I'm 58. I was 16 when Rush came into my life. They are a huge part of what makes me... me. They are... the greatest band of all time. Long live Rush.
let me guess 2112 fom the Columbia record club
I´m 54. Same road.....RIP Neal...
Saw them in 77, my first rock concert
55. My first two concerts were Permanent Waves tour in '80 and Moving Pictures in '81. Rush are in my DNA.
My First Rush 8 Track was 2112. First show was Moving Pictures Tour in Feb of 81.
I bought 'All the worlds a stage' in 1976 and was immediately blown away! I'm 66 now and still love them! There'll never be another Rush!
This song has to be one of the greatest of all time. I mean, I can't listen to it without getting goose pimples. Raw power.
Same here. Listening now 1 2 buckle my shoe. Mmmhhhmm
please don’t call them goose pimples
And it's a love song! Lol
1 2 3 44444444,angora ball room?name not sure
A little tear as well, 60 now.
Such great memories from such a great band.
My gosh, how lucky were we to be born in the '60s and to come of age with the musical freedom of the '70s?
Absolutely true
How right you are sir I was born in 1957 I was seventeen when this album came out Fly by Night we want to see them at the auditorium theater that year incredible group incredible show lot of great memories and yes we were so very lucky to be born in the late fifties and then come of age like you said to enjoy real music with heart and feeling
I envy you. I came of age with the rise of grunge. Ugh.
Sounds like we could sit around a fire smokin some black kashmire, and panama red and talk of those days when it was all so different..music was real....hard to believe what this world has become...ya made me smile so had to say ...ya I remember
@@rmartin7558 yeah 👎 I was blessed to see Eush when I was 15 in 77’
Long live the memories and the awesome music with Gedd’s voice screaming out!
One of Rush's most underrated songs particularly the double riff near the end.
If you wish you can also see my tribute video to Neil Peart on my channel
@AnthonyLennen YES! You're CORRECT! I dedicated it to my brother (who loved RUSH & introduced them to me at a very early age) when I was about 12. Later on, when we got older, my brother dedicated it back to me(I was prob 18 or 19)
I played it at his funeral in honor of him in 2014 after he was killed
No radio play EVER. WTF
The whole album is greatly underrated
Did anyone else get chills of joy, watching this??!! No one but, RUSH!!!
arms, legs, the whole deal.
Bigtime
Man, it doesn't seem so long ago. Time flies. Rest in peace, NEIL PEART.
If you wish you can also see my tribute video to Neil Peart on my channel
What a gift to be born in a time that allowed me to see this band multiple times live, to enjoy travelling with them on their musical journey, and to be able to play their music live, truly three of the greatest musicians to exist
Soundtrack of my life, Brother!
There's RUSH...
and then there's everybody else.
+Keenan Glass Agree
+Keenan Glass Ain't that the TRUTH! :-)
+Keenan Glass RUSH DOES INDEED RULE...the rest merely drool
The Bear Bryants of Rock, and the Nick Sabans of prog. Quite simply the best band ever put on this planet.
@@RedElephantStampede indeed Red, I'm convinced these 3 geniuses are NOT from this planet.
I’m a Rush fan since 74. What I like about them is that they’re so ordinary regular guys with an extraordinary gift of music they share with us who get their message of liberty. Extreme articulate and mellow in interviews! No posing or put on. They put us Canadian rockers on the international stage in an honourable way. They don’t sing nonsense like so many do. Real socially conscious gents who make us really think. Thanks Rush!🤟🏻
I appreciate that you spelled out "...their message of liberty..." well-said, thanks✌️
Gene Simmons dislikes this post.
Its funny, but this song always brought me into another dimension, the guitar sound, Geddys voice, the pacing, the way the song climax...the title, just like Cinderella man and Twilight Zone, there is something that only Rush can make, a a trio, as a band, as artist, this is why music touches everyone in a different way
No one at the Bridge
Never thought I'd see live footage of THIS song in my lifetime! Brings back great memories of listening to Fly By Night, Caress Of Steel, 2112, Hemispheres, Farewell To Kings and All The World's A Stage during all night Dungeons and Dragons marathons in high school!
