I fell in love with this song the first time that I heard it on the radio, way back in 1964. I still love it.
One of the best harmony groups ever.
My wife of 35 years died last year, and I know I'll never find another her. Wouldn't even try. At least I have those 35 years of wonderful memories, and this song to keep me going.
Never prouder to be an Aussie than when I hear that beautiful voice of Judith Durham
Judith is to folk music what Patsy Cline is to country music and Aretha Franklin is to soul music. I absolutely love her pure, strong voice.
Good on you, mate..however, I am a Kiwi but my family and I love all musicians and artists that have graced our shores, mainly from Australian and British singers..and The Seekers are simply a gem
I'm a kiwi living in Brizzy..I grew up listening to the Seekers, and Kiwis absolutely love Judith and the guys
I'm not an Aussie, but hearing Judith Durham's angelic voice makes me proud to be a human being.
Judith makes me want to be an Aussie so badly...
i cant help myself falling in love with judith angelic face and most of all her beautiful voice, but i know ill never find another her,
perhaps in the other side of life i could search her.❤❤
One of the most underrated voices of all time. When you ask people about the five best female voices of all time, Karen Carpenter’s voice usually makes the list, deservingly so, but Judith´s name is rarely included in that list. Try to find 4 other female voices more beautiful than Judith’s!
One of the greatest vocalist of her time!
Totally agree, Mike
Or any time!
Also a very good pianist.
All time
I once met Judith Durham, in 1965 outside Hamleys toy store in Regents street , London. I gave her a lollipop and she kissed me on the cheek :)
She had a unique golden voice
The Seekers were an exceptional group, and Judith Durham was a singer in a million .....
This is one of the greatest songs of all time .....
Love from Manchester UK.
I still love the Seekers.
Ok can't stop watching. I don't know if it's Judith Durhams incredible voice, how beautiful she is, how humble she appears, that she is the type of girl you could take home and know that your mother would approve, but I fall for her every time i watch the Seekers. Never understood why her self consciousness got the better off her and she left the band. Half the men in the world were in love with her back then including me .
AND me
I'm with you on that my friend she was an angel
Agreed - I listen to The Carnival is Over over and over just to hear Judith deliver the line (twice!) "Like a drum my heart was beating / And your kiss was sweet as wine". It always feels like she's singing right to me.
I agree with everyone here. Everytime I see her in these videos, I fall for her again and again.
RIP Judith, sweet angel.
James Morgan, all that and more, her glorious voice their beautifuly harmony and the genuine Aussie humility of the whole group.
Judith Durham has a voice that cannot be beat. The Seekers harmonies are quite unique.
Never grows old; simply & real musical talent, great harmony & Judith’s exquisite voice.
Even up to their retirement from almost a decade ago, The Seekers have maintained that great distinctive sound.
Listen early & often to The Seekers playlists.
This lovely lady has passed in the last two weeks. What a shame. The world is a sadder place for her leaving our world.
So beautiful
Judith Durham still has the voice of an angel. So pleased i lived through the 60s.
It's about time someone got round to the sublime Judith Durham!
The Seekers were a brilliant group. Great musicians, great harmony and the simply beautiful voice of Judith Durham, who was a phenomenal singer! Judith was a treasure! God bless her!
Judith Durham's voice is beyond compare, what a fantastic group with beautiful music that will never be replicated
Excellent the Best.
The Seekers are a natioanal treasure!
Something about 60's music. Cool and groovy. :)
So pretty, such a talented unique singer. R IP kitten
Judith Durham passed away last night in Melbourne aged 79. Very sad.
The Seekers are one of the best folk and classic group and they haven't changed their style. I just love Ms. Durham's voice, it's so peculiar and sweet ☺️☺️☺️🥰🥰😍😍
wow, Judith Durhams voice rings so clearly ....beautifully pure
listen to her voice in Morningtown Ride. So beautiful!!!
Or the carnival is over.
Australian legends. RIP JUDITH
This song's lyrics convey love in its purest form, and there is no voice better to convey it than Judith Durham. Nobody living or dead (even my favourite, Karen Carpenter, who I worship) can sing this better, in my opinion. They really don't write and perform music like they used to. There is no feeling left in the world, and the music reflects that.
