Breaking In The Habit has become one of my favorite channels, particularly among Catholic ones. You have created videos that I find both engaging and educational (which I don't find many of because the I've already learned what many of the engaging videos are trying to convey), content that I believe should be imitated by others. Who knows? Maybe in the future I'll look at making videos, and if I do, I already know one person I can ask for advice

Brother Casey, may the Lord continue to bless your ministry! I was really pleased that you visited my country Nicaragua. Please pray for Nicaragua. My country is in a very precarious state and people are dying victim of a tyrannical government. At the same time hundreds of thousands of average people have demonstrated incredible courage and faith and stood unarmed before the angry armed mobs and police. The bishops, especially Silvio Baez and Rolando Alvarez, plus many priests and Franciscan friars, have put their own lives at risk and are shown in pictures standing in front of the aggressors, protecting their flocks, or processing the Blessed Sacrament while bullets are shot around them. Pray for Nicaragua please!

What an amazing video. I have long realised that there is a lack of quality content in RUclips about catholicism, especially not in english. I struggle to find good content here in Brazil, something that is engaging and informative, that brings christians and non christians together. I don't have a lot of knowledge in filming, but this is something I want to be part of. Count me in in anything you need.

    Brother Deacon Casey,
This is Fr. James Waite in Lockport, NY (Diocese of Buffalo, NY) and I'm a frequent watcher of your channel. St. Francis of Assisi is one of my best spiritual friends. Please continue to ask for his help, along with St. Clare, the patron of Television, and I presume RUclips as well! Do not abandon your mission. Many are praying with you!!

Cassie, I'm a contemplative....a new one. Still learning the Divine Office...on my own, but I can definitely commit to praying for your mission because apparently this is pretty much all God wants me to do....pray for priests, those in formation and the unity of the global church. If you could help a sistah out and do a great video on using he Breviary I'd personally find it helpful. I'm finding a lot of lay faithful that are seeking to learn the Divine Office, it's just such a high learning curve that I find myself relying on Universalis a lot and I know I just need to learn how to use my Breviary (Christian Prayer, the single volume). Awesome video. So happy to see you embracing collaboration

I think you are a total and amazing trip (as us hippies used to say when we were young). I do not understand how you do even one iota of what you do, in addition to your studies. My prayer for you is that you do not burn yourself out.
By all means continue this interesting, informative, educational work, but at a pace that sustains your spiritual and physical health. I shall look for ways to contribute to your ministry.
And, inspired by your effort, I shall aim to be more mindful of my own. In this third act of my life, I was called to express myself. Initially, I had to put aside my doubt as to whether I was prepared or equipped, and just write, anyways. Currently, the challenge is to write in the discouraging time we are living through.
I am going to write a poem for your ordination, but I think I shall find a way to send a short one now, to thank you for your video ministry. Yours is a holy ambition.

It certainly depends on what you would like to accomplish and what style you would like to try. I say that the first thing you do is come up with a mission statement and outline the goals. From there, determine which "style" of video would serve you best, and try to watch as many of those examples as you can so that you can have a better idea of what you will need to do.

Richard Benitez Well, Bishop Barron is good at talking about philosophy because he has many years of school. But he’s not necessarily very good at social media and certainly not very relatable to young people. He says it himself. Sharing a life in Christ is not about having a degree or knowing every answer, it’s about engaging the world with enthusiasm from a place of prayer, and I think that we would have a lot to offer each other.

News broke this week that in a closed-door meeting with Italian bishops this month, the pope allegedly affirmed an existing Vatican ban on gay men entering the priesthood. Reuters reported Francis as saying:
"'Keep an eye on the admissions to seminaries, keep your eyes open. . .If in doubt, better not let them [gay men] enter.'"
Do you agree with this Bro Casey? I don't because it's discriminatory and even kind of silly because some estimates go as high as saying 50% of all Catholic priests are gay. Being gay isn't a threat anymore than being straight. I know two spectacular priests who are gay and I'm glad that rule wasn't in effect when they entered the seminary.

