Meanwhile Tal: "Why wait until move 12?"
Tal is an exceptional case. He was an extraordinary human being with a genius mind. No one can be compared to Tal. Even Tal himself said that "There are 2 types of sacrifices. One normal sacrifices and the second are Tal's sacrifices."
Lol this is the greatest chess joke i've ever read. seriously im lmao
@@kazimahbubafzal1249 actually the exact quote is "There are 2 type of sacrifices, correct sacrifices and mine" Cheers Mate
Because only three beings know how to use a paintbrush on a chess board, and two of them are AIs.
LostMyPlaintext would you pull you're bullocks out b4 you needed 2 mate?
WOW! AMAZING PLAY BY KASPAROV! When Kasparov sacrifices his Queen, his opponents are probably thinking, "How am I going to lose, now?"
+Lawrence Lepes It would seem so :)
"I'll show ya"
After his Queen sac, I actually thought, hey I could play white and beat Kasparov here. Fat chance!
nah i think his opponents are probably thinking nervously about what kasparov is about to do
Only Kasparov could give Queen odds to another world champion as black and still win.
Kasparov sacrifices queen
*I resign*
You made me laugh!!!
I laughed to death
No Kramnik made many mistakes after that.
i could win the exact same game.
@@loveandrespect6762 I'm sure you could
@@loveandrespect6762 kappa
Kasparov: "It really was just me blundering my queen, but quickly pretended it was on purpose."
Kramnik: "I fried my brain trying to figure out the purpose of the 'sacrifice'. That's why I played badly.'"
Kasparov: "He he he... You're all wet!"
This comment is sick! Lol. I just cant stop laughing! Damn it. Lol
all wet from what??
I was thinking that. In retrospect, it all looks so logical.
Yeah I wonder how many times that's what actually happened - a player blundering his Queen and eventually coming out victorious, making the mistake look like a genuine sacrifice.
"Wet behind the ears" meaning you're a rookie
Nxe4 is actually the top engine move, which goes to show you how strong his preparations were, without the help of engines!
Engines already were at that times, yes, they were much weaker, but Kasparov was the first GM of engine era(he starts this era lol), who start using computers for preparations.
@@uduehdjztyfjrdjciv2160 naaaa, there was nothing as strong as Stockfish back in the days. It took GMs real analysis work as opposed to today, where GMs ask engines to do the work and just memorize lines.
This is the oldest video I have watched of you and your commentary. I simply want to commend you for your growth as a commentator, teacher and entertainer. Also for the growth of the channel.
Agreed. Started a bit coarse but he has polished himself quite nicely.
6:06 the dog moved his paw
perfect backbencher example 😂😂😂🙏
cute
:D
@Janne Niemelä this is adorable
This comment is quality
I love how his dog is often in the background sleeping. Clearly that dog loves his spot!
Well, in that case, something tells me that his dog knows more about chess than you do.
@@Unknown-qy3dx You troll like a checkers player.
Plot twist : His dog is actually a grandmaster in dog chess and it isnt sleeping, but really dreaming about a chess match with another pro dog grandmaster in the dog world.
You need to develop your dog early in the RUclips career.
...to understand the size of Kasparov's magnificance all you need to do is to realize that such an amazing game including a Queen sacrifice at an early stage of the game against Kramnik(not just an ordinary chess player) is hardly known among chess players all around the world...the reason is that Gary's history is so full of exciting victories that more often than not games of such quality and perfection are somehow crowded out by even more substantial performances!
amazing..what balls of steel Kasparov had
He probably still has them.
I thought he played with his head. I don't think he plays with his balls, well not in public.
So you're saying that he moved pieces with his head. I thought he uses his hands for that.
what ? I thought he uses his fingers to move pieces ...
hulibazarish what? I thought he used his finger nails...
You should see yourself in the future! You're waaay better.
Good to see how far you've come, well done
Thank you :)
@@agadmator definitely way better

because of the title this video is going to explode the internet
You disapprove of the title Suren? :)
totally approve!!
