M. Bison's Full Story Leading into Street Fighter 6

- Though Street Fighter has seen a few big bad guys at this point, none have even come close to garnering the impact or fan appreciation of M. Bison. Despite not being the franchise's original main antagonist as well as being replaced as such after his initial appearance in Street Fighter 2, the evil dictator easily maintains the heavyweight title of "Street Fighter's villain" to general audiences.
That said, Capcom has chosen not to write Bison back into the story for Street Fighter 6, at least not yet, as he's not on the starting roster nor part of the first batch of planned DLC characters. You could argue that Bison hasn't quite reached the "Street Fighter non-negotiable status" of Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, or perhaps Akuma, but you don't have to look very far or wide to find examples of fans hoping for their beloved wrongdoer to return at some point. We're taking a look over the character's canonical history to help assess whether or not he can and should eventually be added to the latest game's roster as we examine the full story of M. Bison leading into Street Fighter 6.

So, from what I’ve found on JP:
He was an accountant for Shadaloo during their height of its power. He never understood the reason why Bison wanted world domination and seems to think he was a brainless moron because of that.
Apparently in a fit of boredom, he took Psycho Power for himself and left Shadaloo. He found himself to rather easily control Psycho Power, so he seems to be a good fit for its chaotic nature.
He’s using the Suval’Hal tournament to launder money in Nayshall, a developing nation. According to his arcade mode ending though, Psycho Power seems to be corrupting him unknowingly, as he’s starting to see why being an Asskicker is fun, and is shown to be cackling insanely with red glowing eyes in the end, surrounded by darkness and crystalline shapes.
I can tell you finished the World Tour mode :D
Thank you for doing what this video didn't.
Thanks for sharing 👌🏾
The psycho power is putting the PSYCHO into effect
Yeah you wonder if that's just the power...or Bison trying to return!
Well, now we know that JP was literally M. Bison's cash clerk that brute forced his way into harnessing Psycho Power, and ended up even more proficient at using it than Bison. Madlad.
More proficient? Dude got ass kicked by Luke's student.
Bison can ressurect from energy...stop it bruh
Why does anyone consider World Tour to be canon lol
@@ouranos0101well to be fair Luke’s student aka us is an anomaly in the SF verse. Canonically in the world tour story we train under everyone in the roster and learn their techniques at a crazy fast degree. We also are able to use all their styles almost simultaneously. By the very end of the story we are a pretty high level character in the verse, but obviously not the absolute pinnacle. So us being able to handle JP who seems to only have just started becoming near bison level makes sense bc only now is he utilizing psycho power to its fullest.
@@ouranos0101 Pretty sure he was caught off guard or something there.
The AI on the final fight seemed to be really holding back for that fight. Like AI level 2, while most other end game fights might have been around level 4.
M. Bison is such a huge staple to street fighter, at the same level as the shotos. Capcom will be making a huge mistake not bringing him back, or the rest of the grand masters.
Nah. He had a huge impact in 5. Making him the villain, AGAIN? Dude.. we (the ppl who actually play the games) are tired of him. Even SF3's gill was more interesting.
Gill isn't even close to interesting as bison don't kid yourself
Well...he is back
HE IS BACK MATTAFUCKAS
And now we learn that JP is basically a Shadowloo accountant that saw Bison using Psycho power, Thought, "thats cool, I want that..." and get some psycho power... And Bison was apparently cool with this, probably because JP made sure there was the funding needed for Bison to do some ridiculous evil plot, and Bison was happy with that (cue the SF cartoon meme, you know the one.)
YES. YES. YESSSS.
I feel capcom handled bison wrong in terms of his connection to the cast. What makes more sense is for guile to have more of a connection to bison. In 5 there should have been 2 stories,1 being guile, nash and a few member taking on bison and then another plot involving ken and ryu dealing with necalli and ryu's inability to control his inner self.
If JP is one of Bison's peers, Capcom should bring all three of those students back to join together in SF 6. A super awesome twist would be is a FOURTH psycho power user were to appear... the teacher everyone thought was killed all that time ago by Bison.
If they reveal that one of the student is Athena Asamiya, it would be very amusing.
Rose must come back as well!
He's Bison accountant
It would be great if you did a full timeline recap for every character all the way to sf6. From just this video on Bison alone i already think youre better than the majority of people who have tried to do the same.
We have a handful of other characters all in the same playlist. Full stories leading up to sf6, plus what Capcom might do with them next
This hits different now
The SFV at 1:37 was pure gold.
I actually added that in during the final review before posting… one of those little ideas that pops out to you last minute.
@@EventHubsAgreed.