Brother, I understand your point and agree with you wholeheartedly. But, don't get caught in style over substance and quantity over quality... Jesus wasn't a showman and a spectacle (maybe in a way, yes, but you know what I mean :)), I don't think He would care that much about the camera and filters and special effects etc. He would make special effect by just using words. I mean, I would watch your videos regardless, whether they're filmed by mobile phone or in film studio... the content is what brought me in.

From the very first vid I saw just 1 month ago, I could see the Franciscan order was allowing unprecedented permission to continue RUclips. However this is very dangerous for your vocation. I’m been around too long to know how you can fool yourself to think continued work in media is more important than being ordained. Just at Franciscan church in SF a seminarian left order because he thought the book he was writing on religious topics was far more important than his continued studies as s seminarian. I ve seen this kind of thing too often. I was hoping you’d say this series is closing for now as my studies are currently more important. All can recognize you are very talented in using social media. That being true ...
it can wait until after completing your studies.

Don' t get caught up in the "bells and whistles", but spread the message. Sometimes simple is better. Jesus didn't attract attention, He said what He had to say, taught what He had to teach, and quietly performed miracles. Those with ears heard His message. Remember, everything depends on the grace of God. Don't get caught up in all this media and ignore your vocation. I commented to you before, your response was not so nice. It surprised me coming from you. You are doing fine, but remember to stay focused on God. I also do Catholic videos. They are not the greatest quality. I put up information to draw those back who have left the Catholic Church. That group needs some attention. It is great to draw in new members, but those that wonder off and leave the flock, need to be brought back too. All I am saying is don't lose your focus. Your message will get out, just not the way you might want it. If I may, may I make a suggestion,? Before you make a video, pray a "Hail Mary" first, and let Our Lady guide you. She will.

  • @danamalar
    @danamalar 6 лет назад +1

Dear Bro. Greetings in Christ, your decision to evangelize through media seems to be one among many ways ro love God and when it becomes the primacy of your vocation to stick on to media and allied works , it does seem to be seeking a broad way rather than opting for a narrow way to heaven. However it is your discernment and discretion and my opinion matters very little here. I admired many people who abandoned their great talents and degrees but chosen a way of obscure prayer life for the love and sake of Christ. St. Alphonse Ligourie was a prodigy in law but he abandoned his God given gift to select a hard way of life because his soul was on fire with love of God. Likewise, many in thousands, who, though it was a life of their vocation, abandoned their natural talent or liking but moved by the plight of humanity, changed their ways opposite to their talents and liking. Even Mother Teresa relegated the comfort of teaching inside a convent premises , though she was called to that vocation. She reached the dying destitutes lying on the filthy streets of Calcutta and chose to live with them even without an electric fan for the rest of her life. All the above are my opinion and I welcome your discernment and it is between you and God. May God bless you, guide you and make you to recognise Him whenever He confronts you. More than the advice , media content and homily we provide to the people about Catholicism and God , people will listen to the witness of our everyday life in prayer, humilty, charity, chastity, honesty, persecution and martyrdom for Christ and that is the greatest vocation for all of us.

Sorry to say but I gave you my first "Thumbs down" Brother Casey. I understand what you are saying. But your early videos got me hooked ! So I have been binge watching your channel as a new viewer. What I fear now is your videos will be TOO polished. TOO scripted. TOO Hollywood. I LOVE bloopers ! Bad lighting ! Bad sound ! I love how in one of your early video how you filmed yourself walking pass the camera. Than had to turn around because you are your own cameraman lol !
Your early videos are uncut raw and real. And I could relate because our lives are real uncut raw and full of bloopers. Nothing wrong with adding new ideas and improving content. But if videos are too polished and perfectly edited. I feel the show is no longer real to me. Then in my opinion. You "Jumped the shark" (JTS is a show the overstayed and should of been canceled long ago) Then I may stop watching. But I still wish you all the luck.
P.S. I been watching 3Mormons on RUclips a long time now. About Young LDS people talking about what the LDS organization is all about with special guest. And they even have ex Mormons guest come on their show ! Maybe start and have a Catholic version ? 3Catholic youths host a youtube show ? Just an idea ? And I love to see a Host or Co-host with Native-Americans and or Hispanics ? Plus given that many Native-Americans and Hispanics are Catholic. They are hardly ever seen in mainstream media. Well good luck Brother Casey with your next phase of your channel .
