Even more rare than a paraglider...a mountain biker that doesn't recognize you! Nice work!
Hahaha!
I've been watching your channel for a while now but this adventure /Xc vid is by far my favourite yet ! I'd love to see some more. Something not many guys are doing on RUclips right now.
Way to go Brian. You are a beast. Don’t think i would have that myself. Now you got me thinking dude. Got me thinking...
For a person who travels the world riding some of the best trails it has to offer your little adventure in your back yard was also very interesting . Definitely worth watching. 👌
Nice, you're improving every video because I see that you're going faster and making all of your rides look smoother and smoother. You also always have such a positive outlook during your rides, and this mini series made me want to go out and ride.
I like how there are so many trails close to civilization where you live. It gives heaps of options on the length of a ride.
Great quotes today: "Point of no return", "the wall", and "I don't want to die". This venture reminds me of the Seinfeld eposide when Kramer drives the Saab past "emply" on the gas gauge. We all want to see how far you can go. 57 miles. Epic!
Hahaha yes!
Massive respect! Great ride along, 2 parter. Always a good watch. Looking forward to what 2019 will bring!👍
I’ve watched you traveled all over the world but these Bay Area rides remind me there are plenty of great places here at home.
You’re a savage! That’s a hell of a ride, road or not. Combining those climbs into one single ride is crazy. The camera doesn’t capture the steepness of the “wall”, but then again it never does. You have endurance that most of us can only hope to have! Thanks for posting the adventure, keep up the great work. 👍
Haha that damn wall was ridiculous! Thanks Josh
Inspiring! That is a lot of miles indeed. Thanks for sharing so many great videos.
Epic ride Brian, and massive climbs. You had great weather, awesome.
Epic stuff Brian and all in your own backyard, there’s nothing like a good ride to clear your head, very inspirational and entertaining 🤙
You've been riding a ton, glad you are still enjoying it. 9mph average is great for 57 miles. Got to push your limit to know how much farther you can go
Thanks dude, gotta keep growing!
I love these videos!
I did a similar thing in both hiking and biking in 2018 and it really gives you a perspective not only of how far you want to go, but also how far you've come
Keep it up man 🤘
Great ride out mate that's a big day in the saddle 👍 keep up the good work inspiring us to get out on our bikes!
Hehe that classic thumbs over the bars trail! I remember that place. Last time you went up there in bad weather on your rallon xc sled i believe. Now you pushed your limits way further, you got faster, stronger and better! Thats what's riding bikes is all about. Lifelong learning and big slices of pie!
Haha hell yes! Thanks Bock
This was awesome. I have done this as a road ride, but never a mountain ride. Need to find those trails. Great job.
It's so cool to put together a bunch of local trails into a big ride. I've definitely found fueling my body is the challenge on the longer rides since my legs tend to cramp up. I try to do one every year, a mile longer each year. The best thing I have found is to gradually increase mileage the few weeks leading up to the ride. There are some cool 50+ mile races here in CO if you ever want to do a supported ride. Hope to see you here sometime!
Amazing to see you pump out high quality videos week after week. Keep it up.
Pretty amazing work out, lots of miles and as I said before, what a sweet backyard you have outhere. The change of the grounds and the daylight was outstanding, that's what impresses me the most of the West coast.
A suggestion to meet your Limits, may be you could try "A ride from the East to the Weast coast!" Be careful outhere!
I can't tell you enough how much of an inspiration you are. I'm motivated to find my limit now.
Hell yeah, glad to hear that!
Brian, total respect Mate. Thats a lot of miles. We're planning to try do 40 miles this Saturday over the Brecon Beacons (north of the Forest of Dean, near Bike Park Wales) and I thought that was a big number on a mountain bike. Hope my Rallon has as much go as yours did. 👍
I'm lucky enough to live in Brecon, my usual route is Brecon - Talybont - Glyn - The Gap and then home, enjoy your ride Saturday, and this was an awesome vid Brian, glad we ain't got any Coyotes here.
