The 12-team FIDE World Team Championship starts with the teams split into two groups, with the Top 4 teams after a round-robin qualifying for the quarterfinals. Matches are played over four boards, with 2 match points for a win and 1 for a draw.
The games are rapid, with 45 minutes for the entire game, plus a 10-second increment starting from move one. In the knockout stages two rapid matches are played. If the teams are still tied, they switch to 3+2 blitz and keep playing matches until we have a winner. Official website: worldteams.fide.com

Throwing a brilliant game is surely a knightmare for Ivanchuk.
he threw a game against anand, like literally missed around 4 mate in 1s
He's been doing this since 1990s. Thug life ivanchuk
ivanchuk be like :that's one good move i played there..that's enough, time to go sleep faster
@@monomushi for people who aren't chess pro's, i think playing incredible moves makes up for ultimately throwing a game like at least you did something.
@Keith Alfred Anthony Donovan I know but I thought it was like metaphorical? You metaphorically throw in the sense that you lose so bad that it's AS IF you literally threw? Or throwing can be used only literally?
i'm a simple guy, I see Ivanchuk I click
+1
what does your sentence accomplish ?
@@ImprovePath your attention probably
Yeah bro.. his games are always a pleasure to watch
@@ImprovePath what about yours?
losing after making one of the most brilliant moves in this year makes me feel a little bit sad tbh
Ikr
50+ years old and still almost 2700....the man is a legend,,,,has been my favourite player since 1991.
How old are you?
Damn really wanted ivanchuk to win, spectacular game regardless
So sorry, Ivanchuk lost. He is a great chess champion.I respect him so much.
Nd7 is simply one of the greatest moves I've ever seen
putting a knight on a square attacked by 5 pieces is brilliant
Absolutely stunning.
Why black bishop don’t take white bishop 7:07 I don’t understand 😐
@@ramiroyoutubechannel the rooks being separated means Rxc7 and pressures c8 if Bxc1 then Rc8 and queen is stuck because if Qxc8 it gets hit with Nxf6+ with a discover attack on the queen on c8
@@ramiroyoutubechannel if 1... Bxa3, then 2. Rxc7...Bxc1 3.Rxe7 and white is up the exchange
Incredibly relatable to lose a winning endgame after outplaying your opponent for the rest of the game. All of us have definitely felt this pain.
Whenever I see Ivanchuk play, I can not help but cheer for him!
Ivanchuk always has such beautiful style and his games are amazing.
One thing that is pretty much agreed or at least at one time was that when Chucky is in top form he is unstoppable. Sadly he can be erratic, but some of his good games are just astonishing.
I always find myself rooting for Ivanchuk
Nice qoute:
"That's chess for you. We love it for that and we hate it for that. We love it when it doesn't happen to us, but we love it when it happens to our opponents!"
Well said, sir 👍
I'm literally at work waiting for you to post a video Agad. Your videos are what keep me going. Huge love and respect for the amazing content.
I could watch Ivanchuks games all the time! But for now, congratulations to Jorden for his resistance and turning the game to his favor. Winning against such an incredible opponent must be a unique feeling.
This endgame reminded me of the notorious 17th match game between Korchnoi and Karpov from 1978, where Korchnoi was a pawn up going into the endgame, but Karpov's knights plus Korchnoi's time trouble turned a winning endgame for Korchnoi to a checkmate for Karpov. In both this game and the Karpov game, black defended very strongly to turn the tables.
Agadmator you are goated chess youtuber
I’ve been watching this channel for a few years now.
That knight sacrifice is THE most beautiful and outrageous move I’ve ever seen.
One of the best games I have ever followed. Thank you so much!
oh boy, this would have been like the tenth Ivanchuk immortal if it worked out. such an entertaining player
One of the sickest moves I've ever seen! Thanks!
Ne4 - my first successful pause the video moment! I don't expect to find any more. I'll just enjoy the show. Thanks Agad!
hi, awesome content :) novice at chess and learning everyday.... a question: 7:25 why cant Jorden take bishop on a3 with bish from d6 instead of moving the Q ?
