    I have a general question please. If I want to use my Wise Visa Debit card to buy a large ticket item, is the merchant charged by Visa as if it was a credit card? Meaning, should I be shocked if the merchant would say to me that I would myself have to shoulder the cost of the transaction charged by Visa (it happens in certain places) or is there no such charge and I can then explain that even though the card appears to be a Visa card, being in fact a Visa Debit card, then the normal fee Visa charges the merchant does not apply? Thanks much!

    • @Wise
      @Wise  2 месяца назад

      Hey, Cristian!
      So our Wise card would be a debit card (not credit), regardless of if it's a Visa or Mastercard, and should be charged as such. From our end, there are no fees for spending in the same currency as one of your available balances: wi.se/debitcardfees
      However, as it's a multi-currency card, some services (usually ATMs) might try to charge you extra by charging you in a different currency: wi.se/atm-rates so you'd pay extra for the conversion. In those cases, make sure to always reject any conversion attempts and ask to be charged in the matching currency instead.
      Outside of that, we can't necessarily control the fees a merchant might ask, but if you notice anything suspicious after purchase, you can always report it to us here: wi.se/howtoreportfraud

      Hey, Dmytro!
      At the moment we only have the option to add a reference. If your recipient needs more info, we recommend sending it separately to them, if possible (The reference can still be used by them to match the payment, if needed).

    Hi, is there any limitation in terms of the amount of money that can be sent (let's say from EUR to GBP for ex)? thank you

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Месяц назад +1

      Hey there! There are some limits involved. For example, when sending EUR to GBP we would first need you to send us the EUR which has a maximum limit of 1.2 million per transfer.
      And then to send out, we have a 1 million GBP limit. So for the EUR to GBP you could potentially send 1.16million EUR. But if you send from your Wise balance, the limit is a bit higher.
      Check EUR limits here: wi.se/guidetoeurtransfers
      And check GBP limits here: wi.se/guidetogbp
      You can try your transfer here already, see what's possible and what are the fees: wi.se/landingpage
      Feel free to send us a PM on Facebook, Instagram or X/Twitter if you have any other questions.

    Do I have to put specific bank branch swift code for transfer money
    Or main branch swift code is okay?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  5 дней назад +1

      Hi Rover 👋 It depends on the bank. Each bank details have a specific SWIFT code.
      There are several websites to help you find a bank's Swift code. Simply choose the country and then the name of the bank:
      www.theswiftcodes.com
      www.bankswiftcode.org
      Alternatively, you can:
      👉 Check the bank statements. Banks often put their Swiftcodes on their paper statements. If your respondents don’t receive paper statements, they can log in to their bank account and view their statements there. Then they can supply you with the Swift code.
      👉 Check the bank’s own website. Go to the bank’s website and see if it has the Swift code listed.
      👉 Check the bank’s FAQs, international payments or other related links.
      👉 Type ‘Swift code’ into the search box if the website has a search feature.
      If anything remains unclear, feel free to DM us on Instagram, Facebook, or X. Alternatively, you can email/call us using this link: wi.se/contactus

    I have an ACH connection from my bank.... now I want to send some money already in my wise account ... how do I do with with reentering manually the account info????

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Месяц назад

      Hey there. From the looks of it you've already connected your preferred bank account, and now you'd like to top up your USD balance in your account with us using ACH as the method of payment, is that correct?
      If so, then please note that you'd have to make a one-time debit from your account to our bank details. After this, you won't have to manually fill out all the info again, but you will still need to select the bank, and authorise the payments.
      For more on this, please check out our page here: wi.se/achdebit
      Furthermore, please bear in mind that it's required for you to have a USD balance opened in your account with us in order to add and hold USD.
      And to learn more about this, and how you can easily top up your balance using ACH, please check out our other page here: wi.se/ach-wise
      We hope this explains things to an extent, but please feel free to PM or DM us on Facebook, Instagram, or X, in case anything may remain unclear. We'd be more than happy to help you, naturally.

