OIII IIIO hey shut up i never even saw a kangaroo on the roads before like in America theirs hogs on the road or even bear and have a 99% chance of getting killed while Australia is the safest country in the world from gun crimes
Way too often I meet people, who are completely clueless about a few important numbers of this world. So I made a short video to fix that. EDIT: I don't hate Australia, I was just joking around, give me a break. 2) I'm always referring to Australia the continent, not the country ("Australia" and "Oceania" are both legitimate terms when talking about the continent, though they comprise slightly different land masses)
+Dylan Schultz _"Tell that to the GDP per capita m9"_ You forgot to divide by PPP (purchasing power parity) Australia is pretty damn expensive for a lot of things.
+hammerpark :) I really like his style and found it a good fit to use as a starting point for me. Of course I hope to develop my own style over time, if I keep this going.
I tought it was funny watching a leaked photo of a dozen people vowing 90° to samsung's CEO as he leaves his parking lot like it's few hundred years ago when Korea was a kingdom. now I'm freakin scared instead of entertained
People bow all the time in Korea (and Japan, China, etc.). The more senior/old/important the person, the deeper you bow. It's like their version of a handshake (only classier and more hygienic). It's called showing respect, and we could do with a bit more of it in the West these days. ;)
wow i just discovered this channel through your latest video because i was searching up paradoxes on youtube. i love this channel! you remind me of CGP grey's videos, but i love you both equally! :D definitely subscribe, good work man!
The Rest Of Us I'm loving these videos. Truly intelligent and well stated information, but could you add your references within the video description? This would really help in researching and understanding these things further, as well as further establishing your channel as credible. Thank you.
I like the sarcastic approach. The end is probably the most important statement made. its not about the exact numbers but the trends and that does not change fast at all.
I love you're videos can you do a bibliography though or at least list sources. So I can do more in depth follow ups with some of the topics you discuss. Anyway good job keep going!!
Wow, just discovered this channel, and your videos are excellent! Also I can't place your accent. I keep going back and forth between European and Asain, but I can't tell, let alone narrow it down to one country.
Cool video! But for the next ones try not using those garageband loops as soundtrack. I would suggest you look for some other creative commons licensed music. Anyway, cool video.
The bureaucrat you took a stab at was one of the world's most longest serving democratically elected official in history, before he even got started in the EU. There's a good reason he's now leading the EU Commission.
Great video! Keep it up. I could see your content becoming quite popular if you're dedicated enough! Just a always, always, always, double check your facts and make sure you spell everything correctly and the video! ;) And with that, reach out to other channels and network! RUclips may seem just like the video hosting website, but it's truly a complex website that heavily relies on the interesting relationship it has with the community members. Get involved, be determined, and be original! You'll make it. :)
***** Definitely work on branding. That will help out a lot. Interesting channel art, video thumbnails, titles, and you're an icon are vital. People will judge a book by it's cover, but will often stay and read if they like what they're seeing. Take care. :)
One thing a lot of people don't really know about Australia is we all live on the coastline of Australia because it's very dangerous and hard to live in the desert (which majority of Australia is just a dessert). So we can't just live on the middle of the country where it's over 50℃ everyday. I get that we don't have a big population but it's better that way, we can't even support a country with 50 million, we actually kind of struggling and we only have 24 million as a whole country. My point is we might have huge land but majority of it isn't safe to live.
You can compare GDP and power but purchasing power is much different. In Netherlands you have about 4-5 times the money of Croatian but about 2 times the purchasing power.
Well this tells you how much power does your money have in your country. It should be counted in while trying to determine who is the "best" XD. I will make an example with big countries USA and Russia. Russian military defense budget is about $70 billion. Usa was 600 now it will be 800 billion. And Russia is still on the level and in many technologies a few orders of magnitude ahead (like rocket technology and non nuclear explosive devices for example). So Russia spends about 1/10 of the USA military budget. Why? Because you can buy a lot more in Russia for the exactly the same money (this is also good for the economy because foreigners want to buy from you and you can export your inflation, that's why all the gold after crisis ends up in "poor" countries). Also a smaller example is let's say that you need 15-20million dollars a year for maintaining laboratory in USA, you will need 2-3million in Croatia for the exact same thing.
Were trying
~From Australia
keep humping
It's ironic that you put "were trying" instead of "we're trying" because it seems like you aren't with "were trying."
I Tried

