    I’m gonna leave this here because I’ve seen a ton of comments about it:
    This video is based on the things I value in a card and my thoughts before they’ve come out. It may change. Second, everything is comparative in the video. I think all of these cards are great, so when I say something is “hard” to do, it’s “hard” compared to the other flipwalkers. The point is, we all value different things to different extents and so I’m not expecting you’re order to be the exact same as mine.

    • @cameronmoerer6244

      You're allowed to have an opinion, and that's fine. It's also fine for people to call you out when you're wrong, especially when you're posting your opinion in a public space. Maybe not post your opinion on the matter if you can't handle a little criticism if/when you're wrong. Using the argument of "we value different things" doesn't change fact.
      You're also ranking them strictly on how easy they are to flip, and that doesn't give the cards complete justice. Tamiyo on the front side provides value and you don't NEED to flip her right away. You get card advantage and a great blocker on the front side. You flip her later when you want to for her back side. Ral at best goes in 1 very specific deck. His front side is literally the same as every unplayable 2 mana spell cost reducer in modern nowadays. Not to mention, his + ability is literally just the same as his front side ability. You CAN - him right away, but his - ability is very lackluster, almost useless, in the decks you want to play him in.

    • @MTGRecon
      @MTGRecon  Месяц назад

      Something that is truly an "opinion" can't be wrong. A card might be more powerful than another (I'm not claiming one card is better, I'm claiming which I like the best), but if I'm saying here's my ranking, it's based on what I value in a card, and therefore can't be "wrong." You CAN disagree with it, that's the value of opinions. That's the point I'm making in the comment, not that I can't handle people disagreeing with me. I really enjoy having thoughtful conversations with people about cards, and it has changed by opinions on them many times before, but saying "your opinion is wrong" and "I disagree with your opinion" are two very different things.
      Also, this is not purely based on how easy they are to flip, as I ranked Grist as #1, and that one is one of the hardest. My issue with Tamiyo, which I still believe, is that I don't want the backside, it's just not my playstyle, and I would actually rather just have the front.

      I think he is pretty nice in every orzhov(+) deck that cares about gaining life since having extort on a cheap (mana) is nice to have. I personally think his frontside is acutally better then high walker side since you can attack with him without caring of him dying, or keep him up as a nice blocker and extort is nice.
      Sadly his backside is orzhov, else i would have liked him in my gollum, obsessed Stalker deck

      It's literally not hard at all. Frantic Search allows you to do it basically for free. And Tamiyo is a one drop. So you can do that and flip her on turn 4. Not sure if it's harder to do in Modern, but in Commander at least, that's a free Planeswalker

  • @lord_of_happy_death6557

    Why the heck is Sorin last??? He is one of the easiest to flip, has extort on both sides, and is a win con on the back! His minus one says “deals damage equal to the amount of life gained this turn to any target” so in commander if you found a way to gain more life than your opponents have, you can straight up kill someone! And this slots in perfectly with amalia + scurry oak combo decks because you are also gaining life

    • @mark1A100

Tamiyo in simic colors makes it a lot more likely that she will be able to get her ult, and Sorin with his extort in a format like commander is basically a guaranteed transformation, but his planeswalker side does kinda suck.

    Tamiyo is definitely the last. She comes out early and eventually flips into the least impressive of the 5. A single brainstorm can make her flip, so it's not the hardest, but it's still not great. Grist is probably overrated, because the trickiness of flipping it. And it doesn't guarantee making death touchers. It needs to mill a black card and lands are nothing. Sorin is definitely underrated. One instance of extort gets you the life you need to flip him. His -1 is very deadly! Especially because he's in a deck with lots of life gain and you can make the food to then crack a bunch at the same time for sustenance and punishment. And sorin is able to take a creature rather quickly. Ral is fiddly, but fun in a spellslinger storm deck.

    HARD disagree on Tamiyo! In EDH it's nothing special, but it's probably Modern playable - it blocks Ragavan in the early game, can sort of replace itself via the Clue tokens, is a Wizard for Flame of Anor, and can flip if you cast Flame of Anor on your own turn since it draws 2 cards. It's very similar to flip-Jace from Origins but with some unique advantages that position it fairly well for Modern.

    How is Ajani not the best one exactly? It feels like you are just rating the planeswalker side without taking into consideration the creature side and how hard they are to actually flip.
    Ajani provides 3/3 worth of stats over two bodies for only two mana. It's also one of the easiest ones to flip (especially if you got a Viscera Seer or something on turn one), pumps your board and acts as removal as well.
    It is by far the best one

    • @MTGRecon

      They’re all pretty good, I just find Ajani to be a little bit niche only being a board boost for cats and needing to take a turn off of doing anything impactful (for non cat decks) to get to the ult. That means he’ll often just sit at 3 loyalty making him an easy target for anything red or just creatures in general. Don’t get me wrong, he’s good, but I find the floor on him is so much lower than the floor of the two above him. But that’s just my opinion 🤷‍♂️

    Oloro as you commander means you can do turn 1 soul warden, turn 2, gain 2 life on upkeep, play sorin, gain 1 off soul warden, flip sorin
    Also Tamiyo's not hard to flip at all

    • @MTGRecon
      @MTGRecon  2 месяца назад

      None of them are hard, but hers is one of the harder ones compared to just casting an instant or sorcery or having a creature die, or things like that. And the “cost” to flip compared to the others just doesn’t match the power level of the planeswalker on the back.

    Tamiyo is difficult? Any 2 cantrips on your turn does it, brainstorm and treasure cruise too

      Difficult compared to the other conditions. This whole video is comparison based between the 5.

    Okay, in which format? That ranking changes drastically depending on if your format has access to brainstorm and recall. I know that every channel is all about edh nowadays, but these planeswalkers powerlevel vary drastically depending on the format. I think this ranking is a bit sloppy tbh

    What? Ramiro is upset easy to flip it just needs a brain storm or any two draw effect on your own turn. I’d argue it’s the easiest considering you can pull it off by your second turn consistently. Grist is probably the hardest since your grave yard can just be turned off pretty consistently with a lay line or cage.

    Nah tamiyo is the best out of the five. It makes up for the main problem murktide faces by ensuring you draw a card late-game for each turn you have had before, basically giving you a phyrexian arena from turn 1. yes it can be bolted, but it cannot be bowmastered or unholy heated early, it is evasive, and can flip if your oppoent has good blockers. Yes, you dont draw the cards right away, but you dont care since turn 1-3 you have lots of cards from your opening seven. On later turns you can use excess mana to crack clues, thus, like i said, it becomes a phyrexian arena