Suren, go to your room. Did you get permission from your mom to leave your channel?
droceretik that is a gold humour nugget
@agadmator's Chess Channel @Suren You two should play against each other, and upload the games
(2021) Nostalgia! for the old background with spiral staircase and young dog (I know his name but have rubbish memory) Love Kasparov's grasp on owning the squares that enabled this sac. Thank you as ever Antonio.
i like the fact that you dont dwell so much on what could have been bullshit and focus on the moves on the game. instant subscriber here
+rr279f thanks rr279f :)
@JediNxf7 Personally, I preferred this video because he didn't keep stopping to do analysis.
@JediNxf7 I don't get the point you are trying to make. I watched a video (above) and commented that I preferred on this occasion that the presenter did not keep stopping the flow of the game to digress with frequent analysis (a point which seemed to be shared by original comment maker 'rr279f'). Why are you referring to score sheets?
@JediNxf7 Okay, I see what you are saying. However, I don't seek out online score sheets or chess data base. I came here, watched a video of a game that was very satisfactory to me, and appreciated it all the more because (and this is where you seem to have a problem with me) it did NOT diverge into analysis that interrupted the flow of the actual game.
It may seem odd to you that I prefer this but there it is. I believe also that I am not alone in this preference. I can appreciate the game well enough without constant explanations of what other lines might have been played. For the record I can play blindfold chess and remember the moves of games I played without keeping notation for a couple of days and write them down after the game from memory. I am not sure if this helps me to appreciate a game of chess that is presented in video format or not, but what was served up here by 'agadmator' was absolutely fine by me.
I'm glad that you replied as I can now see what your perspective on the situation is.
Wow! I'm a novice but have seen hundreds of grandmaster games and have never seen a queen sacrifice like that.. Officially a Garry K. Fanboy now. Amazing
This video is cool and all but I still can't forgive you for trying to poison Daenerys.
yoooo wtf do you just look like him or did you really do a game of thrones cameo
After seeing the finale, I wish he had succeeded
GOT season 8 is suck btw
Made me laugh :)
He does look like that dude that tried to poison Dragonboobs!
I love your video! A great title for an interesting game-no clickbait or question marks at the end to make it dubious, just straight up quality! thank you and good job
Ur the best and most fun Chess analyst I've seen on RUclips.
I literally tweet all of your videos to my Timeline
+Bossman WilderMEZ Thanks Bossman :)
Gotta find u on Facebook as well. I literally have had my Recommended videos changed to the majority of your videos. RUclips probably read my mind, based on how often I been watching your videos.
I hail from 🇯🇲 🇯🇲 Btw. I'm not gonna miss a single video uploaded from here on
great analysis and great history knowledge! only thing i recommend is put the names of the players on either side so we know who's who. keep it up!
A very interesting game from Kaspoarov
A real tour de force from Kasparov. In this game he makes one of the all time greats look helpless. Just suffocates him.
Winning caption for the video - clicked immediately and loved it. The queen sac was crazy in the position! Incredible.
Garry: keep calm and defend.
Kramnik: KEEP WHAT??!!!!
0:20 "Gary Kasparov is black and is playing white against Vladamir Kramnik." --- huh?
enginekid88 aaa you know what I meant :)
xD why?
Rassist
ahahahhahaahh
Yes, one word, "against" would clarify. Oh well, it's still grammatically correct, just not optimal.
Excellent game. Also nice to see the improvement in both the sound quality and the presentation style over the years-well done Agadmator.
I love how you say "excited" in the most monotone voice imaginable
Omg, ur content has changed soo much! The confidence has really only gone up, making it wayyy better. Back then u were going really fast and u covered less lines. Regardless, ur content has allways been 🔥🔥 Keep going dude!
Something I noticed while watching the matches, is that I believe a player always wants to have forward momentum, even if that does mean sacrificing the queen as so clearly illustrated in this particular game.
Had it been any other than Kasparov, this would have been a brilliancy! Amazing play. Incredible and amazing!
Nice to have woman who goes to work so you can stay home and make chess videos.
Living the dream :)
zachary, yeah but making chess videos while fun is a job and it makes him a very nice income.
@@bonchidude A very nice income making very nice videos about very nice chess games. Nice life :D
iamthedave, Yes nice life indeed. He would do this for half the income because he loves what he does. I may even venture to say he would do it for free but not as much, but I think he would. He loves what he does.
hahaha
You are my favorite chess channel. Watching your videos has significantly improved my play
that was totally awesome ! ⚡
I can't remember the number of times where I've been in similar position where I believe that I am clearly winning because the other player "blundered" a major piece only to find myself in a situation where I have no good moves and I'm stuck simply reacting to the other player's moves.