It's not..guy just made this video up. Not actual footage of this song.
Don't pop his balloon.
The sound is from All The Worlds A Stage.. The video is compilation from their performance at Don Kirshners Rock Concert in 1975.
Bill Tobin 😊
Great editing job. It's difficult to tell that this isn't a live shot of in the end
In the middle of watching this I turned to my wife and said Thank GOD I wasn't old enough to see the music of this age live!!! I don't think I would be the same person that I am today! I think I would have traveled the world any way I could just to watch them all play live!!! AWESOME!
I traveled Ohio, Michigan and Indiana to See Dirk, Lerxst and The Professor! Saw them LIVE well over 75 times and STILL have most of my ticket stubs....but more importantly They Are Tattooed On My Heart and Soul.....I'm a better Man for having been RUSHED in April of 1975! Cheers To All Who understand this feeling, words are not needed....for those who do not understand....words would never explain.
Nobody could touch them, then and nobody can touch them now. Kings of the Realm
Rest in Peace Neil. Man. This video took me back to Cobo Hall in Detroit, 1979. I have tears streaming down my face. I can't believe Neil Peart is gone. He was my inspiration to learn how to play the drums. "In the End" has always been my favorite RUSH tune. I'm crushed he is gone, but thankful you posted this video. 💔🥁⚘
Thanks... If you wish you can also see my tribute video to Neil Peart on my channel
I remember buying Rush's debut & Fly by Night on one cassette tape. In the liner notes it said, " For best results, listen at maximum volume". Wore that tape out! Gotta love early Rush, just something special about everything they recorded.
Yep I remember made loud to play loud!
Dam I miss the 70s
After. 1 2 buckle my shoe. Alex still sends shivers down my spine. His guitar from that point forward. Blew the house away.
in my 20s, at Rush concerts, I was only mesmerized by Neil and Ged. 30 years later it seems like Alex is genius and the glue that connects them. Love them all to infinity for this amazing music and lessons. (I made sure Rush was my son's first concert - created another fan.)
Eddie Van Halen was asked. How does it feel to be the best guitarist on earth. Eddie said. I wouldn’t know. Ask Alex Lifeson !!!!!
@@johnegli1308 They were both masters of tone, rhythm and creating massive sound with a single instrument. Eddie’s virtuosity is/was extreme and immediate. Alex’s is more sublime and the more you listen to him, the greater appreciation for his genius emerges. I’ve never grown tired of listening to either/both of them daily, literally. 🫡🥇🔥
Greatest band in the Galaxy 🤘🏽🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶🎸🥁🍻
Every juicy note that alex plays is pure honey.
wilbert916 all of them Neil Alex Geddy ❤️👍🏻❤️💪🇨🇦💪⭐️👈🌙👈🍺🇨🇦
Oh yes❤❤❤❤❤
How does he manage that?? Entre Nous, Natural Science, Closer To The Heart..And so on!!
Agree
Just as they mentioned in Xanadu, it's like drinking the milk of paradise
If I had a time machine I would go back to this moment in time
No song makes me cry right now...more than this one!
If you wish you can also see my tribute video to Neil Peart on my channel
I hear ya...we were so very blessed...
Thanks man...44 years ago I saw Geddy holding his 4001 when I unfolded All The Worlds a Stage, him and Neil...were my greatest teachers as a musician...we were damn lucky/blessed to be born when we were...appreciate the video and the tribute...
Your welcome planet earth, we Canadians are so proud of their accomplishments, stars aligned when Neil, auditioned and Ged Alex chose him ,but I heard Alex was in a mood and let ged do the rest, could be wrong on that, 3 humble people that worked at the craft of music, man i miss Neil 😢
3 of the greatest ever.
In the end will never get old and being 62 neither will I....
Seriously, as a RUSH fan since 1977, I'm blown away by the outstanding job you've done putting this together. Seriously, thank you so much for doing this. Brings happy tears to my eyes. Cheers!
One of my favorite Rush songs........greatest band ever or at least tied with Zeppelin,
Steve Nejezchleba your wrong it’s rush
Dang I love the early Rush and Geddy's voice is outstanding! When I first heard them in mid 70's I fell head first. I remember taking an old white t shirt and putting the RUSH album under it. I traced out the letters and proudly wore it, being quite possibly THE FIRST RUSH SHIRT EVER! RIP Neil we all miss you....
i Love that, Bill. that's what we did!
