      Signed up. Is there any benefit to converting my US dollar account holding to the foreign local currency BEFORE I travel there as opposed to little by little while I'm there? I might opt for little by little if the currency exchange appears to be moving to my benefit.

    Hello there ! Is it possible to receive payments in American dollars despite not having a USD account balance in my wise account. My country is not listed in the list of countries able to open balances. Thank you.

      And not at all! If you're looking to withdraw money from your CAD balance to a local US account, you'll be able to select the target currency as USD in that same set-up process, and we'll do the conversion for you 😉 No additional steps necessary.

    Hi, i dont have the open account in my wise application even on the browser. Also, it says I need to send myself at least 21 GBP in my account to open USD account details.

      That's right, to get started with the Multi-currency account, open balances and get account details you need to make a one time top up - this amount will be available for you to spend, and if you wish, you'll be able to easily open other balances for the other currencies available 😉

      But we're working on making this feature available there again in the future.

      You won't be able to add money directly in EGP, but you can still use SWIFT to add money from an account in USD, GBP, or EUR: wi.se/swiftpayments

      Hey, Cheryl! You can make a scheduled transfer by following the steps below:
      - Select Send money
      - Confirm where you're sending from (your balance, or an external account)
      - Enter the amount you’d like to send
      - Select the calendar icon next to Continue to schedule your transfer
      - Choose the date you’d like us to send your money
      - Choose the frequency (one-time, monthly, bi-weekly, weekly)
      - Select Confirm
      We’ll remind you to make sure you have enough money in your balance, or bank account, for your transfer before your scheduled date. You can also find some quick tips here: wi.se/schedule-transfers

      We'd like to offer the balance feature to everyone. If you don't reside in one of the ones listed here 👉 wi.se/balanceavailability, then you can open a Wise account and send money, but can't get balances to hold money or account details to receive money from others.

      Hey, Imran. As long as you have your Balances open, you can keep your money in any currency - There's no timeframe for this. We also don't have limits on how much you can hold, unless your registered address is in Singapore, Malaysia or Japan:

      Hey there. You can use your Wise card like any other bank card to withdraw money at ATMs around the world. Be sure to check where you can use the Wise card here, if you’re planning on taking your card abroad: wi.se/whereyoucanuseyourcard
      You have 2 free withdrawals per calendar month. From the third withdrawal, we’ll charge you the fixed fee depending on your region, regardless of how much money you've withdrawn that month. You also get a free withdrawal allowance each month (200 GBP for the UK). This is the amount you can withdraw without paying a variable rate. If you go over this allowance, we’ll charge you a variable rate - this isn't related to how many withdrawals you made that month.

    Hi, im trying to add money to my IDR account on wise. But i cant see Turkish Liras on the options. Is this an error ? There are only 8-10 currencies but not Turkish Liras..

      - Log out and log back in
      - Update the app to latest version
      - Uninstall and re-install the app
      - Try on the website (mobile or desktop) instead

    Hi there. I'm South African. I've opened a Wise account in the hope to transfer the money in my bank account to a ZAR account in Wise to a EUR account to convert. Then to transfer to our Irish bank account.
    I'm struggling to add money in ZAR. Can this not be done as RSA is not listed in those top 8 countries?

    Hello! I am planning to go to Thailand for an operation. I will need to pay the clinic upon finishing my procedure. Let’s say I convert 10,000 USD to Baht. From what I understand, as long as I do this, I should be able to pay the clinic (they have a wise account) and it should instantly send (without any waiting/clearing issue) and also no fees because I already paid upfront when I converted USD to BAHT initially?

      If you’re sending money from your account to someone else's balance (of the same currency), it’s free. Additionally, sending money from your Wise balance is faster than sending from a bank account outside of Wise. Read more here: wi.se/sendmoneycosts
      However, there's no guarantee that there will be no waiting or additionally checks involved in the transfer. As a regulated institution we're obligated to check all transfers that pass through our system. In most cases, these checks are quick enough as to go unnoticed.

    I opened my account, I got an email saying it was confirmed and open but there is no "Plus" on the home page, so I can't add money. In addition, when I tried to get a Wise Card, it said the page did not exist. I got this for overseas travel. I don't understand.

