    Ford designed the maverick to sell in the mid 20’s. A few years later they slap on a tremor sticker and boom 40 thousand dollars please. Crazy overpriced for what you get.

      @plmn93 3 месяца назад +1

      Same thing with mid and full size trucks. You can spend $100K on a half ton truck, but 85% of it is still a $40K truck.

    • @ThomasVMan

      I think you can get an XLT Tremor for around $32K with a few options.

    Liked the way you summarized the comparison at the end.👍👍 We purchased the Maverick Hybrid for the fuel economy and because of its occasional ability for light duty hauling in the bed. The Ranger on the other hand is looking more and more like a “value” replacement for my Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi as far as Towing & overall go anywhere utility.

    Got Maverick yesterday, Ranger is too 'construction crew' like. Maverick is great for average guys who want functionality of a truck without having a BULKY truck.

  • @Jameshhl

    Maverick is perfect for my need, I personally don't need it to tow or haul heavy stuff, only need to haul my multiple mountain bikes to the riding trailhead. Easily hosed down the truck bed from dirty/muddy bikes, can't do that with a SUV. Lastly Maverick being a compact truck also make it easier to maneuver in the city and tight parking lots.

  • @plmn93

    The Maverick is what people expect in a car based truck. Relatively inexpensive and great economy while still offering a lot of utility. That's why it's been so successful while the Ridgeline has been a perpetual sales disappointment for Honda.

    If you need to tow, you have to get the Ranger. If you don’t and want a nicer ride, go with Maverick. Only Lariat gets push button on both Ranger and Maverick. Maverick Tremor tested only tows 2k lbs.

  • @taxman1000
    @taxman1000 День назад

    Maverick is around $9k less similarly equipped. However, AWD is $2,220 on the Maverick XLT, and the FWD version can handle snow easier than the RWD version of the Ranger. I still drive my RWD Grand Marquis in snow, so RWD would not be a deal breaker for me, but it is for most people.

    Great video. One difference I was surprised by, is how much easier it is to see out the rear window in the Ranger. I assumed it would be the opposite given the size difference.

    At $40K I'm getting the Ranger. That's way too much for a Maverick, no matter the options.
    For around $10K less you can get a well equipped XLT Maverick which would be a much more sensible choice if you want a Maverick.

    • @plmn93
      @plmn93 3 месяца назад +1

      Can say the same thing about Ranger vs F-150 when you start adding options. Especially right now with $9000+ in incentives and low interest financing available on the F-150 here in the Midwest.

    • @hellodrjeckyl
      @hellodrjeckyl 3 месяца назад +1

      @plmn93 Definitely a great deal right now. If you can get an F150 in the with the specs you want near Ranger prices, it makes sense to go big.
      I saw a nicely equipped Silverado 1500 LT with a window sticker of almost $52K, with dealer incentives now drop to $43K. You could probably haggle another couple thousand off too. If I was in the market for a truck at the moment, I'd have seriously considered it. But right now, I'm car payment free and plan to stay that way for at least another 3 to 5 years.

  • @ThomasVMan
    @ThomasVMan 3 месяца назад +4

    The interior pretty different but so is this price as far xlt to xlt comparison . The fresh maverick will bring it up to date with tech with the rest of ford pick line . It’s really going depend on your life style but the maverick hybrid is probably best value for dollar with fuel economy involved 😊. I’d take Ranger over tremor maverick.

    Thumbs down on the video. It's not a fair comparison. Obviously the one doing the video is biased. Or not having correct knowledge of both trucks, or giving it. One of the comments brings out that the Maverick has more room and the reply was it feels like it, come on. Also payloads are higher on the other Maverick's without the tremor package which off sets what the video was trying to not disclose. Also which was mentioned the incorrect towing the tremer package is limited to 2000lbs they dont offer the 4k in the tremor package. The video was biased and off the mark on a true truck to truck comparison. Also top end trim with the most expensive options and trim level on the Maverick and comparing prices to a less trim and less options on the Ranger, when using a price of both as a comparison. The video is misinformation definitely misleading.

    So I just bought the 2004 explorer sport Trac , and I also own a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.
    It's a similar comparison actually.
    I like them both...
    The four-wheel independent suspension has a better ride but it's not about impact really it's about vibration....
    The four wheel independent suspension has far less Minor road vibration compared to front independent suspension with rear solid axle.
    They both ride on overall, just that subtle difference.
    The four wheel independent suspension holds the road WAY WAY better in hard cornering.
    So I'm going to say that if you drive sporty, get the maverick, otherwise, get the ranger.
    The four wheel independent suspension on my Cherokee Trailhawk is WAY more stable on the interstate compared to the sport Trac.
    Again, I think the comparisons will be similar.
    To me , the maverick is the new sport Trac. Although the sport Trac , especially 2004 is far more truck - ish , by 2007 , it wasn't so much.
