My riding pants looked pretty good in this huh? I think it was the green matching with the green 🤔 Anyway, they’re the best riding pants I’ve ever had and if you want some you can use code BURCH to get 15% off at NBTclothing.com! 😎🤘🏻
@LifeOfBurch The price of honda navi in your county is way too much im shocked to see the price of honda navi in your location In india you can get it under 900$ brand new with insurance and the number plate it preety much will cover everything under 900$ Wow im really shocked to see the price you mentioned And btw it really is a fun scooty It is fun to ride in city it really is a joyride😁😁
The way you handled that dude was perfect. It's taken me too long to realize that right or wrong, just agree and move on, and people will leave you alone.
@@luism370 naw.. That's what they expect. He was respectful of the guys request and left as he should. If you didn't realize you were trespassing, it's reasonable to expect you're going to be told with some level of firmness when you're found.
Life lesson I've learned from old people, they'll say everything is private property. I was at a lakeside range funded by the county on campgrounds and a dude told me it was private property. Had a parking lot and park ranger call signs, but yeah.....private lol.
Yeah but sometimes it actually is. People go on our dock all the time... On a private beach. With signs on the actual dock itself. You didn't pay for the dock, you didn't pay to put it in the water, you probably had to ride your bike on a private sidewalk to get to it. Don't. Just don't.
Why would you WANT to ride around where people have settled to camp? It's wrong to ride around people, including small children and sleeping babies, that are casually walking and going about their business. The playground at public parks are public property, yet there are are laws, statutes and judgements concerning the use of motorized vehicles there. Do these principles not connect with your mindset? If not, you're either a thug or well on your way to a life of crime. Then Hell.
As someone looking into getting his first bike ever really... I'll say you did a great job explaining the pros and cons. It sounds like something I could just take around town or to another town nearby. Sounds like a good starter bike for me and may grab one next summer if I'm feeling it
I’m glad this video helped! The Navi has been integral in my girlfriend learning to ride and getting comfortable on two wheels, so I think it could be a great first bike for you too as long as you understand its limitations! Good luck on your riding journey next summer 🙏🏻
Thx for review I’m currently on a home Made 80cc bicycle lol that hits 30+ mph total cost $400 for now it’s great and deff been eyeing that Honda rebel 1100 and was thinking of staring on the Navi but prob best To save up for the 1100 thnx for the video 🙏🏾
@@armaniirani4720 As a surgical-trauma nurse, PLEASE do not make your first bike an 1100. I have seen soooo many patients who got a 900+ bike as their first one, and laid it down on top of them, lost skin, a few legs, or worse, because they weren't ready to handle something so big right out of the gate. It's a much better idea - depending on your physical size - to get something between 300-600 cc, or even go the used market and get an older 250 cc, cause most people do drop the bike at some point, or have minor accidents, and you wouldn't want to do that to a 10k+ bike.
@@PomegranateLost I agree most people don’t have a bunch of money and want to cut to the front of the line and buy a powerful bike before getting a starter bike which is dangerous
My dad and i got 2 for riding around our area and to our uncles a few blocks away and honestly its great for it. I have zero issues with it so far and would definitely recommend to new riders and even experienced riders as a “trip to the mailbox” kinda bike if you life in an area with a far box.
I mean, they aren't bad, but why would somebody buy one and not a little ninja, which will go over twice as fast for the same money while barely being any bigger
I like my Navi even though it has its downsides. I’ve been riding mine to work every night; an hour one-way. In doing so, I have about 4,500 miles on it.
Just sold mine, roughly 8k miles. Rode it to work mostly. No where near 110 mpg, maybe 70-75. Was fun but it is so cheaply made, things were falling off and coming loose left and right. My exhaust cracked and snapped in half just riding to work. Leaking oil under the storage unit. Honda Grom is where it's at. Don't waste your time with a NAVI.
I was hooked on the mini moto scene, and looked heavily into the Navi as my first bike, I went to the dealership, the salesman had the 23 Navi and the 24 Grom side by side. I picked the Grom over the Navi the biggest deciding factor I already had a 2016 Honda metropolitan scooter, I didn't want another bike that's basically like my moped, if I was to take the msf to get my endorsement, I'll need to learn to shift anyways (i passed!). The pros to the Grom has a bigger fuel tank to me it's a plus, the quicker acceleration, the digital dash (also the white light on the dash telling you when to shift), the negatives, it takes a bit finessing to shift into Neutral, lack of storage, and maybe the price, it's double that of the Navi. The Navi, the pros, storage, similar top speed to the Grom, you don't have to shift, the Negatives, not as quick accelerating as the Grom, the bike feels cheaply made compared to the Grom i.e. you can tell looking at the plastic panels, the basic gauge compared to grom's digital one, etc and it felt like a moped all dressed up in motorcycle clothes, and the out the door price of the Navi depending where you live can be almost as msrp or more to a new Grom, my 24 Blue Rasperry Grom's otd price was $3900, not bad at all!
