  • Finished work early and rushed out to Nords Wharf Boat Ramp in Lake Macquarie for an afternoon of Kayak Fishing. Managed to catch the scariest looking fish I have ever seen, those teeth could cut your finger off.

    Good to see you out on the water again & not so tired looking as you were in the previous video. Though you did not achieve your goal of catching a large Flathead you did catch a formidable Long Tom (& hope not to catch another one). While the weather has been so poor & changeable I have grabbed opportunities to fish land based Cockle Creek. Nothing legal sized but numbers have been there. Tiny Bream mostly. Disappointed my lure fishing has not produced a catch. Even Cranka Crab missed out. But perseverance pays off. I hope to launch the kayak again when the weather fortecast is more promising. Thanks for sharing.

    How do you find the Lynx version of the H-rails? I currently run the Outback version, but thought the Lynx version may provide greater opportunity for horizontal rod storage.
    Enjoying your approach to your videos as well. Keep up the good work.

    • @ChrispyyWings
      @ChrispyyWings  2 года назад +1

      Hey Paul, I am enjoying the Lynx H rails, keeps my fish finder higher and closer to me. Plenty more storage options and could be perfect for your rod holders. I feel like you can do more with the lynx than the outback rails
      Things I don't like is, you can not use it as a support to sit or stand as it doesn't feel strong enough, and I feel like I need to lean over more to wash my hands in the water or release a fish and I'm worried I might roll because of it. Even though the outback is really sturdy I still worry every time haha 😂
      Thanks mate 😊

      @paulcook6800 2 года назад

      @@ChrispyyWings Thanks for the detailed response mate. Yeah I spoke to the lads at HWS about them and from what I understand, their mounting makes them less solid, but provides more options. The Outback version is solid as a rock isn't it!
      The thought process is I'll be able to place the H-rail rod racks on the inside of the Lynx version, between them and the seat, with the rail itself almost acting as an additional barrier to help prevent the rods falling in.
      I'll keep looking into it.
      Thanks again!

    • @ChrispyyWings
      @ChrispyyWings  2 года назад

      I removed the hobie H rail kit and put the new Lynx H rail kit on instead.
      Been testing it out and so far it's not a bad option. Gets the fish finder higher up and more options for mounting.

    • @ChrispyyWings
      @ChrispyyWings  2 года назад

      It depends what you are looking for. If you just want support when standing and sitting go the outback kit.
      If you want to mount things higher up, the lynx.
      No worries mate 😊 good luck