    How do I add money from my bank to Wise on a recurring basis? Currently, I transfer the same amount each month (on the same day) with the "add" feature.

    Is it better to add your home currency and then convert when you are happy with the exchange rate?

      It’s completely up to you. You can keep the money in the currency you have, and we’ll convert the money for you automatically using the real mid-market rate, which includes a small conversion fee. You can find more info here: wi.se/smartconversiontech
      Or, you can convert a bigger sum beforehand, if you see a desirable rate: wi.se/ratetracker, so you could pay like a local.

    I am based in Malaysia. I have created several currency holds and I notice that for some currencies, I get bank account details, but for other currencies I do not get account details (e.g. CHF, CNY). What are the limitations of currency holds without account details?

      Hi, there! Although there are many currencies you can hold/spend in your account, there are a selected number of currencies which you can receive using account details. Please check this page: wi.se/balancecurrencies under the section 'Receiving money'.
      The currencies you can only hold, you're able to keep it in your Wise account and spend it with your Wise card - for when you're travelling, for example.

      You can't pay for a transfer using your friend's bank account, Luay - it has to come from your own account.

    Does Wise reimburse or pay the ATM usage fee when outside of your home country?

      Hey, Edward 👋 Normally, we don't refund the fees you pay when using an ATM. The only case where it applies is when you make a transfer, and then it gets cancelled/refunded. In this case, we will not charge you any fees and will refund the same amount you've paid.

      For your external bank account, you'll need to check with them directly for this information. If you want to know your Wise account details, you can find it on the app or website by going to the "Payments tab". Then click on one of the currencies on the screen. For example, if you want to know your Wise USD account details, you would go to the "Payments tab", then click on "US dollar".
      Before gaining access to this info on your Wise account, you'd need to open account details. As long as you reside in an eligible region, you can do so by following the steps here: wi.se/getbankdetails

      Hey, I have NOK account in my bank and i want to spend HUF from my Wise digital card. To top up the Wise account i can choose to top up the NOK or the HUF account. When I choose HUF, it shows that be aware that your bank's rates might apply. Therefore, isn't better to top up from NOK bank account to NOK Wise account and do the conversion in Wise after?

      We don't support balances in Pakistan at the moment, this means that new customers there won't be able to hold or receive money to their Wise account.

      Also, you can create a Wise personal account if you're based in Pakistan. You can do it on the web or in the Wise app with just an email address, or your Google, Facebook, or Apple account. Next you’ll be asked to verify your identity by uploading an image of your ID documents, and a selfie.

    How can someone with wise send to me with small charge? Since I’m from philippines and cannot open currency

      Hi there! Due to higher demand, new customers based in the Philippines are not able to open balances at this time. Please rest assured that this is only a temporary measure and we're working on re-enabling this feature again.
      As for Gcash, more info can be found here: wi.se/guidetophp For receiving money into your Wise account, since you can't open a PHP balance, having the sender send to your local bank account would be the best option here. Let us know if you have any other questions, we're happy to help.

    I add money but i didn't understood what the procedure is this😅😅 i add money choose option direct bank account even i dont give any information.i didnt understand anything and one more thing i open this account another country so why the address or everything shows as belgium address.😢

      Hi Komal! If you're sending us EUR, then it would be received in our Belgium account. As it's EUR, it doesn't actually matter which SEPA country you send from, as the fees are the same: wi.se/guidetoeurtransfers
      When sending money, depending on the payment method, you'd first have to send us the money and then we'll add it to your balance or send out wherever you wished. Read here on how to send money by a bank transfer: wi.se/howtosendmoney

    I think something has changed. This is not the same method I see on the app when I tried to add money. And when I did, it sat for several minutes (the spinning coin) which started to get nervous. Finally, a message popped up briefly but it said it could not do the transfer right away, and that I'd have to wait 5 days. I have no idea why, and there is no one to contact. It's my first time using this card, so I'm a little concerned about this now.

      @@Wise Thanks. It did eventually go through. I guess I was expecting it to go through faster than it did. Since the first $30 was instantaneous.
      But I will say, using Wise was extremely handy for my UK trip. I’ll be using it again in the future.