I had a NAVI for about 3 months. Loved it so much. Did everything on that bad boy. But I am also an inexperienced rider and even though I was fine on it, I wasn't enjoying it as much as someone should. I was scared. It's that simple. I was worried about everyone else around me not seeing me and hitting me. So because of that I got rid of it. If it wasn't because of my own thoughts and doubts I would still have it. Riding just isn't for everyone. Such an amazing bike!
Probably was a good decision to purchase a bike that was relatively inexpensive and probably pretty easy to sell. Some guys just go big and regret it. The fact that I occasionally have the sense of fear keeps me riding within my limits.
@@Eric_A. I was absolutely going for the beginner rout. This thing was as easy to ride as a mountain bike. Sold it for 200 less than I paid. So I got to have some fun for 3 months for 200 bucks. Not a loss in my book! Stay safe!
It’s actually good to have that little bit of fear. It’s your reptilian part of our brain that tries to keep us safe. If you ride in less populated areas, you will overcome your fear. Go for it!
Got one in Toronto at MSRP for teenage son. Perfect starter bike. For many, the price is attractive for a new Honda with warranty, Honda service network etc. If this is your budget and you know the bike's limitations, the value is amazing. As for the old tech, had to be or it would be too close in price to Grom or competition. Some benefits are low maintenance (anyone ever need to service their drum brakes?) Proven engine that Honda has made millions of over many years. Oil and air filter are only regular service. Sure it's carbed but no computer chips; perfect SHTF machine. Also great for the teen to wrench on. He already liked tinkering with small engines like lawn mowers etc so carbed engines are what he already knows. Everything is serviceable by it's owner and parts are easily obtainable. Service manuals easily found online (since it was made/sold in India for years). These could run for decades if cared for. Since manufacturing has been moved to Mexico, I was also happy to purchase a bike that was at least made on this continent and not overseas.
as someone that's looking at a commuter "bike", this was top of my list mainly for storage and mileage (8 mile round trip). it topping out at 50ish is no big deal cause the highest speed limit on my commute is 40. very solid video. if you end up reading this, i'll gladly take reccs on something similar and in same budget if you think there is something better.
I think the issue is people being mislead on to what the Navi is. It's not a motorcycle. It's a scooter dressed up as one. It's not a fancy ride, it's a sub $2000 mode of transportation. You get the Navi as either a fun secondary ride or as a cheap, I can't afford anything else.
I’m with Link on this. I think Honda made this for a particular group of people who need reliable cheap transport in lower speed environments. Great video Burch!
Agreed! Pretty smart of Honda to offer this right as gas prices skyrocket though! If someone’s tight on money, they can grab this for super cheap, get great gas mileage, and then when they’re ready for a “real” motorcycle, Honda hopefully already has them locked in with brand loyalty. It makes sense for lots of people, but I would STRUGGLE if this had to be my only means of transportation.
@@LifeOfBurch haha, Honda kinda has me locked in with brand loyalty but just being the reliable offering. I was/am looking at Dual Sports that have a 35" seat height, and I was actively hoping for a Kawasaki/Suzuki that might have a good gas tank size, ... Of course Honda has a Dual Sport with a 35" seat height AND a 4gallon tank. TL;DR is that even if you want other manufacturers, you'll wind up going to Honda because they just have a bike for just about every need/want combination.
This looks like a good first bike for me. Idk how to ride a manual bike yet. As a uni student in a different country, rather than spending $200 per month on public transport I could use this to get around. My total commute would be 30 mins instead of 2 hours. No problems with parking and I can go to the gym, do grocery shopping easily and also explore the city. Convenience and safety is important, speed and pickup not so much. Looks like enough speed to get out of trouble
I’m also about to start my very first semester in uni and been considering getting this bike as taking public transport may take an hour or more considering the wait time for buses and trains. Did you end up getting the bike? Do you need license?
I like how you handled the older dude, you were firm and yet respectful. Both of you were straight to the point. As for the Navi, I'll stick with my Vespa GTV 300 HPE goes up to 80 MPH.
I have a CARBURETED Vespa GT200. Bought used in brand new condition with 1800 miles on it for $2200 CASH from a private seller. No taxes, no fees. Now with over 30,000 miles on it, it has been great. Will cruise at 75 mph on a flat road and climbs 15% grades just fine.
This is perfect for absolute beginners and long time riders wanting a fun bike to do dumb things with. I personally would prefer the grom but scooter transmissions are fun to tinker with