smexy is right -~australia mate]
Uh, 1.8 trillion is quite impressive for Australia, given there are not many people, its GDP per capita is higher than US so we're living better off.
OIII IIIO hey shut up i never even saw a kangaroo on the roads before like in America theirs hogs on the road or even bear and have a 99% chance of getting killed while Australia is the safest country in the world from gun crimes
Ok... When you have warnings to not swim or you'll be stung to death
That's when it's considered "not safe"
99% chance of getting killed? I guess I'm just really lucky.
In Australia we have a 100% chance of being killed. I do not currently know of any living Australians born in the 19th century.
Chris M but living cost is way higher in OZ
Way too often I meet people, who are completely clueless about a few important numbers of this world. So I made a short video to fix that.

+The Rest Of Us what the US would have only 2bil$ after their bills ;)
yeah~~ not sure how much does those american corporation pay in taxes sometimes~
Australia only has ~24.185million people mate, not 36million
jarrod lay continent vs country, mate
I love this video. It think would be nice if you also provide information about the societies' wealth too (e.g. by using GDP per capita figure).
all the dislikes are from australia
Along with a bunch of the likes ;)
Specifically kangaroos
That seems proportional. 80 dislikes to 15,00 likes.
or butthurt americans who only now found out that the eu is richer than the US....
Rexer3000 um disliking this comment
Poor Australia. It needs love.
;-;
Tell that to the GDP per capita m9
Well the 1.8 trillion is basically just Australia's GDP. And we're the 12th richest country in the world soo..
+Dylan Schultz
_"Tell that to the GDP per capita m9"_
You forgot to divide by PPP (purchasing power parity)
Australia is pretty damn expensive for a lot of things.
No, *too* expensive. It's near impossible to get good deals.
If you ranked the continents by GDP per capita Australia staunches everyone, get rekt m8s.
no dubai will beat al of them.
WHO'S LAUGHIN' AT THE BLOODY EMUS NOW FOOKERS?
na.Antarctica is having higher GDP per capita than Oceania
There is no proper definition for a continent.it changes from person to person
anyway Antarctica is having higher per capita income than Australia
Down In Australia we don't have time to reproduce. We're to busy riding on top of kangaroos.
Have you been inspired by cgp grey? :) great video tho

Wow, just discovered this channel, and your videos are excellent! Also I can't place your accent. I keep going back and forth between European and Asain, but I can't tell, let alone narrow it down to one country.
I'm going to guess German. Or maybe Swiss or somewhere multilingual.

I love how he refers to Australia, it's hilarious!!! Australian here :p
great vid, but how u found all of that, and u sure they r correct?
I like it how Australia is only a small rounding off factor....It's just too funny. I am from Fiji and brings into perspective great many things.

how did he make this video ?what software does he use
Power point.
"[...] Australia is not more than a rounding error." lol
Yes? Go on?
I thought for a second that the foreign reserves for Nigeria were USD25 and for some reason that didn't seem at all absurd to me.
You forgot about the continent of Antarctica with a population of about 1000 to 5000 people depending on season.
cool video, keep it up

Keep some more videos coming on GDP!
im assuming thats Oceana cause australia doesnt even have that.
If most of Zealandia is under the water does it still count as a continent
The fact that Australia has a larger gdp than South Korea, even tho it has 30 million less people makes it impressive.
4:45 If they had an army they be like the _Trade Federation_ in Star Wars.
When i was born in 1992 my country got 2.5 million people now we are heading for 6 million.
You should do an update for this video!
it;s hun- day, just like sunday, for hyundai
please tell me in three months this channel has 3 million subscribers at least
your videos are fucking GOLD! GOLD i tell ya!
you've got the less than and more than signs mixed up () remember the alligators
2:48 though 😂👌
NICE!
a more accurate way to look at GDP figures would be to adjust for PPP
u moving the slides very fast, please give it a time so we can understand it.
by the way thanks, and keep it up, u doing a good job.
Still can't believe how the US (the worlds number 1 country in most topics) chose that man as president.... 2:42
