It looks stunning on you! May I give you a tip: Take some measurements from you toile and you have a base to compare with on every new pattern you want to make ( regarding size choice)
The important measurements: for me would be.
Length (These measurement does not change int terms of ease)
    - from the Shoulder-line (neck point and middle of shoulder seam) down to your bustpoints and the than
    - down to your waist.
(defines the Horizontal Position of bustpoint and your waist) Theses measurements change only, if you are wearing different typs of bras.
    Width
    - distance between your bustpoints, (defines a vertical LINE where YOUR bustpoint is located on every pattern
    - Bust Circumference for the front and for the back separately (this makes cup sizing problems obvious).
    - across your bust half way of the armhole (interesting for forward shoulder/"collapsing" breast issues
These measurements should help you getting the right size for tops and dresses so much easier and you can use it for any patterncompany
⚠This is meant as a helping hint not as a "teachers advise" if you know what I mean and might be helpful for other too..

I think your set is lovely but that’s a lot of fiddling to get it right. I never did intend to buy this pattern as the Safira trousers work for me and they are so similar. I’ve finished my coord set with New look 6217 top and it’s worked out well although I don’t like the pockets so won’t bother another time. I may put a different style pocket in another pair. I’m about to pack my set for Tenerife with my whole family tomorrow. I think toiling is great but rarely can be bothered. I applaud your efforts👏🏻👏🏻😃

It was a lot of faffing you’re right and if I wasn’t doing a collaboration I might not have persevered, but I am so glad I did 😊
Really glad your co ord set worked out well.
Totally agree toiling is not fun 🙈😂
      Thank you 😊

Hi Angela, Thank you so much for all the tips and alterations you made to the Esti top. I found I needed them all to make mine work as well ie higher dart placement, moving the strap. Your set is gorgeous! and what motivated me to buy the pattern. I love watching your very informative videos and seeing a small slice of life in your beautiful part of the world. Your daughter too is a credit to you. Shaun x (shaun._gl)

Thanks Angela! I'm using the Lutterloh System and the bust dart bit has helped immensely. X

    • @DevonThreadTales
      @DevonThreadTales  Год назад

I had a little look at that system as I’ve never heard of it before your comment, what an interesting way to construct patterns.
      Thank you 😊

Yes, I love connecting the dots but I had to do a fba so I used the high bust measurement for half of the armscye (?) and then the full bust for the rest. Just like the pivot and slide method I've just discovered for fbas.😊

I’ve been sitting on the fence in regards to getting this pattern, probably due to the issues regarding fit. After your excellent tutorial about adjusting the top to fit, and your beautiful result, I’m more likely to get it now. Thank you.

This is excellent. Its’s so good to see the alterations and you explained so clearly. What a gorgeous set you’ve made. I wasn’t at all interested in this pattern before but your version nearly convinced me. It does seem like a lot of fiddling to a pattern that surely should have been tested a bit better before release?

Thank you so much! Yes I agree, it is a shame I just hope people can have a go and adjust it easy enough for themselves as the results are lovely 😊.

Beautiful set you have made, you look great in it. But I can't help but think that ithe pattern is poorly drafted with all that surplus at the top front and all the alterations that you had to do to get it to fit - it should be a simple top after all. I have narrow shoulders so it won't be for me. Glad the trousers were straightforward!