As a second bike, I get it. Shifting gears and using a clutch is no big deal and the Navi may be a cute little bike for riding around the neighborhood, but it's sure nice to have a bike that can keep up with traffic.
This uses the same engine as the honda icon in thailand. They usually mod the cvt, changing the roller, the angle of the roller plate, the angle of the pulley plate, etc. and also bore up the engine to around 130cc (to get 13hp at the dyno). They usually sell it in kits for only around 200 usd for the bore up kit and 100 usd for the cvt upgrade kit.
That Old dude was just too much , I got a Navi for my daughter, and I ended up riding it more than her , it’s a blast ! Your review of the Navi was spot on , I got it it over 50 mph, but felt slightly unstable at that speed with tiny tires . Gas mileage falls short , usually ride it pinned , so around 60-65 miles have to go to reserve tank . No regrets here , good bang for the buck .
When I think about spending 3 grand on a tiny motorcycle/scooter, my mind goes directly to a used pre 2018 triumph street triple for around double that. I just couldn’t spend that much on this personally. But I do appreciate that it does have 2 wheels and there’s a spot for it among motorcycles. Nice vid man 👍…keep churnin em out!
@@CalebBoender you have $300 in freight and delivery, minimum of $140-200 for set up, plus document fees at a minimum. So even paying in full at time of purchase so there are no finance fees you'll be close to 2300-2500.
Enlightening review! So basically the Navi is an expensive on-road scooter with no suspension and a good storage trunk....hmm. My 1965 Honda S90 has 4 real gears and a clutch, can cruise 50mph all day long, actually gets 100mpg, and floats over rough trails and bumps on 18 inch wheels and plush oil forks. Oh and I found it for free in a barn 😅
No oil in the front is CHEAP.. My electric scooter has real shocks and you can get replacements off you know what site for like 80 bucks. Honda, I shame you for this lol
Great vid, great scenery. I’m loving the Navi and have added it to my Christmas List. Currently rocking a 49cc Scoot that is just a hoot to tool around on. Owning a carbureted bike myself, I have 3 words for your sanity ETHANOL FREE GAS. This is an absolute must for carb bikes. At 110 miles per gallon and 0.9 gallon tank, the extra 50-75 cents at fill up time is negligible for the benefits you’ll get. Also, let’s get the mods started! Definitely think you can get a nice smooth 55 mph out of this with inexpensive mods. Liked and subscribed!
Thanks dude!! I really appreciate you subscribing! The Navi is definitely Christmas list worthy, so hopefully you’ve been good enough this year that you’ll get one 😂 As for mods…I keep going back and forth with that. I keep saying I’m not going to do any performance mods because I’ll just end up with more money into it than I have into my Grom, just for it to still be slower than my Grom…but then I keep finding myself looking at intakes and exhausts, so who knows! Haha
@@LifeOfBurch I hear you on the slippery slope of mods $$$. I think with a Navi, my first step would be roller weights. That’s really low cost and likely get you highest bang for the least buck. Probably get you a steady 50+ instead of an occasional 50-. As for intake and exhaust…that can quickly be 10-25% of what you paid for the bike, and endless weekends of tinkering to get carbs jetted just right to match the intake and exhaust…that would be very low on my list. The Navi seems to make a pretty sweet sound just the way it is, though that muffler can is HUGE and sticks out further than anything else on the bike!! Lol
@@LifeOfBurch "weightless" makes a GREAT point on the ethanol-free gas...and he's right. Better power/efficiency as well as no chance of damage to fuel lines. Real gas last longer like over winter...no issues.
Navis would be great at the MSRP. The problem is, in this market ALL motorcycles are going to have the dealers passing on shipping/setup fees, in addition to whatever OEM markups exist across all the dealerships. There are always deals to be had, but it depends on a specific dealer getting offloaded with way more bikes than there's a market for in their area.
Rosenau Power Sports in Michigan marked one up to 4500 out the door last year. I bought one in Ohio for my wife's granddaughter. It was an upgrade to the minibike she had. It proved to be too much bike for her, and hit a parked car on her first ride. Spooked her. I guess I'm stuck with it.
Another great video bro! And I LOVE my Navi as well! Perfect bike to make food deliveries on! The automatic transmission and storage makes deliveries so easy.
I’m starting to learn to ride (additionally have RA) so it makes it a “hump” to learn on a full size bike. This thing is a blast around town. I don’t regret buying it, but I am already starting to get antsy for a bigger bike.
I bought my Navi because I wanted to downgrade from my Vulcan. I noticed I was creeping up on the speed on it and I was scaring myself. I originally walked into the dealer in February 2022 looking to buy a Metropolitan and the sales guy showed me the Navi because I "already had my MC licence". It was love at first sight. It IS PERFECT for what I was in the market for. I would have been miserable riding my 26-mile commute on a Metropolitan. Love my little guy!