Great place to live Mate. The Gap is a great ride!
biketothetop That would be great! There is so much he didn’t get to do on his trip over here last year.
That sounds like a full pull!!
Powerhouse mode, Brian! Kudos for pushing yourself and going through with all of the plan.
Way to push yourself! that ride works out to almost 92 KM! wow
thats extremely impressive. great testament to all the years of hard work you put into your physical fitness.
man what a true hero doing something like that shows true motivation. Really awesome vid mate keep it up
Great life.... Lots of love from Ladakh... Never miss your single vlog!
Nice one Brian! Half century and almost 8,000 ft. elevation-sick! Bobcat, hawk, coyotes, sounds like a ride in AZ.🌵💪
Very impressive monster ride. Thanks for bringing us along.
"If it doesn't kill you..." Great work, Brian!
Really liked this solo adventure ride. Very personal vibe. Good contrast to ripping downhill.
This got me out on the Back 40 out here in the Bentonville area. A great trailhead for the route is mere minutes from my house, but after seeing this, I too, wanted to push myself to find my wall. That mental game is the plateau for sure. That’s the only thing between you and the extra miles and the fun experience. Rad video and thanks, guy.
Fantastic!!
Really enjoyed this these last 2 videos. The whole time i was watching i was planning out my our route i could take to do the same thing. Thanks for the great idea!
Awesome!
Great video, fantastic escapism. Thanks Brian
I bet it was a mountain lion you saw bro. Thats how my sighting of one was as well. They don't ever want to be seen and if you saw a long tail, it was pretty likely a lion not a bobcat. Stay safe out there and keep pushing yourself further & farther!
I really enjoyed this two part video set. It was a fun adventure to watch. A mixture of terra and critters. Glad you made it out and back safe. after a week off the bike I can only do 50 minutes lol 😊
Awesome 2 parter! Love the concept, as I’ve tried to do the same several times. Yesterday, a pal and I did 35miles, impromptu. I’m hoping to hit 40 miles in 2019. 57 is simply staggering. Great work, and I really like how accessible your riding is-nothing too high tech etc., just rolling on 2 wheels🤘🚵♂️
Wow what a ride! incredibly inspiring!
Epic ride Brian! Thanks for the continued inspiration.
Thanks Todd!
By far the best pov mountain bike videos I found on youtube. 👍👍👍
Awesome series of videos subbed about 2 years ago best channel I-am subscribed to! Keep it up
Really enjoyed seeing your local riding area. Beautiful place!
Great work, I always keep a bit of cash in my bag just in case. Nice ride and kept pushing awesome.
Jabber away Brian, we never get bored with your jabbering. 👍🏻👍🏻😂
Really cool to see all that wildlife so close to a major city
Super entertaining pair of videos. Well done.
Great job Brian, gotta get back out there and find that limit dude!
Awesome ride and video! Almost as awesome as that loco moco from Got plate lunch! 😄🤙🏽
Excellent work really thought that was cool. I'm suffering the same hand injury at the moment it's horrible be ages until I can ride again
Truly inspiring. Makes me wanna go ride forever
You live in a great part of the world - Happy New Year:)
Brian,
I started following your channel along with a couple of other RUclipsrs that ride mountain bikes. You got my itch back to get riding a mountain bike again. Bought a new bike and can’t wait for the weather to warm up to start relearning again. Would love to get to meet you and maybe have you teach me a few things someday. Living on the east coast, that might be a little difficult but hey, I’ve never been to California, so maybe I could make a trip out there. Keep the videos coming!
Nice ride i have done 35 miles before with split trail and fire road the sunset on the trail was really cool looking i always keep cash and my id between my phone and phone case i had 2 bikes stolen i was shocked you left it way to push your self now you need a 24 hour race love the channel
so cool to see bay area riding
I have a 66.6 mile road-ride from the house. The last 6.6 miles are the most punishing 20 mins of your life - straight uphill after 60 tough miles. I can't wait for spring : )
Holy moly, get after it!
