      @@CarsWithSteve Easy to park and get around. Pretty much feels like I'm driving the Escape. Just got it Friday and it's been pretty cold here which affects the battery. With some other things I've had to do, I've only had time to put 125 miles on it. Wife's in a wheel chair right now and the weather has been a little wet, so I have to use the car those days to keep her chair dry till the Ford Hard Fold, also known as the BAKFlip G2, ordered with my dealer comes in and I get it on.

      @@CarsWithSteve Nope, starts instantly. Living up north, I love that battery saver feature both vehicles have. Just the hybrid feature doesn't kick in until it gets up to running temp, which obviously takes longer than in summer. I liked the smoother look of the roll up cover over the fold but we have lots of trees, live in the woods, and I was afraid that the way the cover is held when unrolled, see BAK X2, might get somewhat gunked up with tree debris and need cleaning maintenance. I could always stick a little piece of coarse screen over the drain tube hole to filter any gunk on the fold one.

Mountain hwy Oregon , grants pass to crescent city . Plenty of power ! Never floored it , goes thru gears flawlessly, quite and smooth , almost to smooth for a Truck . I think Ford thought this one out , they did a very good job . I downsized from A 150 2018 Silverado , my needs changed , this is a great midsized pu ! Great video! Really want a midsize pickup and I’ve been looking at the maverick, Tacoma, and the ranger.
    I love the infotainment screen on the ranger but not the price of the ranger. This truck seems like the bang for your buck one but they’re also hard to get. Really interested in what the prices of the 2024 tacomas will be with their new engines as well as the MPG.

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! Tough choice between the 3 or them. I’m hoping to get into a Tacoma before the end of the year but that would be a good compare to do. Harder to get the hybrid compared to the 2.0L but you might have to wait 6 plus months for delivery

    • @Mando98
      @Mando98 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@CarsWithSteve the Tacoma was always my dream truck because I’ve never been a fan of big trucks (I also don’t tow heavy loads nor work in construction) so I’m leaning towards one. I also love all the aftermarket mods that people add to theirs.
      If mavericks were readily available, I’d go test drive them since I do love the MPG on the hybrid but I also do want an AWD so that’s where I’m stuck on making a decision between the two. The ranger practically costs the same as a Tacoma (even more if it’s a raptor) so if I’m paying that much, I’d probably just go for Toyotas reliability. Either way, I’m not buying anything until about a year from now in hopes that car prices kind of come down a little but I’ve started my research early and this is harder than I thought it’d be 😂
      I think that the maverick seems like a truck that meets my needs more than a Tacoma but I will probably go for a Lariat one since I want the B&O sound system and I do want the “leather” seats. If you get the Tacoma, I’ll be looking forward to the video man!

      I have a few friends that have smaller trucks for the same reason. They like trucks but don't need something huge. It's crazy that Mavericks are still so hard to find. I get that they aren't as profitable for Ford but if they poured more money into creating a lower priced truck/car they'd probably have a home run
      I've noticed manufacturers bringing back delivery allowances to try and offset higher interest rates so it's only a matter of time before it'll probably make sense

      @CarsWithSteve  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks Paul! You unfortunately can't get cloth seats in the Lariat, so it would have to be the XLT. The black pleather would definitely make you sweat a bit more compared to Desert Brown. I think the seat colors across the board work well with the Terrain exterior. When you're on the build and price, if you move to the side profile interior shot you can see the door jam color on the bottom left of the screen..
      There are a few different options though.. If you really like the extra features of the Lariat you can try to hunt down some seats from a wrecked XL/XLT and do a seat swap. Or stick with the desert brown interior of the Lariat and then hydro dip the wheels black, and wrap some of the other parts that would come with the black appearance package

      Technically not a factory option so if you really like the blackout package and you want those seats your best bet is to build it with every other feature you want and then:
      - hydro-dip the wheels ($500 - $900 depending on the design and shop)
      - matte black spray the grille ($30 Home Depot)
      - wrap the mirrors and interior accents ($500 - $1,000 depending on DIY vs shop)
      It'll probably cost you about $500 more but it's cheaper than changing the seat color using Katzkin aftermarket