I love that you were respectful to the man telling you to get off the property. He wasn't yelling, just stern, and if I came to my property (or a shared private property) and some stranger was there, I'd tell him quite firmly to bugger off. You sound like a pleasant guy and I enjoyed your communication style. First time watching one of your videos and I'm sure I'll stop by again. Never heard of the Navi before now, but I'd consider one to park next to my Super Tenere. I just rode a Grom for the first time last week and it was a riot. 🙂
Back around fall of 2021 I found out about the Navi. I used to ride around on an old beat up Honda ct-70/Trail 70 sometimes as a kid. That thing was a a ton of fun. I'm not as knowledgeable with bikes as I am with cars and didn't even know they still made something street legal that size. I typically don't see anything that small except conventional scooters here in Southeast Michigan. Looking into the Navi, I found out about the Grom. I ended up putting a deposit on the Grom before Christmas and got it the day before the following Easter. It was like $4400 after fees/plates/tax. I chose the Grom over the Navi due to being a manual transmission, bigger fuel injected engine, disc brakes, modern electrics/dash/gauges, and overall better build quality/look. The gas mileage is better too. I get between 125-155 mpg which has been better than expected and worth it with these crazy gas prices! The front suspension on the Grom isn't great either. One thing I've noticed though- Dogs really *HATE* it!🤣
Love mine ❤ and mostly agree with your comments, but I would not complain about the speed or simplicity. Happy with it all except the suspension. Great buy. So easy and fun.
That’s awesome dude! It’s such a nice area to ride in! They do MSF courses at Harley in Baltimore and I believe at PG County Community College as well. It’s a 3 day course, you learn a lot, and walk out with your motorcycle license 🤘🏻
This bike is perfect for beginner riders! I got one for my lady who typically isn't to well at walking and chewing bubblegum at the same time, so a powerless automatic bike is a perfect starter.
You're right about carburetors. I've cleaned, rejetted & rebuilt many of them & I'm sick of working on them. Never again. Especially with ethanol in our gas. I got rid of my last carbureted bike in 2007.
Never knew about the Navi until this video, but it definitely seems like it's perfect as a fun "side" bike which may have tripped people up that were instead wanting a cheap "main" bike that has the power and all the doodads.
I have a 2017 Honda Ruckus, purchased new while on sale ($200 off). Since I got no license, no registration fee, no freaking insurance and no tags, that is what I paid! Which is considerably less than your out the door price! What did I ride before? A Honda 1800 Goldwing! Until my knees told me it was time to move on. I love this little scooter, it’s crazy looks, and the twist and go, like your Navi. Actually a lot more fun than my Goldwing was. Top speed is 35 mph so you could easily pass me, so you could beat me to the cafe, but my Ruck would get all the looks! Ha ha. I have made some cosmetic changes, like rock guards on the duel headlights, under the seat bag, barrel bag on the front rack, added large rack on back with a fold down carrier for groceries, water bottle holder, and foam grip and rubber caliper covers, all color coordinated, and white plastic saddlebags. Looks like a white and red bumble bee now! Ha ha. Since purchase, it has been problem free, and I have 8800 miles on it, and have learned the back roads in two counties. Sure would I like it to go a bit faster, yeah. Would Ii like the suspension and a disc brake set up, yeah. But those are not a deal breaker for me…why? Because it is a scooter, a Honda Ruckus scooter, whatever that implies!
You hit all the bases...ALL the bases! I have two Navis, one Tmax530, one Honda NC750x DCT...and those two Navis are pure joy in the city and campground. Thx for sharing!!! JP
Here in mexico the fully upgraded Navi with the extra body kit costs around $1,650 which is a bang for the buck imo. i'm planning on getting one for city driving where most of speed limits are 60/70 kmph
The lack of technology is a HUGE seeling point for me. I can get behind having a computer or two, but honestly, I like seeing something that doesn't rely on them so heavily.
Here’s my thoughts on the Navi. I have just over 3k miles now and it runs gud no complaints on that except for the brakes. The real problem is the gas mileage it comes in half the mpg of the grom and pcx and if u look at only this in money the extra money in gas kills this thing within a yr the wasted money would have paid for a pcx or a grom. So imo do not buy this machine and let it die like India did because it’s not worth having unless u only drive 100 miles a year
In Canada in many provinces the insurance for motorcycles under 110cc (like Navi) is half of those over 110cc (like Grom) so one saves a lot of money right there. I guess it's the same in US in some states (I may be wrong).
@@ronsmith7262 &200 is a really great deal. In BC for ex. insurance company rips you off big time. I rode neither Grom or Navi and I am sure Grom rides better, but I sat on both and Navi is definitely more roomy and comfortable, I especially like its upright riding position, seat, geometry, but of course, to each their own. Also maintenance is very cheap and easy to perform, included the dreaded valve adjustments. Its simplicity doesn't offer much performance but it has advantages as well.