Bishop A3, Rook c7
Bishop C1, Rook c8
Queen C8, Bishop c8 😬
@@yashsahu3525 Ahaaa i see... didnt see that the white bishop on h3 was garding the c8 and automatic pin on qeen... nice... i appreciate you thank you!! awesome !!
Rook will die
Losing after such a brilliancy really hurts, kudos to Jorden for fighting tho
Wow, great game by Jorden here! Awesome stuff! Thanks.
what a beautiful game. wow! I love your videos agadmator
9:48 and it was in this position that we have knight to e1 check, not knight to Ivanchuk
It's such a dumb pun 🤣🤣
you are an excellent subcriber for knowing that pun
Fantastic video as always. Thanks.
I found both moves! :) Thank you for the video :)
Beautiful game.
And good analysis as always.
Vasyl played with monsters as his pieces... and wrecked havoc on board...but black's grit just was fascinating..what a game by these two..!
The so called 'Hans Niemann' rating.... EPIC
Vasyl plays like he has Magnus and I on his shoulders whispering suggestions to him. STOP LISTENING TO ME CHUCK!
one thing to learn never surrender
Playing at the highest level at the age of 53, Ivanchuk is amazing.
The only thing greater than the joy of seeing Ivanchuk's genius is the pain of watching him blundering the game.
Ivanchuk is 3 time fide world championship winner.🏆
7:06 Can anybody explain to me how hanging the bishop on A3 isn't a blunder, punished with an immediate capture with an attack on the Rook?
Rook c7,c8 will pin the queen and rook will still be guarded by bishop at h3😃
It will be rook and bishop for queen + pawn at A6
Are you a STUPID beginner who just takes pieces and then looses the queen or gets mated?
This game just made me sad. How a completely winning game turned to a devastating L just because Ivanchuk has started to lose it because of age.
Yes. His brain ran out of juice. We must be sure to remember his genius. His immortal v Kasparov is thankfully timeless. Love you Vasil.
Yep, that is pure age when you start missing simple things
Knights are really tricky monsters
Adgamator..... English is my second language as well......your English is beautiful!!!!!... I don't need CC. My contribution: Americans often get confused between "complicated" and "complex".... what you really wanted to say approximately at 4.55 or less is COMPLEX ..not complicated. In order to use COMPLICATED you must use IT GETS COMPLICATED, not IT'S COMPLICATED. See the difference? I think you do. I am so happy you have this channel. I thank God you are here!! It gives me so much education and entertainment from a game I love so much!!!! Thank you, Antonio...you have taught me so much .......you are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At 7:05, why is the bishop not able to be captured on a3
It seems to me like that bishop just hangs there
Because the two black rooks would be hanging maybe?
Genius gameplay from both sides
Im a simple human, i see ivanchuks name in video I click within split seconds
Reminds me of the Karpov move in Karpov -- Korchnoi. The really famous one, with Korchnoi venturing the Dragon.
feels like christmas when he says pause the video and guess the tricky move and i get it right
Chucky is my favourite player by far! That win in Linares in 1991 with an all star line up, crushing Kasparov in his prime and even years later smashing Carlsen in his prime. Living legend and will always be my favourite player. Greatest player to never become World Champion
Incredible game so much twist and turn..
Highlighted arrow lines of attack are lighthouse beams of illumination in the darkness of the fog and forest of chess.
And a reminder to look when playing.
A handy tool/app for learning the game.
What a brilliant game of resillience by Jorden.
It is almost as if I have a good end to the day, as I am getting Agad's match analysis every day, literally 🙂🙏🙏
Such a beautiful game
Ivanchuk committed multiple blunders.
15:30 It sounds so weird when someone says that instead of saying "Not once, not twice, but thrice".
Way to fight back Jorden!! Like this is freaking amazing!
It would have been an incredible stuff had Vasily won that game.Great intuition and great defensive work.