JP in the trailer he was revealed. JP says "he was obsessed you see, with finding a vessel for his power" So perhaps JP absorbed M. Bison's power or something
Bison's return was already foretold in Street Fighter 5 in many character stories that followed A Shadow Falls. It's been almost a decade in game between his "death" in SF5 and SF6... His return to 6 is only a matter of time. Shadaloo may be destroyed, but Bison is forever.
He's already haunting Ed in his dreams. It's only a matter of time before he takes his body and comes back to spread chaos & destruction among the cast.
@@TruGouki Or he could find another body Ed was not the only person to be experimented on by Bison after all
@@TruGouki It's not just Ed. There are forces in the world that seek Bison out. He has a lot of "fans" inside the SF universe that want him back. FANG and maybe AKI are probably working to bring him back for example.
More so, it is the evil in the world that beckons Bison to return as many times as it takes. These fools toying with Psycho Power will only bring him closer to the physical plane again.

He can be in the game without being the main antagonist.

Bison is an SF icon but I think SF5 was a pretty decent send-off to his character. Him being the main antagonist yet again would be kind of tiresome.
Correct like heihachi in tekken they both should stay dead
Slightly disagree. Yes, it's fine keeping him dead for now, but Bison's signature is to repeatedly come back from the dead and be a general menace to the society. He's chaotic evil. No reason, no tragic backstory, nothing. If they tie him in well, it shouldn't get tiresome.
Yet is ok for Ryu, Ken, Chun and Akuma to never miss a game.
Need Fei Long to come back already
Yes, the only one missing from sf2.
Makoto aswel
If you want him back you're going to have to beg the Bruce Lee family. They're the reason you haven't seen him since
Can't wait to know what's Bison connection to JP it's either they were students of their master that was taught Psycho Power, they were friends but let Psycho Power get to their heads and they went their separate ways or maybe Bison betrayed JP in some way maybe Shadaloo was built off of what JP possibly started but we just going to have to see.
Yeah and if JP is connected to G… could tie into Q and this huge network of fun bad guy lore could emerge
Picture if they did like on starwars
Jp was just a clone.
M bison was still alive somewhere.

A scratch or bruise.
They were like he's just back that's

SPOILER
JP worked under the financial department of Shadoloo.
JP says in World Tour that Bison could impart his power and being into another, and that he was a "veritable madman" but definitely is hinting he could be Bison or at least sort of holding Bison's soul. He could be lying to intimidate you though. He also says he hasn't had the psycho power long when he imparts it to you.
I hope that JP is Bisons master.. I mean hard like potential but it would be nice to learn the origin of Psycho Power
Well, if you consider chief financial officer as Master then yes

Ohh, Psycho power showdown
Yeah, it's called MUGEN buddy 😄
What if JP has like a form of DID and M.Bison's spirit attached to JP
Give it a few seasons. It'll happen...
@@JB-MK1987 I'd love to see a young M. Bison fight that would be cool like teenager or young adult like Sakura's age in appearance since we have never had an evil young character yet in street fighter except for Evil Sakura
I would like for M Bison, to come back and perhaps for a showdown between Bison and JP.
Please don't. M. Bison has been redone over & over. Time for a new villain/s, M. Bison can come back much later.
I would rather see a progressed & more powerful Urien come back as a villain (like obtaining more power after the defeat of his brother Gil) or whoever Rose was worried about after her victory against G.
KOF series for example retired Rugal & gave a slew of new antagonists for the series before bringing Rugal back, which only made it more hype when he did.
Doing Bison again in 6 would just be playing him out.
it doesn't matter. its a video game not a movie series. Mortal Kombat know how to keep their fans glued by keeping the original characters in the game.
Or just put him in a new Vs. series game instead of SF.
What if m bison’s body (the one we all know) was actually the body of ryu’s biological father. That would be insane. We technically don’t know what the original body of m bison looks like so it’s not impossible 😂. What a twist that what be.
M.bison has no original body at this point, every game is him using a new(Recreated)body
Great job. I love the Raul Julia snippets.
Bison and C. Viper MUST return in SF6
Bison should not be in street fighter 6
Maybe like a cameo or teaser for the next game or something. It's nice to have a game without him for once imo
Dude JP being the lost Soul Power disciple would be so rad
Bison's absence is the reason why I haven't bought SF6 yet.
Get your wallet ready :P
Bison is my favourite SF character
After now finishing World Tour and seeing how it ends it would be a shame if they just left it at that and did no more story. I hope they do though.
I like how most of the fighting games have a bad guy set up a martial arts tournament
we back boissssss
Since bringing fan favorites back earns more money there is no suprise, Bison is back.
Witty, hilarious and well written. Really good stuff
Gill and his secret group should come back and be in the story since the game takes place after Street Fighter 3.
Would be interesting if they brought back a young Bison, cloned by JP from Bison's DNA to be his protege and student, with a twist that he ultimately turns out to be a good guy and turns on him.
FALKE and Ed make more sense now!