Great job! Nothing better than pushing your limits!
I pushed mine the furthest after failing the Trans Germany bikepacking race in July, I went to Berlin for a few days to get rid of my stomach problems, and decided to ride home!
Including ferry crossing, a short train ride in the middle of the night because all my electronics(lights, phone, gps) were dead it took 25 hours of no sleep, and 16 hours of riding :D
340km of mostly bike trails, gravel roads, singletrack and worst of all endless sand roads that had me pushing my bike through deep sand... But man was it fun :P
Italy Divide is up next, so it didn't scare me away!
Holy moly! nice one
Nice haul for day 1. Get some night riding gear and push longer. Also always have a rolled up 20 taped to the inside of your bar just behind grip bar end cap. Comes in handy in a pinch.
You’re an inspiration! I’ve seen riders do Mount Hamilton in Mount Diablo in one day on rode bikes! I can’t imagine doing that on mountain bikes!
How could we not like this guy?! go BKXC, you're awesome mate, keep it up! 8)
Wow, Just Wow! What an inspiration!
Bloody legand!
Here in Australia we can setup our phone to tap and pay, works great when I forget my $$.
That’s a lot of miles. Nicely done! You’re a beast.
That is a big ride brotha! I would've been toast... im a flat lander. don't ride much elevation in Florida. Love seeing you putting in the miles. Also you did not have the best rolling tires for this kind of ride so Kudos!
Nice job man. Killer ride.
More people should try XC, especially on their own. It's a great way to keep fit, improve your riding and see some of the countryside.
Lol worst accident say what? Dude when u left your bike outside the shop my sphincter muscle was working over time. In South Africa you can't do that. They will remove the bike from you while you are thinking of putting it outside the shop. Dude all the miles, days and countries you were riding in you think you gonna find your limit at home? Lol. Thanks for the adventure.
I like your new style of thumbnails/general channel style. It still shows a meaningful image while adding a certain style that stands out (without being annoying) and is easily distinguishable.
Thanks! That's definitely the idea!
Used to ride theses same areas late 80’s, early 90’s on my full rigid Kuwahara and Cannondale. Briones was the closest to me. Great to see you riding my earliest stomping ground as well as killer trails around the country. 👍🏼
That's great!
Ah hell no! No Oreos no more ride! Geeze what a hill, great job! Interesting bike lanes y'all have. Outstanding sunset, thanks for the ride, very impressive
That’s respectable! I think I find my limit when I do XC racing sometimes. When riding a 40-50 miles loop trying to keep a decent speed... that is a big challenge😊. Try it and show us!
And on the left up ahead there's a rhino! :) great wildlife, thanks for sharing!
a while back i complained about your videos getting old. this is the video i wanted you to make. great job! btw if you are ever in socal i do these kind of rides regularly. you are more than invited
Awesome ride. Those are my kind of rides.
Great job Brian.
Since your looking to test your limits, come on out to Missouri in October and race the BT epic. It's a 52 mile mtb race on almost all single track that my friend puts on. Tons of fun, swag, and free food and drinks. They had over 500 entries last year.
interesting test for sure! Interesting to see just how much fitter you are compared to me haha!! I know that after about 4 or 5 hours it's over where I live. Could be more hilly, but could also be your experience! Looking forward to the next videos
Hello im a big fan from the philippines and i just want to say your videos are AMAZING. the way you ride and how fun it looks everytime you go for a adventure especially this one HAAHAH just gave me a idea of doing the same thing here hahaha 😂 again much love and more videos and adventures 🚲🚲
Thanks so much!
Come on up to Montana and ride the Butte 50 or even the 100 this summer! Considered the hardest mountain bike race in the country and mostly mountain single track including parts of the CTD. It will for sure test your limits!
Congrats on an epic ride! 😊
I went on a very similar trip couple months ago, and I had found my limit at 67km, from which the 50 first were much easier than the last 17, where I constantly kept asking myself why was I doing this ahah, but at the end of the day, it was the best ride I had, even got to explore new places that day. I plan to do it again some time when summer comes back. Amazing video, thank you.