👍🙂✌️
A monumentally POWERFUL song as a teenager when In the End was released; the deep breaks and ramped parts...
A very, very impressive song yet, for all the same reasons!!
I was 15yrs old the first time I seen them in Chicago they played this and I was filled with tears of Joy my Favorite Band I seen then 13 times Im 54 years old and Cried when then Retired but Long Live Rush and my they enjoy a well deserved retirement .
Ur not alone buddy, same here!! 18 times and was depressed to here it also.
OMG,LOVIN Geddy's all "WHITE" 70's "Leisure-suit"!!! You stare at that long enough, and it's like hearing the "hissing" of your 8-track playing through your car-stereo!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.................
This is such an incredible song.
This band was definitely ahead of its time.
I'm 55 can't believe I never saw them live .
63,Canadian, Drummer and my influence, there is before Neil, and after I heard Neil ,changed my direction, practice before practice ❤
The Guitar in the beginning is beautiful,, like a steady running stream on a sunny day Rush is simply amazing.
Or rising high like a mountain and falling gently like rain ? 2112
To watch an early Rush video like this is a nostalgic trip to my teens! Tickets were probably around fourteen bucks! I sure do miss them. But they live forever on RUclips!
Dude tix were likely about $5 tops in 1975 before they were headlining & barely known!
I saw them Aug.24, 1979 in Hamilton, ON, Canada & tix were only $12.50 each then!
Saw them at the Capitol Music Hall in Wheeling, WV in December 1977. Tickets were $6.00. Rush was the headliner. Can’t remember who opened. Maybe Lake?
Tickets were 4 5 and 6 bucks to see rush in 1975. I also paid 3 bucks to see them at Randy rodeo in San Antonio's Oct of 1975.
What a fantastic video...
Damn, getting misty eyed here watching it.
Miss the lads a little more each day!
Aloha tonc2112 and to The RUSH Faithful in The Fall Of 2023 who STILL Rock To Dirk, Lerxst and The Late Professor! Been close to a Decade since I first came across this Classic Homemade Visual of "In The End" from The Tonc Man! I recently went on a binge of certain RUSH tunes playing them with a few mates in an old Barn on private property WITH permission! LOLOL And this tune is one we ALL enjoyed plowing through! Still gets the goosebumps a flowing too! So to come full circle I came back to The Beginning! Cheers and Keep Strutting RUSH FANS!
Rush had the hair the clothes and the talent going on in the beginning... they had yet conquered the world and were seriously rock n rollin all over the place. What a fantastic band that made some of the best music ever
Senior in high school in 75...68 shows first in 77 last LA Forum 2015...I miss these guys and the road trips
1977 Santa Monica Civic arena… UFO supported Rush on the 2112 tour and this was my first exposure to my favorite band 😉 I was hooked from the opening notes of complete pure bliss…I’m sure all you “old guys” like me appreciate some of the newer bands that “get it” and if you do please give a listen to The Warning !! 3 sisters from Monterey Mexico who just have that 3 piece magic…they absolutely blow me away !
Same..60 now....all the worlds a stage then the back catalog, fly by night , 2112 etc...a big big part of my life
For whatever reason this is my absolute favorite Rush song of all time. One, Two, Buckle My Shoe! All The World's a Stage was the best kegger album and this was the best song.
Great song...great band!!!
My Most Favorite Song By The Almighty RUSH. Thank You Forever For This. Chiraq
One of the best ❤
The three of the are incredible. A sound that will never get replaced.
brings back memories loved it
RUSH ... My first Big Concert at the CNE Grandstand 1977 !!
70's Rush was the best.
I soooooo agree. But why do I feel so ashamed to say this in a Rush forum?
70 80 90 rush 1
Yep. I love the progressive Rush.
I just finished watching Van Halen live and I had to just jump here.
Three of the greatest virtuosos rock has ever had in their respective instruments making more noise and better music that many bands nowdays. When Alex Lifeson plays I find myself looking for the other guitar players in the band. Enjoy!
