I'm about 5 minutes in and REALLY enjoying this video. It's a nice change of pace; I always love seeing some iRacing sprinkled in between your other content.
23:09 It's the same in real life racing. Pressure is just part of the fun. Some drivers you meet while you're an amateur don't handle pressure well, but they never amount to much either.
Yeah man but it works only if you dont change the car your drive. It's way better to just learn the exact amount of braking for each car you drive. Sometimes you can easly go for 100% or just 50% if not less. Also depends on the weather temps etc.
@@retardedpepega8831 It heavily depends on your current situation. You can apply more brake force at high speeds in a car with downforce. If your braking zone is in a ditch, you can push the brakes way harder, while you will almost lock instantly when you have to brake as you're cresting a hill. Also bank angle and a drawn-out corner entry after a high-speed section promote one-sided lockup. So T1 at Sao Paulo combines pretty much all of these factors, especially if you've got the inside line in a fight.
IDK if Steve has the brake kit in his Clubsport V3 Pedals but with mine all I did was press "emergency braking" hard during calibration, I've found that this leads to normal "hard braking" being right on the limit in just about everything. Still have to press a bit harder in aero cars vs, say, the MX5 of course, but just about the only way to seriously lock up is if I'm already in 'oh shit' mode.
This was awesome! Can you play iracing more often??? I loved the combo of memes and excitement and serious hardcore racing, that move in Brian in the second race was incredible!

If you want to run the longer series’ without worrying about setup, take a look into the Pure Driving School setups. Tons of the fastest drivers use their setups week in and out and dominate.
The thing with iRacing is either the racing is really good and tight and there’s some epic battles or your just cruising to the finish line with no one in sight..
Running in a fixed setup series doesn't necessarily put everyone on equal footing, each of us has their own driving style some setup might fit one driver better than the other this puts the drivers that like the fixed setup of a particular track/car to an advantage. in iRacing you can be fast with literally any setup, I've done lap records with both loose and tight setups and sometimes even running with higher wing settings on a track like le mans. The most important thing is to drive with a setup that fits your driving style, that's how you will be able to extract the most from the car and get faster, racing with fixed setup only limits your driving.
Cockpit cam feels really claustrophobic compared to your usual bonnet cam. IRacing really seems like a game where you need a massive wide screen or 3 screen setup.
Honestly it seems like the FoV is just really wide here. It all depends on where you are seated and how big the monitor is. After seeing his setup this may work, but perhaps a more narrow view would benifit him a bit more.
@@Super_GT yeah it feel awkward after coming from heavy console stuff for so long. But if you get used to it, you get a better sense of car boundries from just natural feel. I get it though. Fully utterly.

R1: so what you are saying is that the spin was actually deliberate in order to swag into 6th... R2: wtf i thought this game was supposed to encourage clean racing... R3: finally some nice driving
Right. I thought Super GT's front touched the middle of the other car, but nope, the contact was in the rear. Lucky how that ended up with no one spinning.
@@hubertkam7647 Not very consistently. Or if there is it's around somewhere boring as hell like Monza. And when it happens there's usually a crash at the first corner
There is a RUclips video out there done by one of your fellow sim racers that tells you how to edit a few files in iracing that will allow you to mash the brakes as hard as you'd like and it'll have a maximum input of 70%. Might wanna check it out.
Try being a little gentler with your initial brake input, especially in this series where you're on fixed setup and can't change bias or pad friction. I rarely use more than 60-70% brake input in any car on iRacing, even with ABS. You can really only go as hard as you're going with low friction pads and a high degree of ABS assistance. The race isn't long enough for the extra tire wear from locking up to matter, but you're going in really hard, and then backing off to 50% to unlock the front wheels and it's unsettling the car. I think you'd be smoother and faster if you just went a little easier.
I think something some people need to be aware of with iRacing penalties (as they seem to think its harsher than GT sport when it isn't really): They aren't really "penalties" so much, you don't get forced to slow down unless you cut a corner severely so if you hit someone or go slightly off track your only penalty is car damage or the time you naturally lose from going offroad and you possibly end up losing some safety rating. But then losing safety racing in one race isn't an issue; it only becomes an issue if you get incident points consistently. Also both cars get the incident points in contact situations no matter who's fault it was so, if you are clean and its another guy being dirty you might get 1 contact in a race and nothing happens. The guy driving dirty also got that contact 4x and since they are dirty driving they'll likely get more incident points from going off track or hitting others which means dirty drivers always lose safety rating more quickly and more often than clean drivers and clean drivers very rarely get disqualified from a race whereas the dirty drivers get booted often.
Anybody else think that the guy in P2, “Michael Kok”, is just a more formal version of Mike Cock? Great dude all around for sure, just thinking out loud...
