    Back seat bottom cushion pops up to reveal more interior storage bins. 12v battery is in this location on hybrid, so less storage with that engine.

    Being partial to the Maverick, I would say the Lariat is the better value. This is what I have, a Lariat with the luxury package, FCP360 package and the 2.0L Ecoboost with AWD. It drives incredibly well and looks the part. Not everyone is a fan of the two-tone interior or the significant price jump but to top out at just $35,000 with a reputable dealer, it is a wonderful value. As for the two-tone, to me that gives it its unique charm and adds that bit of luxury ambiance. At $35,000, it's fully loaded whereas that would equate to only a mid-trim mid-size truck or a base full-size truck. Also, having the comfort of a sedan/crossover with the added benefit of having a pickup bed, how can you go wrong? Hopefully this is the start of many more to come. And if not, I hope Ford continues to sell and improve it over time.

      That's how I feel. I first ordered a XLT that's coming soon (hopefully? ). And I thought that for the price point I should opt for the top of the line. I couldn't change my present order so I also ordered a loaded '23 Lariat. No idea when it will come but I'll have my XLT so no pressure.

    Just a fyi the lariat does actually come with the hybrid standard the only reason the one in the video has the 2.0L is because it has the 4K tow package if it didn’t have that package it would be standard a hybrid unless you got a fx4 package as well it would require the 2.0L

    With dual climate control, you lose the rotary fan speed knob. Instead, you get those slower and less convenient to find fan-speed up and down buttons, that require you to take your eyes off the road. Not a good trade for me. A deal-changer in my case, I can stick to the XLT. Also, too much stuff on the Lariat I don't need, and really too much extra MSRP for what you get, makes my decision easier. Especially find the mandatory AWD unnecessary and over-priced. It penalizes fuel economy, and it doesn't snow enough to need it. I've had a 2wd F--250 for 26 years, don't need AWD. Thank you for the comparison. I will look for something to dress up the XLT grille.

      We should have specified but here in Canada, for the 2022 model, the lariat is only offered as the 2.0L AWD. The US offers Lariat hybrid. But for 2023 Ford now allows the Lariat with the hybrid engine in Canada.

      You can get the black appearance package for 2023 which gives you black seats in XLT and Lariat.

      Agreed. The interior color combos that they force you to accept plus those bizarre door panels are likely deal killers for me.

      @@RMB42 The door panels are fantastically useful. Have fun paying $10-$30K more for a truck because of them.

    I'm considering a new vehicle, possibly a Maverick, and I'm doing some basic research. I haven't been able to see a Maverick in person yet, none of the dealers around here have any on the lot, but if all of them have interiors that look like these two examples with no way around it I think I'm going to pass on Maverick. What's with the ugly orange and blue interior trim? The interior color combos look horrible on both vehicles, even worse when combined with the exterior colors. They don't match or compliment each other at all. Also, the door panels are goofy, especially the arm rests. They look only half done, like there are some pieces missing.
    Throw in the off center rear license plate that looks like an afterthought, the lack of a split in the rear seat bottom for the under seat storage access (huge oversight IMO), and the name itself (Courier or even Ranchero would have been a better choice from the list of former Ford vehicle names), and the list of awkward things that would have to be ignored and lived with may be a bit too long to justify the long wait time and 2023 price increases.

      Ford has released a "Black-Out Package" for the 2023 Mavericks but for 2023 so that option is there. The XL model is the most monotone in that sense, but may be too base model for some. Lariat would be the next choice, then XLT. Although the orange/blue combo may seem weird and maybe ugly for some, it does fit the characteristic and style of the Maverick quite well and isn't as eye-catching as you may think. Also there is rear under-seat storage on the Maverick's. A quite large space actually, just not shown in the video but there is a pull strap that is used to flip the bottoms up to access it.

    • @MacPhee_Ford
      @MacPhee_Ford  Год назад

      Our markup is a whopping $0. We don't mark up any new vehicles whether ordered for a customer or if it's on the lot. Unfortunately there are dealers who ruin the reputation of others by scalping the prices up.
