Got it to build credit Live where backroads are 55 mph but there is a route that nobody takes that I could go 50 on all day. And when I get to the city it’s all 35 to 45 insurance is 50 a month only because I’m 19 and I financed it and I’m 6 foot 2 270 pounds
I found this video since I am debating on those 2 bikes as a 2nd fun motorcycle. Thanks for the info. BTW...was just watching a youtube video by LifeofBirch and he just installed new shocks ($35) and said it made a big difference on the Navi. Also I wanted to compliment you on that beautiful Lincoln in your driveway.
It seems that Navi is physically bigger than the Grom and more spacious. That would make it more comfortable in spite of poor suspension and seat quality, is that right? I sat once on a Navi in a dealership and the seat seamed well-padded and pretty comfortable, definitely spacious.
The navi is a little taller, the seat isn’t bad for short rides, but trust me you’ll feel it after you’ve ridden it long enough 😂. Overall it’s great for the price!
2023 honda grom in south florida. Brand new cost anywhere from 6500-8000. It's the craziest mark up I ever seen. Broward Motorsports is charging 2500 extra between destination and Assembly fees.
I live near a downtown area and am a new rider. What a new rider needs to be careful of with the Navi, is that, while it's not a fast bike at speed, that little shit is quick 0-30 and involves a little practice with throttle control if you've never ridden and are still learning balance. When the light turns green, she wants to GO.
I could agree with that for sure. The navi seems more practical for going to work everyday with the extra storage for things and the Grom is awesome for just cruising around. But both could do either without a doubt though
Thanks for the response, I think a trike would be very interesting, I'm a 300 pound guy and a little big for a grom or a navi. But I was thinking that a trike could be more of my style. Fat tires, wide fender flares. I hope to see if you can make this happen. And thanks have. Blessed day
I'm looking at getting my 1st bike above 50CC, And these are the 2 that I'm really looking at. All I would like is to be able to go 55 or 60 after some modifications and get some good fuel economy in the meantime.
For the higher speed, I’d have to say the Grom would be better especially if you have a fair share of 55mph zones on your commute. If it’s just occasional 55mph zones the navi would be fine. I’m 210lbs and have never had my navi up to 55 even down a hill. My navi doesn’t have any mods yet either though, but even then it might a tough. If you’re a lighter rider it might be doable.
@@ModdedProjectsGarage I'm really amazed that it could not get above that speed but I'm sure it has to do something with gearing. I had a stock 2 stroke 50cc that did 42mph With my 240 pound roommate and my 190 pounds on it. I'm going to keep researching respective aftermarkets, but as you said, the grom has many more options. this video definitely helped! Thanks!
True, but the top speed of the Grom allows me to daily it to work, where I can take advantage of the 136 mpg for my route, where the Grom will pay for itself over time.
i was thinking about getting one or the other idk i want one for work and back mostly i only live about 5 or so miles from work and maybe cruising to home and to the store i was thinking maybe the navi bc it wont break the bank for what i want to use it for

Navi fits so well and serve the purpose to go shortcut to nearby store. By car, I would have to do a big turn, over traffic lights to get there.

@@ModdedProjectsGarage thanks! Sounds good! 👍🏼 do they let you do the permit and the driving portion of the test in the same day? ***update*** (12/27/22): I never bought the navi even though it’s the first bike I saw that inspired me to learn and go to mss. Learned and passed on a grom. Love the grom/considering one. Not a fan of shifting/stalling but then again my rider experience is only two days and 45 minutes, so of course I need to practice. narrowed down to 10 bikes on my list. 8 of which are manual, 1 electric and then navi. No Chinese junk makes. The manual ones on my list are able to have a rekluse clutch fitted to it which will make stalling no longer an issue. I will still have to shift with my foot but that’s not a problem. Plus I can still use the clutch if I want to as it is still recommended. A rekluse will not make it automatic but it will eliminate stalling coming to/taking off from a stop. The prices people are asking for a navi otd/used are ridiculous when I can get a decent used 2018-2020 Grom for the same price. I honestly can’t justify spending any more than $1500 on a navi. There’s too much crap you’re gonna have to do to it in order to make it up to decent specs and that’s dumping at least another two grand into it. So I’m def still browsing. I’m shopping under 650cc pref. My most powerful bike on my list is the Vulcan S, weakest is navi.
Stalling is normal when you're first learning. That's why it takes practice. If you like the Grom more in pretty much every regard, you should go for the Grom and learn. You'll probably want to learn shifting either way if you're serious about motorcycling. You cannot swap the brakes without serious skills or monetary investment on a Navi. Frankly, you'd spend more on the Navi swapping out things and modding it than you would buying a Grom outright. Coming from someone who was in the same boat (bought a Navi after the course), I can wholly recommend just getting the Grom instead.

It's a bit silly to buy a Grom, then not ride it until you get a semi-auto clutch upgrade. Unless you're mechanically inclined, you'll also have to pay and wait for an install too. Not worth it. Just ride it around the neighbourhood a bit, you'll get the hang of a clutch in no time. Trust me. If you're so dead set on a semi-auto bike, maybe look into the Trail or Supercub if you're in the States. But honestly, learn the clutch. Um did you not pay attention? It IS slower than the Grom. And you want something more basic than the Grom? You CAN'T get any more basic than the Grom LOL

I haven’t done any engine mods to the navi yet. I can’t say first hand, but I think it would be pretty minimal. If you need more speed you need a bigger bike unfortunately.
I've done intake and rejet, as well as lighter CVT rollers on my Navi, and I still top out at 50-52. I'm a bit bigger guy at 230 lbs, though. I will say, it gets up to that speed much faster than it did stock.