problem is its only got a 1 gallon tank so even if it got a good 80mpg that still doesnt get you very far. according to google the navi is estimated to get a bit over 70mpg so either google is lying or you are more upset over the capacity not the mpg. sure the grom does get double which is insane but as far as motorcycles go 70+ mpg is plenty respectable. you are absolutely right though, if you are averaging 10k miles per year on the bike then yea the gas savings from the grom would be the difference in price between the navi and the grom.
I believe the Navi was originally released in India for like $500 a few years back. It's being sold in the US with a huge markup. That's why it has a lot of old tech.
It was first released in India and then in Mexico and Latin America before the U.S. of A, I bet that the problems about the suspension, breaks and speed have to do more about you cowboys are larger and heavier than the first public it was designed and intended for, the lack of technology is a real problem whether we talk about India, Mexico or USA 😅
@@natanaelmedina2189 lack of tech in purely due to its introduction price which was very competitive for Indian market and that's why they had to cut most features to get those prices down. But it's really absurd how it's overpriced for US/canada markets
@@harshbshah6755 I think the cost hike is mostly because of import fees and labor costs, unfortunately since they build all of them in Mexico for the US market well cheaper than the US it's still vastly more expensive than India, adding that the duty ratesnfor steel and other needed materials are highe, it was going to cost more.... Regardless 18s a bit too much I think 16 is about right, cheaper than that isn't going to happen you can't get a Chinese 50cc scooter for under $900
well for one inflation alone almost makes up for the price difference since it was available in india in like 2016 but the reason it stopped selling in india and was discontinued was because of government regulations. the bike is still made in mexico then imported to the u.s so the cost of import is also added in to the price. the bike has also seen some minor upgrades since its debut in india such as a fuel gauge. "Along with a new BS-IV compliant motor, the Navi gets cosmetic updates like body coloured headlamp cover, mirrors, a rear grab rail and tubeless tyres. The single side mounted rear shock absorber is also painted red. Another important update is the new instrument console that gets a fuel gauge." considering all of that the price increase makes perfect sense.
I think the reason is that with alot of people, it was an impulse buy. It was cheap enough that they didn't need to think about it to much and the novelty has worn off. But for those of us that really wanted to get one but didn't yet, it's a great thing! It will separate the wheat from the chaff of riders who love mini biking for all the right reasons.
I bought my Navi (black) about a month and a half ago and I absolutely love it. Is it perfect? No. Would I like a little more modern technology and maybe LED lights on it. Sure. But for something that cost me $2200 out the door I guess I shouldn't expect all of the bells and whistles. It's a lot of fun to ride and I'm not a speed demon. I've seen a lot of reviews on the Navi and all they care about is going fast. Why are you getting a Navi if you want to go really fast? For me, it's fast enough and perfect for driving around the area I live in (little beach town). I also have a Honda Elite Scooter and was thinking of keeping it but I find myself taking the Navi out 9 times out of 10. I just figure there is no point in keeping both. I find it's more fun on the Navi and it also looks cooler.
I wouldn't say wanting to go 65mph is wanting to go "really fast". Spot on about everything else though, I've started seeing more Navi bikes around the beaches down here (Southwest Florida).
@@JohnChoidotOrg They have black in Costa Rica, along with orange, white and red. I originally wanted the grasshopper green but it's not available here. I am very happy with the black one though. I really liked the orange one too and it's my favorite color but wanted a more classic look with black and it looks more badass, well as badass as a Navi can look, LOL!
, I have a good understanding with NAVi is * You get what you pay for, it is a scooter, I love my mine . It’s like people b*tching about a Miata because they have no interior space or trunk space. You’re buying it to have “ fun “ 💯😎bro !
I'm glad you mentioned the set-up fees, because no one usually does. It wouldn't be such a hard pill to swallow if it wasn't for the fact the set up fee for a Navi and a set up fee for a $23,000, 1,000lb road cruiser is nearly the same. With the Navi, you're getting like a 45-50% mark up just to get it out the door.
that is how it is with any bike so its easier to compare value by just comparing msrp. the grom is still costs about the same over the navi after all of the markups so the comparison is still valid. anyone that has been to a dealer before, motorcycle or vehicle, understands the msrp is not the final cost. obviously the dealer needs to make money so they pass the freight costs, taxes, registration and their time to process these things on to you. i was told my out the door price if i were to buy it in full and handle registration on my own would be about $2400.
A couple years ago I picked up a used 250 rebel for those same reasons. Fun small and cheap, around 2019 I paid $900 for it. I own bigger bikes, but around town, the rebel is just more fun. I'm trying to get the courage to take it on a longer trip.
In 1982. I ridden a Honda MB-5 from Kansas City to Washington DC in 30 hours. That was sleeping etc. it was a 50cc 2 stroke. Wish I would have kept it. It was fun to ride.