Mikhail Tal > Quotes
“You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5, and the path leading out is only wide enough for one.” ...
“There are two types of sacrifices: correct ones, and mine.” ...
“To play for a draw, at any rate with white, is to some degree a crime against chess.”
If that sacrifice was planned to win the game, Kasparov is one of the immortals in chess for sure.
With or without this game Kasparov is one of the immortals in chess.
Lesson learnt " When Kasparov sacrifices his queen , you'd better resign immediately "
the confidence and his skills on casting is way way better now keep it coming!
What a beautiful game. That's probably the best positional sacrifice I've seen in a while
This channel is fascinating, and the dog has a definitive position im each video.
this is the only channel that I watch a lot. maybe u guys produce a great content. well done
No 1 fan, ,,,from the Philippines. ..love all your videos chess games
The dog seems not very interested in this match, already analyzed all moves. Calculated risk, great game.
Monster knights again (thinking about the octopus knight against Karpov)
Awesome game from "best ever"
This is absolutely beautiful play ...
Appreciating Agadmator's dedication. He is analyzing more games than the actual players 👏
Kramnik:"Just wanna know how I can possibly lose when up a queen." Garry:"You are welcome."
At 2:51 im pretty sure hes protecting the queen, rook fork. b3 pawn was already covered
Right i was thinking the same thing
Kasparov: Leaves queen unguarded
Opponents: Aaaah sh*t! Here we go again!
2:50 Bd1 not only protecting the b3 pawn but also the threat of Nc2 forking the queen and the rook
I think this is one of the best Queen sacrifices I have ever seen. I enjoyed the 2 last Queen sacrifices by Ratnakaran and Karthikeyan but Kasparov's game looks so much more "clean". I haven't checked this with a computer but just by the way that Kasparov's pieces looked after the Queen sac, I mean they are just beautiful. I think its curtain that 100 from now we will look at games like these since I believe that Queen sacrifices would become more frequent in the future.
Earned a sub. Showed up in the side bar. Glad I clicked.
Thank you, I'm glad you clicked as well. Welcome to the channel :)
agadmator's Chess Channel 5:52 pawn for quenn and it's mate, you didn't see it
Matias Afonso No its u who didnt see it. If he make that pawn move change to queen kramnik will just take that pawn. Since it is unprotected.
I saw one of your video's in the side bar as well. I'm a 46 year old beginner........I had only played chess a little bit here and there as a child in school then in a few video games but never enough to gain any skill. Even though you are mostly going over advanced players and technique's in your video's (the one's that I have seen, I need to examine your channel more) your explanations and analysis are so excellent that the game of Chess is making more sense to me, great channel and I sub'd also.
Too much dominance and space in the position. Even without a Queen Kasparov new what he was doing.
the first game of thrones episode was bit predictable and completely opposite to kasparov moves....
+Hrishikesh Deshpande I tgought the beginning of the episode was quite satisfying :D
True. Completely predictable season altogether.
Great game and great analysis, just the right amount of time for a patzer to take it in
It seems like your dog is check mated by sleep!
The dog would be more impressed by a *bone* sacrifice than a Queen sacrifice...
Impresionante talento puro el mejor de la historia x lejos Gary único
Gary Kasparov - always enjoy watching his games.
very smart and strategic.
Whenever he says "In this position..." My mind fills in "XXX resigned"
When he mentioned game of thrones, I kept thinking, "He looks an awful lot like Peter Dinklage."
No he looks like the guy who tried to poison khalesi
Wow what an incredible Queen sacrifice. Very doubtful Kramnik could have seen it coming. And it took so many moves to work, it seems like a fluke out of the blue, but played so masterfully Kasparov makes Kramnik practically beg to give his own queen back. Talk abut creating congestion. That's a Grandmaster (and World Champion) for you. Like the other poster said, balls of steel.
A great demonstration of psychology at play in chess.
Indeed. Live play has that element to it. I found you could psych your opponent out with unexpected (and good) moves. With the clock ticking they don't have time to figure everything out. I think Tal used this tactic to great advantage.
watching this in 2020 it's nice to see how you progressed at presenting those games
At 5:34
The best Move is Bg4 or (Bdg4) however your name it.
