For context, LVD often plays odd off-meta decks to showcase cool underused cards or fun combos/synergies.
To then watch him straight up steamroll scrubs with a fine tuned meta monored deck is like giving the racecar drive a Formula 1 when he's been playing with go-karts. 😂

I have to say, Plot is by far one of my favorite mechanics in magic now. The amount of times I've been able to watch a blue/black player waste their turn 2 play like you did at 14:29 isn't low, but the sweeter payoff by far is the feeling of holding a loaded gun to my opponent's face with a plotted slickshot if they're playing control. Running out threat after threat, and knowing that the minute they actually counter something, that's it, they're done, zero mana slickshot and whatever mana I have left to cast cantrips is going to finish the job.
TL DR: It forces control players to actually think about what to control and that's based.

@@MrTehkaiserusually is very straight forward, but sometimes, yes, you actually have to think with mono red, and its not like blue - white players sometimes takes 3 minutes to think about anything

Match 11 is pretty much how all my games in explorer go. Somehow the opponent always has at least 2 or 3 fatal pushes in their first 10 cards.
What do you think of Temur Battle Rage over Unleash Fury?
We already have a few ways to grant Trample and Arcanist prefers the doubling effect.
@@LegenVDthat’s fair. But I’m the same vein, we have plenty of things tj already increase the Arcanist’s power and it’s power only needs to hit 3 to cast all the spells but I get that it works well to just increase powe over double strike twice
@@AkodoNoEyes It's more so that casting Unleash Fury twice in the same turn on the same creature will output more damage than double strike would.
Awesome deck. I don't like the idea that RDW is a mindless deck with no need to strategize. This video shows that it is a very decision intensive deck regardless of public perception. Thank you.

Why not Temur Battle Rage (admittedly I have a soft spot in my soul for thst card as it won me so many limited games and games with Heroic Boros)?
Arcanist is better with power doubling effects compared to double strike. There’s a few games where it was relevant.
@@LegenVD after watching the entire video I concede the point, friend. :)
I did the math and the games that doubling the power of a creature that wins me the game it would’ve been the same with the double strike.
Now, I also like Titan’s Strength a bit over infuriate due to scrying at Upkeep or before drawing with one of the draw spells to hit what’s needed.
I split them 2/2. It’s worked out better for me. Wish there was know room for doubling the power/double strike effects. :)
What would you change for Timeless version of the deck? Besides maybe adding in Lightning Bolt.
@@AkodoNoEyes I tried Titan's Strenth, although the extra toughness on Infuriate is quite relevant to save Slickshot in the mirror or vs Phoenix where 3 damage spells are commonplace. Timeless is about to undergo a lot of changes soon and I don't think a deck like this will be particularly competitive anymore.
I was going to ask why unleash fury over temur battle rage, but LVD is the goat and answered immediately!

When I first started seeing this deck about a week ago I was like man being able to put down like 15 damage by term. 3 was amazing all the way to the point that I realized that there's removal. That just shuts this deck down at no cost to you. 4 cost card advantage. You see mono. Red does have a horrible problem, especially this variation. Because there's a lot of situations in which your opponent can get 2 Up to 4 for 1 However, I understand that you have to draw the removal in your opening hand or else it is a problem, but how hard is it to grow removal? Your opening hand I played against this deck 3 times in a row. Yesterday and one every time tell The Times just because as soon as I killed their big creature, they had 2 cards to me and they just gave up immediately before I even got to my turn 4. Because I knew they weren't gonna win other times they just thought I could just get that 1 creature and just blow this guy out, but no, they couldn't. But anybody trying to play something gimmicky? Against this with no removal, you'll lose by turn for if not earlier, especially if they get to go first

@@mihawk-_-4165 Let me guess, you think blue/white/black "win by annoyance" control is strategic. Or maybe its all of the 1-shot combos that are literally just playing solitaire? There isn't a single deck in this meta that takes any skill, and that has been the case for the last half dozen metas.