You clearly don't own a private dock that has had strangers on it. If someome rides their damned motorcycle/scooter onto it, damned right they're gonna be told off. Let me and my friends just pitch a few tents in your private yard and see how long before you tell us to get the hell out of there. Ya know?
@@JoeBManco we don't know that. Could be private for the road end. Subdivisions often have features like that that are indeed private for residents only. My family cottage is in an area like that. Our beach looks open to the public, but technically is private for residents of the Subdivision neighborhood only. You drive in from town and you may think oh look, a beach on Lake Huron, I'll sit there. But no, you can't. Well you could but the cops are going to tell you to leave.
@@JoeBManco no they do not. Not all. The Subdivision where my cottage is has public roads that go through it, with numbered side streets. You are free to drive right through. But those easements to the beach at every other road end, those are not open to the public. There's no signs or gates that indicate such, but go ask the township and they'll show you right where it's zoned as a private promenade beach for Wallace and Orr Subdivision residents only. Perhaps it can vary by state, but not all subdivisions are gated communities.
I'm riding this creation for about 4 years. I'm still loving it in every other way but I know some drawbacks. anyways at the end of the day, it's warm my heart ❤️ 💙 💜 Love yaa your review ❤️ from srilanka
That was exactly the review I was looking for. I had to sell my car to pay rent at the end of the pandemic. It took me months to scrap up 2k at which point I could buy someone else’s problem or an e-bike. I bought the bike. I ride my kid to school every day and ride myself 2 miles to work. It’s been 2 years. The bike sucks but I fell in love with 2 wheels. There’s a million things I want more, but I e been looking at the Navi because it’s all I need to drive 5 miles a day on streets with a 35mph speed limit. I ain’t looking for any more than that. All your negatives are better than the positives that I have going. So thanks for your input.
If Honda fixes everything wrong with that bike you would be left with, well, a Grom! I dig it for what it is and if I lived in a city I would strongly consider picking one up to zip around.
Yeah that was my thought exactly after watching this video hahaha I have a hard time seeing any advantages over the grom other than the price but at the same time you can find a good grom for about 1000 more
I think I’m gonna get one of these. I just bought a crosstrek and want something light that I can take with me and have a bike to tool around at campsites. Also my commute to work is 5 miles through neighborhood connecting roads until the last mile where it gets to a 45 mph highway. Seems like a good fit, will definitely help keep miles off the new car when weather is nice enough to ride to work
got one for my son. If I wanted to spend more, maybe would have bought something else but maybe not. He already liked tinkering on small engines so a carburetor is familiar territory for him. It's a perfect starter bike, hard to get into trouble on it. Don't we all have that 12 year old (carbed) lawn mower that just starts every time on the first pull? This bike is like that. Honda's small engines are great and reliable. It's not a Chinese carbed engine.
Congrats, you just managed to express in the most versatile ways the meaning of the word slow. You will be soon awarded your place in Guinness book of world records.
Great video as usual, all very valid and honest points. I watched your first Navi video a few months ago before purchasing mine, and feel the same way today. I love the heck out of it, not regrets at all. Starting down the upgrade path to pickup some speed and acceleration has really helped alleviate your #2 dislike; hope you start bolting on the mods soon!
Absolutely agree on all the cons. Would add that going uphill with a passenger may be a real pain in the ass. Otherwise it’s a good machine for one rider, is extremely good at jumping speed breakers:))))
The Navi has a 0.9 gallon tank and a mpg of 132.6 so not bad other than it having a carburetor 👍 best to use unleaded Ethanol for the bike it has some protection against the engine sputtering also I bought a new carburetor which is why I said a 132.5 mpg difference also major speed difference I can get a top speed of 62 mph switched the throttle and the best thing I found out is that you have to fill it up higher than the average of 0.756 I filled it up to 0.923 and major difference also I changed the brakes to hydraulic and made the speedometer LED and added front suspension also the heavier you are the slower the acceleration is so if you wanna hit 62 mph be 165-175 lbs and you’ll get that difference with the government tax and fees plus the bike and all the mods it costed me $3,347 so this can be a nice little moped/scooter if you put the work in.
It is twice the CC of an non-licensed bike, or scooter. It is faster than most of the older bikes twice it’s size 12 years ago , because they updated the gears to allow half again higher speeds as they use to top out at 40 miles per hour!!!!!
Kinda seems like Honda made the price point to compete with ebikes. Has so much more range and the price is comparable. The problem I think they face is that ADM is such a large percentage of the price. If they could get the price point and exclude the dealers or contractually limit ADM then it would make massive sense as an ebike alternative. Go faster, get out of the bike lane for $1800.
@@jeremycurle6880 factors are total cost and whether you want to go on bike trails. For any motorcycle, dealer fees, tax and license. Fees for the motorcycle training if you're taking that (I recommend it). And probably figure on around $1000 in moto gear. If you already have that stuff it comes down to just the out the door price of the bike. But many do not.
@@brando3009 the only ebike that i know of that can really compete with the navi in terms of speed is the onyx rcr, and it costs more than double what the navi does. plus, there's the issue of legality. i am leaning towards the navi.
i’m sold. i live in mexico, the streets are narrow and crowded, so cars are hilariously impractical. this is the perfect combination of fun, practical and and reliable. italika makes basically the exact same thing for a bit cheaper, but i definitely think i’ll get the Honda instead in terms of reliability and built quality
Carbs are pretty reliable, easy and cheap to change, fuel injection is not just a pump, more to it then that and a carb is cheaper. For $1800 what it comes with is good enough. I just bought a $2700 electric bike instead of a dirt bike like I would of rather had. But I think this Navi is what I need so I am going to return the E bike tomorrow and get one of these.
I have the exact same Navi that you have, I love it. It's a honda, automatic, rides 2 people easily, and it's a Honda 🙂........Yeah no reason not to have one.
I enjoyed your video and found it very informative. Apparently, there are wide gaps in pricing for the Navi. My local Honda dealer recently had two brand new ones in their showroom. They were priced at $4299 each.
The handling of The Dockfather was flawless. I subbed for the quality and "style" I guess you could say of the video. I've been on the border of either getting an old-ass goldwing for cheap or a new and cheaply made bike. I honestly still don't know which one I want more but this video made me want the Navi if I go that route.
A PCX or ADV 150 is easy to ride and bulletproof and smooth like whipped butter. But they cost like 2.5x the Navi. Taiwan scooters are good, but they're not quite Hondas. Nothing decent is cheap anymore, except the Navi, but you can't look at one without thinking about upgrades, and pretty soon you're looking at a Burgman. 😂
Thank you for a great review. I really enjoyed watching and learning about this bike so I subscribed. Now I am really thinking of buying this bike. I am turning 62 in March and I have Parkinson's Disease. I have a 97 Honda 1100 Shadow Spirit that has become to big of a bike to enjoy riding safely. So I was actually thinking of getting a scooter so I can ride, hopefully, years to come. This sounds like the perfect bike for me. It has all the fun of riding without looking like a scooter and with 80 mpg I can take it to my doctors office. Also the price can't be beat. This is a bike I can get out on and ride around just for the fun of it. And at my age, I will get there when I get there. I am no longer in a hurry for nothing. I am retired/disabled.
@@ian9185 Oh man, happy to hear you're back at it, sad to hear about slipped discs. If you don't mind my asking, did the jacket you were wearing have a back protector in it? I am only asking because I'm curious if protectors help with slipped discs or if it's an oversight of back protectors.
Great vid, thanks! I think the Navi was meant to be a "gateway drug" - people ride em and get an itch for "the real thing" Probably a big part of the reason so many are for sale already 😆