I would play that in 1st instant. Also Helps to prevent the Reh3 ideas ( a move played later)
I got a kasparov masterclass ad before the video lol
Nothing feels better than winning a game when you sac your queen and you've calculated it to an end and it actually works I'm only 800 elo so I've only done it twice because I'm normally to scared to give up a queen but still the feeling is amazing when it happens
Great game that I have never seen. Good job. My wife doesn't like GoT so she is going out of town for a few days and I will watch it. Winter is coming.
+Locutus D'Borg Winter is here :)
That’s Kasparov’s hall-mark - to give up the queen for dense positional advantage and then make good steps through it to make the ‘net’.....
The fact that a master sacrifices his Queen so early is enough to make me reevaluate what I thought I knew about this game. A lot to ponder.
Apparently he just fucked up and bluffed his way to the end of the game.
Him : Sacrifice his queen and won the match
me : "Ohh no,my queen has been killed" and continue to defeat
Watching your channel 3 years after that video I am so impressed how things improved:)) love your vids
Genius Kasparov!
How many of you watching this in 2021?
Hi sir, watching your videos since so many years,
You have improved really well,
Keep growing, and keep guiding us.
Have a nice day.
Sound Queen sacrifice on move 12! Kasparov really was the magician of preparation. How did these old engines found these moves, or it was human preparation? Komodo 11 agrees with Kasparov.
Love the channel. And the dog on the couch.
A couple of questions about this game aren't answered very well in the video.
The critical juncture is after move 14: ..Rfxd8. At this point black has gotten a pawn, a bishop, and a knight for the queen.
So question #1: Was this really a queen _sacrifice_ or an equitable trade.
Kramnik responds with 15:Rc1, which we can all agree is a blunder. But just attributing it to nerves brought on by the unexpected sacrifice does nothing to demonstrate that it is a blunder.
So question #2: What move did Kramnik have that was demonstrably better? And bonus question #2a: Does that move (or any subsequent sequence of moves) put Kramnik in a demonstrably better position than Kasparov?
It seems to me intuitively that Kasparov is ahead before Kramnik's blunder, but I'm not a good enough player to prove it to myself. Kramnik's position is paralyzed by the presence of the two infiltrating knights. Kasparov has the initiative and control of the centre of the board.
So come on guys, what *should* Kramnik's move #15 have been, and would it have turned the game around for him?
Very indepth analysis. Thank you!
Very educational. Thanks!
I just love the fact that there is a dog just sleeping on the couch
He did that before in a WCh match against Karpov. Shockking! Karpov could hold it and it was a draw
I have watched a few of your videos and enjoy them. I am subscribing now. Thank you.
+Working Class Hero Glax to hear it mr. Hero :)
...enjoyable to you. I like the karpov and carlsen kramnik style.
I would gladly trade my one Queen for my opponent's Bishop, Knight, and Pawn. All day I would make that trade.
Bobby: kramnik played week. If Kasparov would have sacrificed in front of me than he would have plead for forgiveness.
wow, kasparov really saw and had faith in the position after giving up his queen. The question is, could Kramnik have countered better?
Imagine how good this would look in 60fps
some people make me feel like I don't even know the game. More now that I'm looking. I love zero-sum competition. Kasparov is Khabib.
For Kasparov to play like that are needed two conditions:1. To have the expertise - which he certainly has; 2. The opponent to "allow" you to execute the plan. The second counts also for every sport.
Coach I can remember the game of Kasparov and Kavalek it is the same position Kasparov sacrifices queen and wins! I will read Kasparov best games!
Kasparov had Mikhail Tals blessing.
You should start a mini-series of videos all of which are Queen sacrifices: those that worked AND those that did NOT work!!
Once I sacrificed my queen and ended up with 2 rooks + 1 bishop and 2 knights vs a Queen and a rooK. I blundered everything and still managed to draw the game LOL
He sacrificed his rook and bishop also.... insane game by casparov
2:56 the pawn was protected, he's protecting c2
Another example why Kasparov was the best. Maybe the goat
Omg that episode was amazing Dude be careful the internet is dark and full of spoilers
Absolutely brilliant by Garry there. 👍
