug, green to green.
Thank you for that clarification - because I didn't see any Light Green cable!
Will this work with pioneer AVH-2550NEX ??

You still connect that black ground wire to the wire harness also right? Like when you are wiring your head units harness to the factory harness you simply add that by pass black to the headunit and factory harness correct?
+Zpwslayer Yes you got it. The wires just tap into your harness
Will the micro-bypass work for my Pioneer 4100-NEX?
Do you need a switch with it or is it just the bypass
Great video guys. Just one quick question. After installing the bypass, how do I ground the wires in a nissan? Thankyou
Does the vehicle parking brake wire have to be sliced or does this bypass it completely?
Does This Work For The Back-Up Camera or Just To Watch It While I Drive? I Have A Toggle Switch So I Was Wondered Did I Need This Also - Thanks In Advance
LMNOP SixOneEight it is just for the video and to unlock so of the menus. The switch is fine.
So Is There Any Way I Can Hook The Purple Camera Wire To A Bypass Or Does It Have To Be The Reverse Wire?
LMNOP SixOneEight it needs to go to the lights if you want it to come on in reverse. If not you can just turn it on and off on the screen.
Hooked this up on my Winnebago RV with the AVH 3800 but now the parking brake alarm go's offon the RV, and I can't get it to shut off so had to disconnect the ground. Would it matter if I don't ground to the black wire and ground to radio frame or something?
Will this make back up camera work?
you guys are awsome love the way you explain stuff
I have the same problem with pioneer fhp5000mp...is the bypass can be solved on the player model?
I just bought a Pioneer AVH-601EX and planning on using this bypass. Will this allow me to monitor my backup camera while driving also? (All aftermarket items)
Ever have one backfeed and keep radio from shutting off with ignition?? Worked fine before bypass install
In the instructions it says to connect the vehicles black wire to the black wire from the radio and the black wire on the bypass. Is that true?
I hooked this up and the check engine light came on.

I have installed DMH A345BT, which can only set my steering wheel control on settings.. Afte my car's swc responses on pioneer head unit's settings, it does not working.. Until settings only. Do you think this is the only issue, on brake wiring which my installer does not bother to touch it..please help, thanks
I have a planet audio stereo, does that work for it too??
Any idea where do I plug in the violet/white for the reverse wire signal on 2008 Silverado
Will this bypass work to be able to watch DVDs while driving?
Jalok yes
Hi, is this same method still required and valid on current Pioneer models like this one? PIONEER DMH-1500NEX. Thanks
I just bought the 4200NEX and everything works except the sound. Would the lack of connecting the parking brake wire cause this?
I have an 08 trailblazer and am using the gmos-01 harness. Does the brake wire from the gmos harness get connected to the micro bypass as well or just the green one off of the pioneer harness?
Can you elaborate on the part where you say "So now you're going to take these two here - connect them together... you're going to do this, and then you're going to do this"?
5 star car stereo, what do you mean by turning the car off 3 times? Have the parking brake wire grounded and turn the car complety on and off?
KawiRider383 the E break procedure for the radio is -- e break off / turn car on / e break-on-off-on/ radio is now unlock.
I already have a remote wire ran to my amp from fuse block with factory radio. Do need to connect it to aftermarket radio for the radio to send power to sub output AVIC-8200NEX. Cause as of right now I am not getting sound from sub output.
Thank you so much for this video it works perfectly
Hi guys, does PAC TR4 works as like this one parking bypass on Pioneer?
Thanks
Im pretty new to head units and just purchased the pioneer AVS X2800bs. I just found out about the brake switch and was pissed, so the above micro bypass is what I need, so my passenger could input gps info, watch dvd, etc.? Thanks.
Yes that will fix the problem so you never have to worry about it.
My pioneer 2400nex can be bypassed by simply connecting the green to a ground in the harness. No need for adapter.
Can you show the step to install the pac RP4.2-BM21 to steering wheel control for bmw and the steps for all wiring? I'm having a hard time. Thank you
Thanks for this video. You guys have the best videos for stereo installation. Question I have is if the green parking brake wire is connected already. Do I disconnect the parking brake wire and tap the green bypass wire to it. Or keep the parking brake connected and tap the bypass wire to it?
Disconnect the wire going to the break, only connect to the bypass
Hi I was wondering do you have to connect the black ground wire to the wiring harness from my car as well? so will I have three black wires connected or do i not have to use my ground cables from my actual car wiring harness at all?
GS Three yes connect all the black wires together. Car+ radio+ bypass
What exactly is locked out by this parking brake wire? Im about to install my first pioneer and weighing up if it's worth living with
When the car is moving u can't see video. And with that micro the stereo think your park
Can you still use the remote wire at the sametime for the remote wire for the amp.
Hey Guys, great video! I bought this from you Saturday, and installed it. Works great, but now my brake light is on all the time. Did I do something Wrong?
Great video. I do have a Pioneer, I did buy the bypass, can I still tie the blue/wht to amp?