Hes dead
Welp….Bison is back, you called it
The Rose segment of this video was exceptionally well done!!
I think currently, with the ruined lab as a stage, there could be a hint that Bison could return. If you look at the throne, you see his hat there and also a body in a machine. That could mean Bison returns.
Its the developers favorite character so he should be back. I really want claw back though.
I enjoyed this thank you
I hope they bring him as a character who has a "halo" symbolizing that, canonically, he is DEAD, like SNK did with Geese in the Fatal Fury games. I hope Harada does the same with Heihachi in Tekken 8. I, and most 80% of fighting game consumers, can't imagine modern games in the franchise without these longtime characters.
All iconic characters should remain in the game, similar to what Mortal Kombat does.
Bison
Sagat
Vega
Balrog
should all be in Street Fighter 6
M. Bison > Akuma as an antagonist
Great breakdown
People always skim over Ryu beating Sagat. Ryu cheap shot Sagat while Sagat was trying to help Ryu after defeating him in combat.
Now that we know JP’s origin, his potential is even more horrifying than Bison. JP was…
SPOILERS AHEAD
Bison’s ACCOUNTANT! The ultimate power in the universe!
Okay jokes aside, JP is actually pretty cool and his origin ties nicely to Bison while still giving him uniqueness. JP was basically just a money manager for Bison, but one day he started wondering about how he could use psycho power after seeing Bison wield it so powerfully. From what JP says, he finds a way to replicate psycho power for himself and for some reason was pretty gifted with it (makes sense when you know JP better in the story). After that he did his own behind the scenes crime stuff due to him finding martial arts and Bison’s execution of world domination illogical. After Bison died, JP decided to take over the remnants of Shadaloo to forward his own goals which we don’t know clearly yet. It seems JP is being corrupted by psycho power in a similar way to Bison though and is slowly understanding Bison as well as his methods better. I hope JP stays the main villain because he’s really cool and fun to watch/fight. He has the Bison influence and new charm as well. Bison’ chapter was era defining, but all things end and new things rise.
I really like JP's character in SF6. The way carries himself. He's so calm and collected, his catchphrases are either snides or compliments towards his opponents. He's awesome, really feels like a modern-day villain. But of course, as much as I'm not a Bison fan, I'd like him to come back. Not for myself tho, but for people who's mained him for the longest time.
It feels heavily implied that Bison will probably come back, due to how often JP discusses Bison. Which begs the question on what happens when he inevitably does return. Will JP kneal before Bison as essentially his general or will he confront Bison for the full control he may feel intitled to? Hard to say, but both characters feel fleshed out enough that it'd be a shame if either wasn't a continuous part of the franchise.
I'm conflicted on this as we haven't had a full conclusion on gill yet.
@@Thecor13 There's plenty of characters of that era that should make comebacks. Heck, even Necro would be neat to see come back because it'd make people think that _anyone_ could return at any time.

Hope they bring him back. Easily my favourite SF character.
Turns out he is just another Bison underling. Would have been awesome if he were the other student next to Bison.
Not sure if this has come up when it comes to the lore and Bison, but is it possible that he survives dying because half of his soul lives on in Rose? You can't fully kill him, unless you also kill her... Otherwise her existence can serve as an anchor for Bison to reform... Balance, and all that.
The best way they can justify bison's return after death is in world tour have him me a psycho specter and arcade etc have his story be of the past and what lead up to his death or separate adventure of his with each respective character if needed.