I hope you can seperate more between religions and mankind certain behaviours in your titles.
However i have always been supportive to your content since 2017.
Keep up my dude 👍
I think I could look at that position every day for a year and not find this knight move.
This is why Chess has been such a popular game all these years.
Love it!
absolutely brilliant game, fought by both sides.
2 videos in a row with throwing in team chess championship!?!?!??!?!?!?!
What a sad loss! Saddest game in a very long time.
That was sick!! 😮😮
"The so called Hans Niemann rating"
Sees Chucky.
Clicks.
5:16 "Rooks here are monsters, Bishops even greater monsters" lol
what a god tier move followed by devil tier blunders... still a gift to the chess gods. Chucky da 🐐
Beautiful move
Left insufficient mental resources after calculating all those knight jump possibilities.
wow, Vasyl's knight was under 25 points worth of attack. I realize that's an insane way to talk/think about it but it's an insanely beautiful move
8:46 26.Nd7 Rexd7 27.Bxd6 is a interference, far rarer than a Novotný interference. (Wow, a live Plachutta captured OTB in the wild!) A Plachutta requires two line-movers of the same type, and two sacs to lure + deflect one of them. Here, the two lines of defense are (1) Qd8 protects Bd6, and (2) Re7 protects Rc7, while also Rc7 is pinned to White's Rc8 threat. White surely calculated that 27..Rxc2 29.Rc8 pins his Q, but accepted this line as the least-costly solution: Q(+RB) for RN(+RB), almost equal and worth fighting out.
26..Rcxd7 27.Bxd6 is worse, down at least an exchange whether the Rd7 moves or stays.
Awesome game !
PERFEKT.
"What is the rook doing there?"
-Antonio Radic.
please show more if this genius games
I've heard the saying "Knights are tricky bastards". How true it is.
11:22
Ne1+ (Night to ivanchuk!) 😀
#Legendary
Jordan won the game. Vasil won our hearts
I misread ‘vasyl’ as ‘vessel’ 😂
Idk how Ivanchuk plays so well and simultaneously so horribly so often.
Thank you Chucky. Now I won’t feel so bad when I blow winning positions.
What a game! First time I didn’t even check what Medo thought of the game. Have to rewatch to see if the greatest canine mind in the chess world was even present for this one! (Edit: scandalous! Smelling the roses!)
Wicked monster move
I think Father Time played a huge role in this encounter
Amazing game. Kept me inspired multiple days already. Anyone also had the idea of ignoring the knight on d7 and simply the immediate Bxa3? Tried playing this line at home on the board and it looks like it gives black advantage. Cant't wait to hear your thoughts.
@jonas van der zande After Bxa3, Rxc7, Rxd7, Bxd7, either Kxd7, Rc8 and you win the queen. Ur left with a rook and a Queen vs 2 horseys and a bishop if I’m not mistaken. Calculated the line in my head so could be wrong!!
Title= Ivanchuk’s Ivanchuk move.
That's a crushing defeat
Can you cover some of the best Caro-Kann games? I don't see this opening anymore in professional chess, so if you can upload some amazing Caro-Kann games where black wins, I would appreciate it.
1:35 excellent voicecrack :)
This complexity and depth reminds me that my aspirations in chess must be tailored to anonymity.
What an insane move
Chucky the real chess world champion (LEGEND)
What a game!
what a thriller
That is "The Fack you" move, maladec vasil!
Prvo lajk pa onda pogledam video :)
Ivanchuk’s amazing creativity lives, but chess is a test of sustained concentration, which degrades with years.
if it's ivanchuk involved then it's a banger, period
Many time in chess it happens that when your opponent blunder the queen, he or she starts playing fearlessly and you play over carefully which ends in you loosing the game.
Jordan is the archetype of modern chess champions. He is underrated.
why cudnt the bishop on a3 be taken before the knight jumped to d7?
4:40 yes they definitely both saw that engine line lol.
I mean, players with such high ELO are kind of engines themselves, right?
WOW! What a game!
