His soul lives every time he gets destroyed waiting to use another body to take over but it makes sense in the timeline as he wasn’t present during SF3 and In a shadow falls Gill and the illuminati want bison destroyed as a possibility he poses the biggest threat to them.

at first I felt that his death in SFV was somewhat silly.. the hadouken it's not very powerful and it has poor drama at the scene. but watching again as he grunts and laugh it's too sinister xD he will come back and he already know how! great villain!

AFAIK only the stories for the new chars in SFZ3 are canonical. The rest of the chars's canonical stories and endings are in Zero 2 (and SFV confirms this, with Charlie's story)