True. Much better to just leave then having to deal with those kind of people, even if you know you're in the right.
Life lesson I've learned from old people, they'll say everything is private property. I was at a lakeside range funded by the county on campgrounds and a dude told me it was private property. Had a parking lot and park ranger call signs, but yeah.....private lol.

You didn't pay for the dock, you didn't pay to put it in the water, you probably had to ride your bike on a private sidewalk to get to it.
Don't. Just don't.

It's a much better idea - depending on your physical size - to get something between 300-600 cc, or even go the used market and get an older 250 cc, cause most people do drop the bike at some point, or have minor accidents, and you wouldn't want to do that to a 10k+ bike.

I like my Navi even though it has its downsides. I’ve been riding mine to work every night; an hour one-way. In doing so, I have about 4,500 miles on it.
Daaang I think that’s the most miles I’ve seen on a Navi so far! Badass dude! 🤘🏻
Happiness and contentment in life is a matter of managing ones expectations. Just sayin'...
I couldn’t imagine the wrist pain from pinning it down for an hour😂
How’s the ride ?
Just sold mine, roughly 8k miles. Rode it to work mostly. No where near 110 mpg, maybe 70-75. Was fun but it is so cheaply made, things were falling off and coming loose left and right. My exhaust cracked and snapped in half just riding to work. Leaking oil under the storage unit. Honda Grom is where it's at. Don't waste your time with a NAVI.
I’d definitely go with a Navi over the Grom, purely for the storage. That can make a huge difference.
Considering they're both slow af, definitely. Plus price.