Thank you Bob for paying for that song by the Seekers and thank you Kristin for playing it. What a beautiful song and the music and songs like this from the past will never get old and continue to bring a lot of joy to those who listen to them.😊👍👍
This was an ABSOLUTE pleasure! 😊🙌💕
My pleasure!
What a voice Judith Durham
Judith Durham is a fabulous singer. One of my favourite songs and one of my favourite videos.
She still sounds the same in her 70s.
Some of the notes Judith Durham hits could cut granite. Always superb!
Love the Seekers. Very classy group. Judith Durham is the bomb. Even today, she has such a beautiful voice. Great music.
To me, the best and most significant decade of music.
Judith Durham is the only singer I put in the same category as Karen Carpenter. And, that category is greatest of all time.
my two favourites.
I agree. Both different. Both beautiful.
Strangely enough and before I started reading these comments I was thinking about Karen Carpenter too. Karen and Judith's voice are definitely a cut above!
Judith Durham yes. Neither in the same class as Sandy Denny.
I would include Eva Cassidy in that category🙂
The greatest love song of all time!!!
The group in 2004 were still together and performed this song even BETTER almost 50 years later. The lead singer Judith Durham is among my top 10 female pop singers of all time. And they once performed this song in front of the largest outdoor crowd: 200,000
People!!! Over the years I’ve listened to this incredible song hundreds of times and never tire A classic that will live forever.
Top 10? I'd say she's at the very top. Her voice has purity, power', beauty spirituality and unlike most singers her unique voice has remained her entire life. Listen to how she lifts this incredible song but remains in harmony with her fantastic band members.
I'm glad such a high quality video was made of that 56 years ago. They need to put a copy of it in a time capsule!
The greatest jukebox find I ever made was this song in a dive bar in Portland. The tavern was lost to gentrification, but that was a staggering music box. Disco, folk, psychedelic, Beatles, metal, everything.
Wait what? The jukebox had a mix of all that? 😨 Somebody was waaaay ahead of their time!!
Australians! Their big hit was "Georgie Girl" which was used as a title song for a movie of the same name. Simply sublime. Their "Waltzing Matilda" and Aussie National Anthem is great as well.
Steven Sorrell 👊❤️🗣Steven! By gawd! I hope you are well! 🤜💥🤛

She’s still going strong at 70 and sounds exactly the same it’s incredible
Judith Durham should be a given on any list of the greatest female singers of all time. But sadly she is overlooked in America.
Who cares about the Sepos, they're just the mudguards of the world
love all the seekers records, Judith unbeatable vocals & Athol Guy WAS superman on bass.
This one's golden
One of my ALL TIME FAVORITES....What a BEAUTIFUL song and loving message...
Thankyou Chet! :)
A great Australian group & song!
Sadly, Judith Durham, the lead singer of The Seekers, died on August 5th of chronic lung disease in Melbourne, Australia.
There’s no other music that can come close to the 60s and70’s it’s all magical
I was a teenager in the 60's and so lucky to have been there
WAW your reaction is so cool, I love it. I can't understand why you tube blocks
certain videos, from where im'e watching you havn't done anything wrong.
anyway you have a cool natural vibe to haw you react, And your so young, This
music is decades old WAW it really blows my mind to see people like you saying
something about the sixties hah. that made me smile man. oh YEH did you notice
the Micheal Caine lookerlike playing the bass guitar LOL. good video mate.
Judith sounds just as good today, as she did in 1966.perfect pitch.
Thank you kristin for this song. Reminded of my uncle who introduced me to this song while I was still a boy. Music was pure those days
You sure are right 🙌💕
My mum loved this song hence i am thinking of her now,
We'll never find another you, Judith. RIP.
I love it too }
I remember The Seekers very well from my childhood. All we had back then was AM radio, and they played top 40 music 24/7. So even if you didn't like a certain song, you still knew every word to it. The Seekers were I guess what they called "Folk Rock." They sort of tried to have it both ways. Bob Dylan started the crossover in 1964 when he dared to play an electric guitar at a Folk Festival. After that the rocknroll people and radio stations totally excepted him over to the Dark side.(Rock and Roll) . Dylan was seen as a sell out and a traitor to the folk people. Eventually they got over it .
