That was a great video! We usually go to BBNP and BBRSP between the months of November and March. A lot less visitors and have been in Santa Elena Canyon when there were only a handful of hikers. We’ve hiked some of the trails such as the 4.8 mile Chimneys Trail when we met only 4 people. We were on Cattail Falls Trail when the only person we met during the entire hike was a park ranger. If we make it out there this fall, it will be the tenth trip in ten years. We can’t wait to return! Keep up the great work and we look forward to seeing your next video!
Thank you so much Doug! We will check out those hikes on our next visit. We went during spring break and some hikes we’re packed. Lost Mine Trail and Hot Springs had tons of folks hiking/swimming. The hike with the least folks was the Rio Grande Village Nature Trail. That trail was recommended to us by a park ranger. We want to visit Big Bend again in the fall. We also traveled to BBSP and that’s the next video we’re working on. That park was huge and wished I had a week visiting that park. We will return when Fort Leaton reopens later this year.
I was able to watch the full video this morning. You did a great job on this! I love Big Bend and have made 3 trips since moving back home to Texas at the end of 2018. I plan to spend Thanksgiving there this year.
Thanks Adam! It’s an amazing and can see why folks claim it as the #1 park in Texas. We plan on revisiting in May or April and can’t wait. What’s your favorite trail at the park?
As a Texan it's mind blowing to think that we have mountains that have little bit of New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and Utah in them. The best of of the west US all in West TX.
Davis Mountains, Big Bend and Franklin Mountains in El Paso are some of my favorite places in the state. I can’t forget about Palo Duro and Caprock Canyon too. Texas is so diverse and we have so much to see.
Great video!!! I've been a couple times to Big Bend. I need to go back...it's been a while. They also have some super cool VRBO rental properties out near the park that are very secluded. I've always wanted to stay at one of them - I bet it would be incredible.
Thank you Nick, we’re planning on going back later in the year. All the VRBO and AirBnB rentals were booked near terligua. We seen a few on the scenic drive back. Have you seen the bubble domes they have out there?
@@MrSTravelQuest I've seen them on TV. It would be awesome staying at one of those...especially at night looking through that dome window into that incredible Big Bend night sky. On a clear night the stars are epic out there!!
@@hikingwithjackieboy You will love Santa Elena! We missed out on the window on our last visit. Let me know how crowded it is. I’m curious to see the difference. We traveled there during spring break.
Hey Mr Sanchez it's me Johnathan I just wanted to say I miss you and you are my favorite teacher well the beast 5 grade teacher I always liked you not really fazz but yeah any ways I asked the principal if you still works at the school I think she said you work at the state park I'm still learning and remember all the things you taught me I will never forget all the things you did for are school miss you by and I hope you see this by now
Alpine a perfect place to stay. We stayed in Marfa and ate in Alpine after our visit in Big Bend. The Border town are safe. You can cross the river and your in Mexico. The only concern I would have is being prepared. Cell phone reception is limited and the nearest hospital from Big Bend is 100 miles away. What trails are y’all planning to hike?
You guys did a lot of hiking in two days. I was there in November a few years back. We hiked the Window trail and saw a black bear. We did another smaller trail but don't remember the name. The Santa Elena Canyon was the highlight of the trip. Can't wait to go back and do some camping in the back country. Did you guys stay in the park?
Yes we did tons of hiking inside the park in two day and then one day in Big Bend Ranch. We missed out on the window trails since they closed the road due to over crowding. Santa Elena Canyon was the highlight for us as well, it’s amazing and under 2 miles 😊. We can’t wait to go back later this year. We didn’t stay inside the park due to being Spring Break and no multi day camping spots. We’re hoping we can land a spot in the fall. The Rio Grande Village is where we want to camp 🏕
Have you ever thought about finding similar channels by creators in other states and doing some colabs to build your audience? Your channel is so high quality and everyone I recommend it to ends up loving it. I want to see you get the views you deserve :)
I have thought about doing cross collaborating with other channels. We are talking to some creators and seeing when’s a good time to meet. I appreciate the kind words, I’m in it for the long haul. I know in time the views/audience will come 😊
Big Bend is the most awe inspiring part of Texas! Guadalupe Mountains National Park as well. They're National Parks for a reason. The Chisos are beautiful!

@@MrSTravelQuest my favorite that I’ve hiked is Emory Peak.
We plan on doing that one in November. I know if we hiked that , it would be the only trail we would do. The views looks amazing from what I’ve seen.
April is the best time to visit! The entire desert is in bloom 💐
@@katiez688 we need to revisit to check out the others trails and flowers.
Looks like your family had a great time