Stay safe!

That's just my opinion though, and why people are probably selling.
@@LifeOfBurch 100%.

Hey! Me too! 😊

I got a Navi for my daughter, and I ended up riding it more than her , it’s a blast ! Your review of the Navi was spot on , I got it it over 50 mph, but felt slightly unstable at that speed with tiny tires . Gas mileage falls short , usually ride it pinned , so around 60-65 miles have to go to reserve tank . No regrets here , good bang for the buck .

Lol

That last con is really nice, simple things that just work instead of technology that will get outdated and become impossible to find.

@@ellaandrioaie5731 mine cost the same price per yr $200 full coverage
I just bought one in Australia brand new for $1547US dollars. I couldn't buy a used bike for that even a used Navi! 2 years warranty for the win
I believe the Navi was originally released in India for like $500 a few years back. It's being sold in the US with a huge markup. That's why it has a lot of old tech.
That’s fucked up
It was first released in India and then in Mexico and Latin America before the U.S. of A, I bet that the problems about the suspension, breaks and speed have to do more about you cowboys are larger and heavier than the first public it was designed and intended for, the lack of technology is a real problem whether we talk about India, Mexico or USA 😅
Another important update is the new instrument console that gets a fuel gauge."
considering all of that the price increase makes perfect sense.
That ride out from the dealership was gold! 🤣🤣 and much respect for that interaction in the beginning lol
So that's basically the only brand new motorcycle that will survive an EMP? I'm sold...
2200 out the door? How did u negotiate almost new fees
I wouldn't say wanting to go 65mph is wanting to go "really fast". Spot on about everything else though, I've started seeing more Navi bikes around the beaches down here (Southwest Florida).
How did you get it in black?
@@Enrique-peralta That's the price in Costa Rica. :)
They had one in my local dealership…they didn’t want cash and were insisting i finance it. They wanted me to pay $3,200! I walked out smh!
$3200?! I can buy a used Honda Shadow for that on marketplace lol.
yeah because even if you dont buy it it'll bring people in :/
Dodged a bullet there. You could buy older bikes with more horsepower for that same pricetag. The Navi is hard enough to find locally as it is.
same
Just bought a '23 for a neighborhood grocery-getter. Your video was helpful.
That made me walk out the door
that is how it is with any bike so its easier to compare value by just comparing msrp. the grom is still costs about the same over the navi after all of the markups so the comparison is still valid. anyone that has been to a dealer before, motorcycle or vehicle, understands the msrp is not the final cost. obviously the dealer needs to make money so they pass the freight costs, taxes, registration and their time to process these things on to you. i was told my out the door price if i were to buy it in full and handle registration on my own would be about $2400.
Great review! I use to ride dirt bikes and wanted a bike for work/school commute in a little college town and I’ll probably be purchasing this bike!
@@drmachinewerke1 In 1982 I had been in the army for 4 years, I was riding a 400cc Honda Hawk. These days it's nearly impossible to find anybody willing to go with me. I might just need the courage to do it alone.
So far you have the best description of this bike, hands down dope video. New subscriber. Keep at it man
"Get off my dock! It's private property!" Whatever dude. As for the Navi, they're a cute little scooter that I wish was a 150cc.
You clearly don't own a private dock that has had strangers on it.
If someome rides their damned motorcycle/scooter onto it, damned right they're gonna be told off.
Let me and my friends just pitch a few tents in your private yard and see how long before you tell us to get the hell out of there.
Ya know?
@@jasonjulian1 I seriously doubt that was a private dock. Too many boats tied to it.
@@jasonjulian1 Subdivisions have walls and gates if they are private.
Love the way you handle that guy, you didn't let your pride make that situation way more complicated. God bless...
I'm riding this creation for about 4 years. I'm still loving it in every other way but I know some drawbacks. anyways at the end of the day, it's warm my heart ❤️ 💙 💜
Love yaa your review
❤️ from srilanka
Hahah true story! Pretty much just an automatic Grom at that point.
Seems like a good fit, will definitely help keep miles off the new car when weather is nice enough to ride to work
Greatest Kometary Video Ever Made On RUclips. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Thanks for the follow up review. I was thinking about getting one for my son. Having a carburetor is the deal breaker for me
Yea the carb was almost a deal breaker for me too, but the price roped me in 😅 So far no issues with the carb though (knock on wood 🤞🏻)
got one for my son.
I got this Navi imported from India in 2018, very good scooter, very very low maintenance, It has never ever broken down!
Dope and informative video as always!!
Thanks dude! 😎🤘🏻
Love the banter had a good laugh. Well done you brightened up my night.
Absolutely agree on all the cons. Would add that going uphill with a passenger may be a real pain in the ass. Otherwise it’s a good machine for one rider, is extremely good at jumping speed breakers:))))
Agreed on all fronts! And glad to hear I’m not the only one jumping these things 😏
LifeOfBurch I want one for sure you convinced me, I've been watching so many vids on it
The Navi has a 0.9 gallon tank and a mpg of 132.6 so not bad other than it having a carburetor 👍 best to use unleaded Ethanol for the bike it has some protection against the engine sputtering also I bought a new carburetor which is why I said a 132.5 mpg difference also major speed difference I can get a top speed of 62 mph switched the throttle and the best thing I found out is that you have to fill it up higher than the average of 0.756 I filled it up to 0.923 and major difference also I changed the brakes to hydraulic and made the speedometer LED and added front suspension also the heavier you are the slower the acceleration is so if you wanna hit 62 mph be 165-175 lbs and you’ll get that difference with the government tax and fees plus the bike and all the mods it costed me $3,347 so this can be a nice little moped/scooter if you put the work in.
List of mods (links included) anywhere?
You handled the dock thing well and got over it so quick

It is twice the CC of an non-licensed bike, or scooter. It is faster than most of the older bikes twice it’s size 12 years ago , because they updated the gears to allow half again higher speeds as they use to top out at 40 miles per hour!!!!!
Very well done and informative. Your style of speaking and presenting was very engaging. Thank you
I love a Kickstart! All bikes should have cruise control and Kickstart!
And a centerstand. Except for sportbikes, maybe.
The Navi is Honda's unicorn. Such a great lil creation.
Love from India 😊
Kinda seems like Honda made the price point to compete with ebikes. Has so much more range and the price is comparable. The problem I think they face is that ADM is such a large percentage of the price. If they could get the price point and exclude the dealers or contractually limit ADM then it would make massive sense as an ebike alternative. Go faster, get out of the bike lane for $1800.
i was thinking the exact same thing because i'm actually on the fence right now between getting this or an ebike.
But many do not.

i’m sold. i live in mexico, the streets are narrow and crowded, so cars are hilariously impractical. this is the perfect combination of fun, practical and and reliable. italika makes basically the exact same thing for a bit cheaper, but i definitely think i’ll get the Honda instead in terms of reliability and built quality

I love it when people say it’s private property when it’s not even theirs.
I never had an interest in buying a motorcycle ever in my life, I randomly came along a video about the Navi and I kinda really want one now haha
Its faster than the Honda Ruckus I had 😅
I have a Navi and i love it , I paid 2.500.00 out the door , Pretty cheap and fun if you live in the city .
I enjoyed your video and found it very informative. Apparently, there are wide gaps in pricing for the Navi. My local Honda dealer recently had two brand new ones in their showroom. They were priced at $4299 each.
Are you sure they weren’t the Honda Grom?

I've been on the border of either getting an old-ass goldwing for cheap or a new and cheaply made bike. I honestly still don't know which one I want more but this video made me want the Navi if I go that route.

I like that the thing you seem to like the most is that "you can just start it twist the throttle and go" like an actual motorcycle!