WOW!!!! I hadn't seen this until now.....ETERNAL thanks to you for doing this, it's breathtaking!
Thx to you, I'm really glad you like it... Thanks once again, cheers
That was beautiful. Thank you so much for that!!
What a gem!
One of my favs. ❤
Great vid and good show tonc2112. Looooovvvvvvved it. Thanks so much. Up and coming with attitude. This was a fabulous era of Rush and so quickly gone in the moment. Least we can reminisce thanks to you. 40 years, where'd they go. Unbelievable. Good listening to all my Rush brothers and sisters. Fly By Night.
Whoever thumbs down this...? You are no Rush fan. It's very cool what this guy is doing here. He took the time to put together the rare footage with the music. Very nice. Rock On Rush Fans
My prayers to the band because I’m 59 and I go back to 75 born in 62 I was and Will 4Ever be with RUSH 4ever
A band possessed ! You watch Geddy sing, and his eyes just roll back in his head! You just don’t see stuff like this anymore! On a whim I bought 2112, because I thought they looked really cool! Been a fan ever since!
That's the same way I got into Rush. I liked the 2112 album cover. And the intro to the story on the back sounded science fiction-y, which I was into, so I went for it. 8 bucks was a lot for a 14-year-old in August of 1976. But it was worth it, and Rush has been a constant presence in my life since then. I got so much from those guys: emotional feedback on timeless wavelengths, bearing a gift beyond price, almost free.
One. Two. Buckle my shoe.
Or three FFFFFFOOOOOOUUUUURRRRR
On Fifth Orders Of Angels, he goes One...Two...Three... Foourrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Mid '70s Fly By Night era Rush. More than 40 years of incredible music. I got into them in the late '70s. Where did the time go? RIP Pratt.
My Favorite RUSH song WOW
Most excellent
this is the best video that has ever existed
I love this song. Crazy it wasn't released as a single. Thanks for the post.
thank you ! my favorite song ! been listening to the best band ever since 1979. rest in peace Neil
Oh God...Rush...you can take me, for a little while. You can make me smile, in the end. And the tears confirm it...
If you wish you can also see my tribute video to Neil Peart on my channel
That was awesome!!! Thanks! I used to listen to this in high school...brings back memories. I've heard this track before...waves in the beginning but never saw the video. Thanks you again
There is no other band like Rush, They are so under rated it pisses me off I think this is one of the bands of all time
Just be Glad you get Them! Most Minds cant handleThe Rolly Trinity!
Ziggyzag Zi hehe
TurtleBoss Productions No way are they,or ever will be 'underrated.'
they will always be underrated but that's OK with me because to me they will always be the BEST. And in true Ayn Rand fashion I don't give a shit what anyone else thinks.
I prefer the term overlooked
Thanks! One of my many favorite Rush songs.
Hells yes.The boys before the rough edges were sanded off.Pure gold.
The crazy thing here is, they were struggling big time, financially with the critics, getting fans. You could see they were angry, so much passion and also frustration in their stage presence. Their next album though amazing did poorly, they were fading away, basically done. When they made 2112 is was pretty much their farewell album a big FU to everyone that didn't believe in them. They went for it, all in. But that album made them who they are, it was exactly what they were and the rest was history. One of my all time favorite bands.
This performance was not from the tough years. This video was spliced together from a later Radio City Music Hall gig. 1980 i think it was.
I will be 59 this June and was aware of Rush in 8th grade when a classmate drew 2112 in art class. In 1979, I heard the Xanadu off the Farewell to Kings album and it brought beauty to my senses. In 1981, after hearing the midnight radio release of the entire Moving Pictures album, I bought the album that week. Rush music became part of my musical soul.
Visiting friends with my family in Toronto in 74. My brother and the older brother snuck out one night. I woke up as they were climbing out the window. Asked them where they were going and was threatened with an untimely death if I narc'd on them. The next day I asked where they went and they said to see a band called Rush. I said in my 12 yr old wisdom, "What a stupid name for a band..." and the rest is history...LOL
Dig that white suit! An amazing memory from the masters of music - RUSH.
