I felt you rushed the Seal part. I still find it confusing. Ie I just started, and I had one that said it would drop currency, and I completed that, which made it into another, which said I would find a Vaal sidearea, where it would drop a Vaal orb. Now, should I have sealed the first part, before it had a chance to complete this, or, and does seal stop (I figured it is a chain) the chain, and if so, can it be opened up again?
Ruslan Victorenko When a prophecy is sealed you cannot complete it. Sealing it essentially saves it for later use, it doesn't allow you to get multiple uses or anything. So only seal stuff you don't want to do or stuff you want to sell/give to other players.

start now. a new league just started and that makes it the perfect time to start. there is no reason to not start, the game is free and even if your first charictor sucks you will still be able to get to level 60 or so and learn a lot, not to mention the fun you will have
leagues are basicly updates that change the game a little for a few months, then a new league with a new theme will be released. The reason for now being the best time to start is that everytime a nonperminant league comes out it puts everyone back on 0 so the economy is refreshed and everyone starts from the beggining. Hope that helps a little.

It's incredible how much the game continues to evolve upon it self and do it well. I am level 83 and had a general understanding of prophecies but needed some clarity because there's so much to do in this game that it was never really important for me to research... So thank you! It's amazing that this is out of date and irrelevant in some ways because of how much the game has changed but is still an important and fun component of the game.

ok, so i went and filled my prophecy tab, went off to one area and completed the one prophecy it gave me, when i went back to town to sell items, ALL my prophecies disappeared, haven't done a single one since act one, normal mode (now upto merciless) because i'm not sure if i was meant to sit down for hours and hours grinding till i finished them all, or if the game bugged and scammed me out of silver coins.
Ziggy, one hint I'm giving friends is to not use the coins unless they have enough to seal if needed. This way, I can hold on prophecies for when I can get the best value out of them. For example, in Normal, prophecies may be sealed for up to 3 (not sure of it, though) coins, so I only seek a prophecy if I have 4+ coins and I only spend them until 3 coins remain. In Cruel, I'm holding coins until have 6+. Not sure how much it costs to seal in higher leagues though.

So, I just came back (Stopped mid Perandus due to irl stuff) and found this guy checking me. Suppose they did stick with the prophecies system beyond the Prophecy league. Seems like an extra layer of fun on top of what was already fun.
Seeing as there are new folk in the comments here. You don't have to actually "equip" the item you want to get fated version of, for it to work. It just has to be in your inventory when you kill the given monster. Also the fated items keep the rolls of the base item, so it's good to use perfectly rolled items to fate.
Thank You! I always wondered whether it was a good idea to spend my silver coins while doing the story/lower maps or better spare them for later. Now I know I can continue seeking prophecies and have some active all the time. (And I am glad about it because I am too curious to keep the silver coins :D)
Something I noticed is if you get one that is a random enemy encounter and has no benefit, you can reset the instance getting rid of the prophecy and not having to fight anything hard.

I dunno how clear it was for people that might not already know but, the prophecies "kill a powerful X" tell you the EXACT MOB TYPE you need to kill -- for example, "Ancient Archer" is not any skeletal archer, it is specifically the mob called "Ancient Archer" (which does use the same model as similar mobs such as the "Brittle Bleeder", but spawns in particular on the ledge) tl;dr "ancient archer," "bearded devil" etc. are not descriptions, they are the literal name of the mob (which you can search on the wiki)
Also found out that the prophecy that makes a 5 link guaranteed can be used on a lower lvl item to FORCE the 5 socket link. Used it on a LvL 33 Wideswing and it still got the 5 link.
Not sure if this has been said, but I'm fairly certain that sealing a chain prophecy resests that chain to the first segment. So sealing a Feral Lord V will give you a Feral Lord I item. Not 100% sure if that's correct though.
This is something I might enjoy seeing in the main game. Of course, things don't tend to get included unless they're pointless and annoying, like tormented spirits
I get on average 2 coins per zone and most I've had was 6. Besides that, been having a blast, well done GGG. On side note, the prophecy chain for Fellshrine broke and now the instance always crashes. Anyone else having this?
I just want to point out that there is a reward for certain "map mods" even on just regular zones. I've gotten tempest on a zone, and the zone had a modifier to rarity and quantity.
Only had one I had to seal "Seek a powerful Oak Devoted" hunted and hunted, but never found. Plenty of other fun though, like fighting Brutus and Kole together in the prison.