M. Bison: I need a vacation, put me on a DLC for $99.99 after 3 months
Yo! JP may be the other apprentice that studied Pyscho Power with M. Bison?
Season 2?
Neo Shadaloo Vs Illuminati
Kolin: ...is this an audit?
JP: ...a DISMISSAL.
I strongly believe Urien and Gill are the other students that M. Bison trained with. Since Gill and Urien use soul power.
I think Urien and gill have elemental powers since gill has fire and ice and urien has electricity
I love that, despite Ryu screaming Hadouken! aloud in every iteration of the series, half of all people still say ha*DOO*ken. Where is this disconnect coming from? Were you all born in Minnesota or just disagree with Japanese?
😂He called Ryu a no body 😂 that's funny 😂
Love Bison needs to be in every street fighter.
If Bison doesn't come back, I would be disappointed. He's like THE guy. There's a reason he was in the launch roster of SFV, and Guile was DLC.
DC would not be the same without Joker or Lex Luthor. MARVEL would not be the same without Doctor Doom or Green Goblin. M. Bison cannot stay dead. I eagerly await his return as a Neo Bison stronger than ever.
where's it said that bison was trained with two other students by the original psycho-power wielder? never heard of that
I think that wasn't a Kamikaze from Bision we probably missed Akuma doing the Shun Gokusatsu on him since he was so fast and pretty much JP for me is the stand out on the new comers his really interesting gameplay and storywise.
Sfv being the picture for hated is hilarious
They don’t need to add Bison back into the story. If they want him playable just make it someone’s nightmare or something. Like Joker in Injustice 2, he was Harley’s nightmare.
Good ol Mike. Gotta love him
Bison has drip, JP has drip, the cycle continues
You may be able to beat him in combat, but you'll never beat that smile.
For the sake of Problem X and the joy I derive from watching him smash fools with his main, I hope they bring M. Bison back in SF6.
Bison in the new RE engine, oh yes.
Sagat joined Bison after losing to Ryu and Only joined because he was offered the opportunity to fight Ryu again. Later he calmed down and adjusted his view of fighting to something similar to Ryu's.
I sure hope so! Plus I want Oro also…
I'll wait for cyber bison
JP didn't feel like a bad guy at all in SF6 World Tour and he was only there for the final fight, so there was no build up either.
I do have a theory on where Bison comes from and I don’t think it’s Thailand(I love sf2 but fuck that stage).
Luckily for us, Bison dabbles in genetic experimentation, and has made at least 2 clones of himself using his very own DNA(I think Ed and Falke may be clones of him too but I’m not entirely sure).
Cammy and Decapre: the two of them are one in the same, though Decapre is the failed model due to the damage inflicted by Psycho Power. We know Cammy isn’t really British and only joined Delta Red after 2, and while they say Decapre is Russian, I don’t know if it’s a similar situation here, but it seems very likely.
That said, all of Bison’s genetic clones have blonde hair and blue/light coloured eyes and have some western/European “origins”. Yet, Bison has black hair?
Tl;dr: I think Bison may be German.
This what makes ED important if he's gonna run Neo Shadaloo
M bison is streetfighter. He was the man. I dont understand why for life hes not in the new 1. He has always been the top sf villian as far as i am concearned. Im an original..
They have used him so much he literally tried to take over the world what is he gonna do now? I prefer new villains and new gigs
Meanwhile... M.Bison is back in SFVI
He was my main in 5 I hope he makes it in 6 but looking slim
I definitely enjoyed the addition of JP cause he feels like a Street fighter character.
So the basic story of SF is, "All the villains wants a piece of that Ryussy"
I feel like JP is using Bisons powers just like how Rugal had onced used akumas powers but then was eventually subdued to akumas mind in the end story once he was defeated..
I feel like Bison will do the same thing when the right time comes and Bison will be JP in full control
I can see them leaving out Bison, Balrog, and Vega

I will say he wields PP better than Bison because fighting Bison has NEVER made me this pissed off when fighting JP, not even Bison in SFV
I wish we knew who Bisons master was we know Ryu’s and Ken’s.
That's it, I'm working out again and developing beard and mustache and getting my hair long. If I get old, I get the JP stance.
