😊 Hey guys! We created the Chase Car channel to give viewers a broad overview of the upcoming new cars from the top car manufacturers. We are huge fans of pickup trucks of all sizes: compact, mid-size and full-size trucks. So mostly, we will cover new upcoming trucks, but besides that, here you can find a lot of content about new sedans and SUVs too.
The Electric Vehicle wave sooner or later will become huge, so this type of content might appear on this channel from time to time. But as we are still on the way to becoming fully electrical, we mostly cover fossil cars from many amazing brands.

I agree with many of these points, particularly the part on quality. I've had two Mavericks, a first model year 2022 Lariat and currently a 2024 Lariat FX4. The difference between the two is actually pretty significant despite no change in overall design. It's the little things they've improved on. Things such as the sun visors, center console lid and gear shifter all feel notchier and have more heft than the first one. Also, the foam pads in the front door jambs to mute out engine noise that were missing entirely on the first one. The doors feel heavier. The leather wrapped steering wheel is made of a silky smooth and better feeling material than the first which was more textured. Speaking of the steering wheel, my first one had a creaking noise when making right turns which always bothered me. It did that since new. I never took it to the dealer since it wasn't worth diagnosing and didn't cause a driveability issue. Plus they would've told me they don't hear anything or it's normal. Doesn't exist on the new one.
Being the third model year there shouldn't be any recalls which plagued my first one. It had defective roof moldings that were replaced, the inevitable airbag recall, and just before trading in it got the faulty brake light recall that doesn't notify in the gauge cluster if one of the rear lights is burnt out. It was a great truck overall but it wouldn't be without some drama along the way. I hope my '24 will be a lot more trouble free. I will say even though the new ones have improved, there is one area that I'm disappointed with. The upper dash speaker grille and sunglasses holder have warped panel gaps that didn't exist on the first one. It should be a clean, consistent line but they both have a very inconsistent one that's easily noticeable and affects newer builds. I was just at my dealership looking at other Mavericks and Bronco Sports to see if they have it as well and sure enough, they do. Not all of them though, just here and there. That I'm not too happy with but I still don't regret getting a '24. Everything else about it is far superior than the first.

I have a 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid. It's an excellent vehicle! Shifts between the ICE and Hybrid system seamlessly and I routinely average 45-55mpg for my localish trips. The roundtrip to my vet is about 44 miles and mostly highway miles (55mph). I usually average around 45mpg for the trip routinely running on battery power for about 8-9 miles of the trip. AWD with the Hybrid would have been nice but I've never had AWD in my other vehicles so I can live a few more years without it. It's not the truck for everyone, but this is seriously the first Truck that could be considered a good commuter vehicle.

There are a couple holes in this video. The airbag recall wasn't because of malfunctioning airbags, the response time requirements for airbags updated and the brand of airbags Ford was installing fell under that threshold. Also early on in the video he mentions the hybrid version of the Maverick having lower tow and payload capacity, but the hybrid model has the same payload capacity as the EcoBoost. I'm not really sure why Chase mentions the non-hybrid engine being the base model as a positive either. One of the reasons for the supply issues in the 2021 and 2022 models had to do with considerably more people wanting the hybrid versions of the Maverick than Ford had anticipated.
Anyways, I got a 2021 hybrid model, and I absolutely love it! I'm keeping my fingers crossed Ford doesn't completely screw up the Maverick as it makes changes. A plug in hybrid with AWD would be an absolute game changer!

    • @kidfantastic93
      @kidfantastic93 3 месяца назад

@@BigKWS Depends on the type of driving you do. In my case I'm mostly in city, so I'm sitting at about 42-43 MPG most of the year. It does dip quite a bit in the winter time if you live in a colder area. If the temp is below like 10 or 15 Fahrenheit, then the electric motor won't kick on unless the car has been running for a good hour or so. So in the wintertime my MPGs dip to about 36-38 MPG.

Haven't gotten into the video but that hybrid point is dead on. I was going to shoot for the 2022 becaus a small hybrid pickup sounded amazing. Sold out and wasn't the best financial move and was extremely miffed to see them change the later years to have the hybrid be the EXTRA charge and not the default. They were supposed to have AWD hybrid on the 2023 (at least rumoured) so its also odd that never came to fruition.

TREMOR XLT in bound !! SAY WHAT?!?!?!?! I called and found that truck had yet to be spoken for SO I put a deposit

I own a 2006 Expedition. I have already replaced the transmission. The paint is peeling. The interior is showing age. I've had an engine light for an O2 sensor for ten years that costs a small fortune to fix, but not really a mandatory fix so didn’t sink more money into it. Also the running board rusted away and had to be replaced 5 years ago.

Bluntly, people want the hybrid, as demand was twice what Ford expected.
Making the hybrid a pay for upgrade reflects that demand, giving the Mav with the standard non hybrid motor is a DOWNGRADE, not an improvement.
This video is wrong, as well as claiming dealer markups are going to end, by no means are these sitting on lots, I have yet to find any dealer in Western PA that has one.
Also, the hybrid has jumped in cost immensely, I hesitated to order one in 22, my 23 order is now 16 months long.
My truck, a 24 would have cost me 26K if it isn't for a 2k rebate I'm supposed to get upon purchase.
As for towing capacity, who cares?
Most hybrid buyers want one thing, and that's the 40 to 50 mpg results people are seeing in the real world.
Anyone serious about towing isn't buying the smallest truck in the lineup, they are using F150s or bigger.
Further, the Mav is going to hurt Ranger sales, because most folks are using both for daily drivers, and not as work trucks.
Also, this truck is still larger than both the 80s and 90s S10 or Ranger, which I also owned.
Mine is replacing my 2500HD, and daily driver, a KIA Soul, my fuel costs should be cut by more than half, as the 2500 gets 10mpg, and the Soul 25mpg.

A base model, at the right price, and kept for a long time, can be a smart way to purchase a depreciating asset, if it's reliable and it's depreciation is low.
For some, an older vehicle, that might soon need major repairs, and down time, is not an option.
Small businesses keep new vehicles for set mileages, to prevent major repairs.

@@dukewydercorporation7216 Ignore him. I have a 2022 Maverick EB-FWD that was purchased without so much as a test drive. It has been a STEALLAR vehicle for being an unknown factor. No regrets here. Getting better MPG than advertised here: 27-28mpg city/30-33 highway, and without the 4k tow package can still pull comfortably and get 18mpg. Suck it, Tacoma!