Living a couple miles of where Geddy and Alex grew up I am prejudiced so they are the greatest band to come out of Canada and perhaps the most talented band ever.
love this song
Epic Work Cheers Im literally in tears!! RIP Professor!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks... If you wish you can also see my tribute video to Neil Peart on my channel
Being a teenager of the late 70's early 80's I was and still am a big RUSH fan. At the time, we were NERDS. Looked down upon as "computer geeks",outcast. But we, as NERDS had something in common and that was Rush. We understood the complex arrangements. The amazing lyrics (que subdivisions) and they where our little secret, or maybe a way to get lost in our desire to be..excepted. As time past, the main stream began to see what we " NERDS" have been saying for years. Rush has no equal as of today, there influence on today's rock is an absolute, no question. And finally as a "NERD" we collectively stand up be proud because we are now the bar. And RUSH is our music.
johnroosterrod65@gmail.com Yes, turborush1! I was from a small town in Central Minnesota, and although I didn't discover Rush until 1976, I too was a geek... But when Permanent Waves came out, It really put a damper on what I thought of the band. Now I know that music was changing, and Rush was trying something new. Plus they missed their families too. They toured constantly, and they wanted to get off the 'Merry go around'. Semper Fidelis
I had heard Tom Sawyer and Subdivisions, but it wasn't until I heard the All the World's a Stage version of this song till I knew I was a full on Rush fan. Great video, thanks!
Very nice Love Rush and Le Studio Morin-Heights
Ive owned multiple copies of every album through Signals; cassette, LP, CD, and digital.
This is my favorite song of all time. First heard in 1976.
BRILLIANT..... His vocal is unbeaten since he sang this song. Cause this is something absolutely fuckin unequalled
Stupendous!! Thank God for Canadien Rock!! Thank You Toronto for this amazing talent!!
I'm from Upstate NY. A border town as they say. 1 hr south of OTTAWA!! So I know the deal !! Saw Rush many times through the years. Love the older stuff. Raw and powerful, like no other!
The title of this posting speaks for itself. Very clever editing resulting in a near-convincing recreation of a performance that never happened. Well done.
Thanks!!! If you wish you can also see my tribute video to Neil Peart on my channel... Cheers
@@tonc2112 You're welcome. Actually, what I should have written was: hauntingly convincing simulation.
Alan, very well put. Video was almost over and saw your comment. I forgot this wasn't a single performance! VERY well done. Kudos to this producer! Salut!
Thank you for sharing this absolute gem 💎
RIP Neil....first album he drummed on...wow...goona miss him something terrible:(((((

That is one class act.
Great job!!!! Great song which I had forgotten aboooowt🇨🇦😀RIP Master Neil.
Thanks... If you wish you can also see my tribute video to Neil Peart on my channel
My fav from Fly by Night
His voice was so good to me.
Saw them when I was 16 for the first time. So glad I made it to the 2015 tour. RIP man, you enriched our lives.
Stupendous job on this tribute!!! One of my favorites of early RUSH!!! Thank you for this, so many great memories, RIP 'PROFESSOR' PEART!!
God, these kids were like 21 years old. It amazes me the musical transition they went through between their 1st and 2nd albums.
Way underrated song. Nice job!
I saw them around 1981-1982 in Chicago at the old cominsky park home of the white Sox.foghat opened for them.rush was amazing. Man I miss those day's when the great bands were touring.what an awesome time to be alive.
In the End ... I could see, I could shine, I could feel, you took me for a ride, you made me smile, I was slower and I could also see that. Now we are all gone.... Sweet memories, flashing very quickly by, reminding me, and giving me a reason why. There is no one to see, shine or feel what that was, In the End...
I remember this bootleg.. Classic
I saw RUSH the first time in late 1974 before FBN was released. I am pretty sure they played this song! They were the middle band between Diamond Rio, & Ted Nugent. I was young, about 15 or 16, & they were a bluesy based band, very good! Then in 1976 when I heard 2112 for the first time I was hooked! I saw them 5 more times in the next 6 years!
Many of the comments believed this video to be of real performance. Job well done! Loved it.
This song live is awesome, saw them perform it in 1977, I was 15