    Thank you for the guide. Please my question is, is there a possibility to add another type of country currency like Brazil for example to my Wise account if I want to receive money or does the Brazil currency convert to dollars as it is being sent to me. Thanks in advance

    • @Wise
      @Wise  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey, Louis!
      You'll be able to have a BRL balance to hold money on Wise (if located in Brazil), but at the moment we don't offer account details for it. This means that if you're expecting payments from non-Wise senders, it would have to match the currency of one of the other available balance details: wi.se/howtoreceivemoney
      If the sender is a Wise users then they can easily set up a transfer where they pay in BRL, but it's delivered in a different currency to your balances 🙂 We even have a few different ways to do this where you won't even need to share account numbers: wi.se/receivemoneywithoutdetails

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Месяц назад

      Hey, Wayne. You can only send MYR from banks within Malaysia. You can’t send MYR by Swift - we explain more here: wi.se/guidetomyr
      Adding money means that you're adding money to your Wise balance: wi.se/addmoneytoyourbalances. While sending money means that you're setting up either a same or a cross currency transfer to a recipient: wi.se/howtosendmoney
      If you're trying to add money to your Wise balance, you can add money in one of these currencies: wi.se/balancecurrencies, then convert it to MYR instead: wi.se/moneyconversion
      Hope this helps. Send us a DM via Instagram, X, or Facebook, if you need further help, and we'll be happy to assist you there 🙂

    • @Wise

      If your local bank in Australia isn't accepting our new AUD details with Wise, then this is usually a temporary issue, as banks in Australia need time to update their list of Bank State Branches (BSBs).
      We advise you to phone your bank/branch and update their list of BSB in their system.

      @Wise  Месяц назад

      Hey there. From your message here, it seems like you may be trying to set up an account with us, but that you aren't receiving the security code to your phone is that correct?
      If so, then please give these troubleshooting steps a try:
      1. Your device can receive texts.
      2. You’re checking the right phone number.
      3. You have phone signal.

      👉 SWIFT can be used when you send USD to countries outside the US, GBP to countries outside the UK, more than 1 million JPY to any country, or EUR to banks that are not part of SEPA and countries outside of SEPA. In currently Wise is not open widely in Cambodia, we're Cambodian, and we can't use Wise to receive every payments from others currently. I have joined Wise about a year ago, but I still haven't received a swift code😥 However, Wise will open widely for Cambodian people in future, that's what we hoped for. Thanks Wise🥺

      That's true, we sadly are yet to find the most optimal way to offer our balance features in Cambodia. But we're definitely considering all options to expand from our current markets, and hopefully in the future we'll be with you there as well.

      @Wise  2 месяца назад

      Hey, Abhinav!
      Currently, we don't offer our balances feature in India, so you won't be able to receive or hold money with us. More details here: wi.se/balanceavailability
      With that said, from India, it's still possible to set up an account to send money. Although it's not possible to send from INR directly, you can still send USD, GBP or EUR, via SWIFT. More info here: wi.se/swiftpayments 🙂
      If you need more assistance, feel free to reach out to us via DM over Facebook, X or Instagram; or via email/phone here: wi.se/contactus

      @Wise  12 дней назад

      Hey there 👋 Since you're based in the Philippines, you should be able to get account details with us to receive money from others. So, if you haven't already, make sure to follow these steps to get them: wi.se/getbankdetails
      However, if you're referring to account details for your PHP balance, note that we offer it in select currencies only, and that doesn't include PHP. Rest assured, if this changes in the future, we'll keep everyone in the loop.

      @Wise  12 дней назад

      Thanks for clarifying. As mentioned, we only offer account details in select currencies, and this doesn't include USD. So, our new customers, and customers who've yet to get USD account details won't be able to get them. Rest assured, we're working hard to bring back this feature. In the meantime, please join the wait list, and we'll update you via email of any future changes to this.

      If you have a USD balance open, you can still receive USD from other Wise users. However, when it comes to 3rd parties sending payments, you'd need to use a different balance to receive those instead (Such as GBP or EUR), until we're able to offer USD details again.

      Hey, there!
      Although we aren't able to support the local KHR (Cambodian Riel) currency just yet, we do otherwise offer Wise accounts in Cambodia. You'll still be able to pay for transfers in USD, EUR and GBP, as well as send money to local accounts there in USD and EUR.
      Just keep in mind that in both cases it would be delivered using SWIFT: wi.se/swiftpayments so it can be slower and have additional fees we don't control.
      For KHR you can also leave us a request here: wi.se/wishlist so we'll know where to expand to in future 👍

      You should be able to verify your identity with a local document, as well as use a Cambodian address to use Wise 🤔 We might not be able to accept all types of local IDs, but we generally are able to accept a passport.
      When it comes to phone number issues, be sure to check here: wi.se/2fanotworking for some troubleshooting steps. If those don't help, please reach out via DMs on our official channels on Facebook, Twitter/X or Instagram.