I actually feel this is some thing Poe needed. I hope they keep this game mechanic going forward, as it deals with some of the repeatedness the game suffers from when you have completed the game like 20 times :3
My question is, if the prophecy is not there, will that boss still spawn in that zoen by chance? Or does the prophecy need to state it first before the rare boss spawns?
playing since early 2012, cannot remember any league that was close that cool and impactful on gameplay and how you do things... perandus was "fine" for a week - you saw old items again, had some fancy fights and tons of fps problems.. but after a while, you got bored and he was nothing else than "that fat guy you throw coins at"... prophecies have a real impact on GAMEPLAY, thats what we need! remember tempest? that was probally closest to the impact on gameplay - many ppl never saw that (thanks ggg for hc/sc only leagues -.-) and still i love prophecies even more! favorite league so far and a really great step in development of the game... sadly it will be gone after league (kinda sure about that... tempest also had to go..)

The consecuences for being a noob player. Who knows, maybe when I get to a higher level I can actually modify something to make the build better. hey ziggyD at what level do i unlock all major (valuable) prophecies now with the 3.0 oriath patch? i sometimes dont know when i levelup when to take prophecies. do they unlock after lvl 60, 70, 80 or after i finished all acts?
Are you more likely to get a act specific prophecy such as : The Bowstring's music" when you are in that act so in this case act 4? or just as likely to get it from navali when in act 1 say?
I think you cant get prophecys for earlier or later acts, only for the act your in or "global" ones that will occour at some point whenever. For example i got 2 quests for fellshrine ruins in act 2, when i was just about to leave that act. So i think it would be wiser to use your coins in the start of an act and try avoid using them in the end of an act. Thats my experience so far at least.

Hi Ziggy, say I'm lvl 40 and just sealed a prophecy that I suspect I'll get a unique from. If I do so and use it again when I'm level 60, will I get a level 60 unique item ?
Information on sealing is very lackluster. What do I do with the item I get? can I drag it into the Prophecy again to get it? Does it count towards upgrading uniques? Whats it for acutally?
The prophecy becomes a usable item. If you right-click it with an open prophecy slot, it will be "unsealed" and added to your character's other prophecies. You need to have an upgrade prophecy active (in your sheet) for it to work, you can't just be carrying the tradeable prophecy item.
I think you miss out one point, instead of sealing prophecy when ur prophecy is full, you can abandon the prophecy? like you mention chain prophecy before, if you leave the instead when the prophecy were created/available in the zone it'll be disappear, which is another to remove prophecy, correct me if i'm wrong TQ
the league is amazing, having a lot of fun with it i traded in 1st Day 1 c for 13 coins so i can keep all 7 prophecies up and get rid of the anoying/not rewarding ones and make like 15c 10 vaal's other currencys few uniques Got unique strongbox, with Notting special in it but still. And im only 59 lvl like cant w8 to experience endgame maps with this, i started Playing poe in perandus and it was awesome but this league seems even better atm ill have to beat now my time on hitting 95 lvl :D

Sometimes a prophecy might be that you will find something questlike heh but prophecys aren't really quests themselves.

the prophecy quests still show up on quest tracker even if you have the tracker turned off. FYI

I did the powerful devourers prophecy. It was a fun challenge when I had FIVE rare devourers in one spot plus The Guardian on the Mound :D

Had one that if I traded 5 uniques I got a new one back, found it handy for trash ones. Also there are ones for unique bosses in certain areas.
Can't wait for the Garena servers to get this league ( 9/6/16 ) .-.

So how do you actually Seal a Prophecy ? The wiki says you need an item to seal it into, but what item can be used and what is the best item to use ?

You don't need quest tracking enabled to see it on the UI.

You also got a drillneck from hunting down a powerful ancient archer? Might be coincidence, but it would make sense that it's swayed...
All of the 'kill a rare thing to get a certain unique' ones seem to be set and not random at all.
Yeah I've done the drillneck one 4 times now, always Drillneck it's garuanted. :)

The prophecy becomes a usable item. If you right-click it with an open prophecy slot, it will be "unsealed" and added to your character's other prophecies.
You need to have an upgrade prophecy active (in your sheet) for it to work, you can't just be carrying the tradeable prophecy item.
I think you miss out one point, instead of sealing prophecy when ur prophecy is full, you can abandon the prophecy? like you mention chain prophecy before, if you leave the instead when the prophecy were created/available in the zone it'll be disappear, which is another to remove prophecy, correct me if i'm wrong TQ
Only works for some of them.
If you have the option of doing that it's a good idea but that is not practical or even possible for all of them
There's also chance orb -> unique. If that's a guarantee, then it's easily the most valuable one. EASILY.

the league is amazing, having a lot of fun with it i traded in 1st Day 1 c for 13 coins so i can keep all 7 prophecies up and get rid of the anoying/not rewarding ones and make like 15c 10 vaal's other currencys few uniques Got unique strongbox, with Notting special in it but still. And im only 59 lvl like cant w8 to experience endgame maps with this, i started Playing poe in perandus and it was awesome but this league seems even better atm ill have to beat now my time on hitting 95 lvl :D