Awesome dude!! Love hearing that others are out there searching.
That's crazy 57 miles I find 15 miles hard 😂😂😂 great video Brian 👍👍
Depends on the terrain, somewhere 15km might be super hard and elsewhere you could ride 30 with little effort
I think these videos have been a couple of your best 👍
Well done brother. I'm impressed.
Really enjoying these videos! Keep it up!
Impressive ride... huge mileage, respect.
I was nervous when you left your bike outside the corner store. That is unfathomable to do here (Vancouver BC), it would be stolen quickly in most areas of the city including the north shore.
This type of ride is part physical and part mental. Once the doubts take hold, it’s so hard to keep pushing. Great watch, thanks.
Love this 2 part story man, feels like a personal tour, I love it. By the way, leaving your bike unattended outside the shop?! Must be a extremely safe neighbourhood 😀
Amazing ride man, inspiring!!! I just did a 33 mile/4k climb here in SoCal and I was spent. I love the feeling of going beyond my comfort zone, it's a feeling that's sometimes hard to achieve in todays world. Hey man, I gotta mention, and I hope you dont mind, everyones diffeent but a few years ago I dumped all the sugery stuff on my rides and slowly converted to taking fat and protien along as fuel, I'm way less hungry, eat a lot less on the trail and just feel a hell of a lot better. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it since someone mentioned it to me and I gave it a try, glad they did, anyway, happy trails Brian and thanks for the great content!
I'd love to hear what you use! I have the best intentions but the sugary stuff is always too easy to buy!
@@bkxc Ha ha, I know, it's what's most available right. Well, I used to make my own but now there's these which are way easier: "RXBAR Vanilla Almond Nut Butter ", www.amazon.com/RXBAR-Vanilla-Almond-Nut-Butter/dp/B07D7GC3JL
My old recipe was basically some sort of nut butter, coconut oil, and a bit of good quality protein powder, you have to be easy with the powder since the whole concoction can get really solid real quick. I'd add a bit of water until I could squeeze it all through a Hammer Gu flask.
It's really cool you took the time to reply, I know you must be super busy. Thanks again man and happy trails!!!
That was awesome, man. You had multiple chances to quit early and you kept on, nice work dude.
Loco mocos are one of my favorite dishes. They’re popular in Hawaii from what I’m told. I make it at hom pretty often. Super easy, just white rice, hamburger patty, over medium egg, and brown gravy
So damn simple and so damn good!
Loved the extended cuts!
Nice work Brian
That was one heck of a long ride should be stoked knowing the your limit still hasn’t been reached after that 90km ride killed it dude
6:40 the moment Brian comes out... as a mouth breather.
Dude, that’s a lot of spin time! Congratulations! You may not have faith in your tech skills, but your conditioning is pro-level!
After riding in Tibet, you're full powered and nothing can get you down.... :D
70 miles is a good and a respectable distance.
Whish you a happy new year.... and also much great rides worldwide
That's incredible man, truly amazing and something I could only dream of currently Hahahaha
If that didn't take you to your limit, I can't even begin to imagine what would......
That was awesome amigo thank you bro ..
It's all about knowing your limits. Just saying that pushing myself brought me to some mistakes... and you do that especially when you tried. So know your limits. A Great effort! Thank you for sharing. It does inspire!
P.s. if your bikes were stolen at the shop, THEN your limits were way over... PEACE
Did the very same thing a few years ago ! Rode 65 miles stacked it bad in the first five!! Total off road the whole way took about ten hours with breaks ! Remember my wallet! Bought the crappyest of cheese sandwiches at the time seemed like best one I’ve ever eaten! I enjoyed the drama of it all!!!Thinking of making the whole thing a strava segment!!!! That no one can be bothered to beat!!!
If you make it a segment, someone will ride it within a week...guaranteed. People hunt for those type of challenges! :-)
Hahaha, oh man!! Brutal
Seven hours! Incredible!
