The Seekers had a special world class sound, those guys could really sing [and write songs], and Judith was frosting on the cake, they blended so good together. This song conjures up sweet memories of my family and times in 1965

The Seekers were another great Australian folk pop band from the 60's. Judith Durham had such a beautiful voice. She just passed away recently. They had so many great hits including "Georgy Girl", "The Carnival Is Over", "A World Of Our Own", "Morningtown Ride", "Someday, One Day" etc. They have beautiful voices & harmonies. They don't make nostalgic music like this anymore. Reminds me of a simpler time.

The Seekers recorded this song in the main studio at Abby Road. Usually reserved for the studio owners, The Beatles. They were produced by Tom Springfield, Dusty Springfield's brother. They knocked the Beatles out of 1st place with this song

Never grows old; simply & real musical talent, great harmony & Judith’s exquisite voice.

The Seekers started out playing on cruise ships . They are from Austrailia . They found there way to the uk in the early 60s Tom Springfield wrote this for them Who is incedently Dusty Springfield brother . . This became a hit and the rest is history ,m They even gave the Beatles a run for there money back then JjUDITH DURAM had a beautiful voice . They had many hits and were a very popular Folk band . Judith split from the band in 1967 but rejoined them in the 90s . They kept playing until about 2015 . Sad;ly Judith Passed on about a year ago . Great Folk band very well known back in the day .THANKS TASHA for bringing these guys to your channel John.

Before they worked their way to England on the Sitmar line cruise ship they had spent a year or two playing in Melbourne cafe venues, recording big selling folksong albums and appearing on the top rating Melbourne television program of the time.
That Australian success gave them a reason to be noticed in England off the boat.

The Seekers' folky music was so earnest, it strikes me as pretty corny today. But there's no getting around that strong, round voice of hers (tone for days!); and they were a disciplined and carefully rehearsed group.