Nice little song from the past Kristin.
Thank you
It's 60's FOLK ROCK the best music of my life.
For those of us around in the 60's The Seekers bring back wonderful memories.
From Australia !!
Great song and reaction. I always loved this song. Dusty Springfield began her fantastic career with The Springfields, singing great songs including "Island Of Dreams" ,which reminds me of this song by The Seekers.
I think tom springfield wrote a few of there songs.
Yes he wrote pretty much all of their big hits. The Seekers did record Island of Dreams as well.
I have been in love with Judith from the age of 10
I'm very fortunate for this music..... the real artist and musician...... they will never... never be the same.... because of the , rhythm, harmony...and such....it's God's music.
I love this song! Its before my time but im thankful for my moms record collection and the oldies stations ☺
R.I.P. Judith Durham (July 3, 1943 - August 5, 2022 (age 79)
A song of my youth,I remember it well, the song I mean, not my youth!
That girl has "bangs",i knew I saw those before when I saw Diana from Russia!
I was into that type of music for a while: The Kingston Trio,The Limelighters,Peter,Paul,& Mary,Hootenanny,The Association!
"Those were the days my friends
I thought they would never end
Yes,yes,those were the days"!
I think I'll cry now! Have a good
day!
Just Kidding!
Boyd Otero 😂🤣👊🤘🙂
Kristin this is a lovely song but if you want to enjoy Judith Durhams voice you should listen to the seekers song I am Australian it will amaze you best wishes 💙
“Something about the 60s music” It’s only lightly processed. 🙂
a another great Aussie band....dad took me and girlfriend for my 13th birthday, to see them at the Palias Theatre in Melbourne Victoria, 1966. it was so fantastic.
I sang this to my hubby on our Anniversary 🥰💖, Lol
Judith was the sweetheart of Australian and American soldiers in Vietnam War. They performed many times in combat zones.
Wonderful to see young pretty girl from a different era enjoying the same song I liked so much in the 1960's.
Judith Dunham, no effort voice of an angel.
Did you know that this song was written by Dusty Springfield's brother Tom? Yep, it's true.
That is so cool to know! Thankyou!
Haha The cat playing the Double Bass has those Buddy Holly glasses. Good tune 💯💯
it's hard to believe such sweet idealistic music used to be the music of youth. I
Just beautiful ❤️🎵
Childhood memories from Down Under...Thanks Kali.
Beautiful melody & lyrics.
Aussies have lost 2 greats recently now we are praying for our favourite son. Would love your reaction to John Farnham, You're the Voice. Guarantee his voice and the song will move you!
The greatest love song of all time !
These are the same folks that sang the legendary song Georgie Girl the theme of the 1966 movie
Wow, you are all over the place! So much music out there...different genres, different times, different tastes, but all the same because music is art! Glad you checked this special group out! Cheers!
😁🙏 yep 👍
Kristin you do look very similar to Judith (singer) yeah u should wear your hair like that.. You are both very pretty, and the song is wonderful..
My youth was so much better because of Judith and the Seekers.
To the ONE dislike, i suggest you stay away from the INTERNET
🙏😁
now that goes for the other dislikes .. wouldn't know good music if it fell on them
Thank you, Girl, for showing this!
🥰
Terrific voices!
Number one
You are number one Madds!! Lets see how long these videos stay up!!
Saw them in concert in 2018 they were awesome😘
@m rapacki Glasgow concert hall
I was about 14/15 when this came out. I've always liked it, along with their other big records. They seemed really nice people.
I liked your post.
Wow nice😍😍
Sure, halfway the 60's the pop music started to move towards constructed albums with songs in cohesive mood. At the same time the skill of writing short songs that had everything needed wasn't lost yet.
Sweet reaction Kristin - and give the 'do a shot 😉
Loved your reaction, since I am a big Seekers fan I could not name just one song to suggest, however I think any of their most famous songs on youtube would do them justice.
Much much better than a lot of the modern songs. At least these people can write songs, play instruments, and can sing. LOL
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
another big hit of theres is [the carnival is over]
