The Countryman is the first four-door MINI and aims to offer increased practicality without diluting any of the fun associated with the MINI brand. Overall it's a great success, with fantastic handling and a well appointed and luxurious cabin
I was sceptical about the looks but since having one I love it it's fantastic and love driving it
The countryman is the best car mini has built so far, I have owned 4 mini coopers over the years and they have all been great cars, but the countryman in my opinion is the best so far.The car feels and drives like a mini hatch but with more room and comfort, All the people who when asked would they drive a mini and answered no because its too small? well now you have got the perfect replacement. Mini is not about being small anymore its about being a brand, and thats fine by me, The best thing that ever happened was the new mini in motoring history. We still have the classic mini to thank for creating a new mini which was well overdue, Things have changed and moved on in the mini world and im so glad the new mini was created. What else can you buy that looks half as good as the mini???? NOTHING.
I own a Countryman exactly like this ..Same colour and features.I fuc**** love it !
I've had this for almost 4 years and it's one solid car. Reminds me of my 94 Reg Nissan Micra.

Well built & expensive are two completely separate things. You can have a solid interior made from cheap scratchy, ugly plastic or one dripping in soft-feel textured plastic and leather that looks gorgeous but feels flimsy, rattles and falls apart after six months.
If I buy a Countryman can I order Mat Watson as an optional extra?
i love top gear but i prefer this type of reviewing.

Apparently, some models don't have A2DP or whatever its called meaning you can connect via Bluetooth for calls but you cant stream audio at least for the 2015 model.

Top gear isin't a consumer program you knob, its an entertainment program
apologies, on closer inspection, that review has been changed to private for some reason so you cant view it which is unfortunate
@ekWagonn totally agree with you, I used to watch fifth gear for that sort of reviewing but they have changed trying to copy top gear and have failed in both. what i like most about him is that he points to things that really matter when you shop for a car.
Do mini engineers listen engine noise in the cabin and the road noise? Please don’t say it’s normal. Price is very high for what mini quality offers.
That's an option available only with MINI in Europe. I drive a Clubman and the rear has two seats but in the EU, the Clubman has three! I don't understand why since it's too narrow for more than two even if one is a child and the other is an adult. I HAVE carried three adults in my car and nobody felt uncomfortable.
I have a soft spot for this car! :D

The best Mini ever built, was the ultra rare 1967 970 Cooper S.
The BMW Mini is a modern interpretation of the original car, but no car was as successful from day one in motorsport than the original Mini.
Even the iconic Ford Escort had to work hard to become the most successful Rally Car ever made, but Alec Isigonis creation was king straight ofter John Cooper breathed life into the little car.
He meant the hard plastics are well put together.

Can you make a test drive video of the 2017 1.5 Cooper petrol (not all 4)?
hmmm it confuses me! I don't know whether it's big or small... From some angles it almost makes a person look dwarfish...
I think it would help to see it side by side other cars.
This car is a Mini in the same sense that Top Gear USA is Top Gear.

I love my 2014 Mini Cooper Countryman.. Everything is awesome about it but yet not that much engine power unlike my previous 2011 BMW 535i

@MrFeruiz, it doesn't, my old man jus bought one, and it's the trickiest thing when it comes to size and space, you can stand right next to him, and find it small and big at the same time.

How do you know that it will hold its value better than its competitors over time ? What are you basing this assumption on ? Maybe this turns out to be a crap car and no one wants it in 3 years or so...
If you accidentally go to R instead of 1 you just need to practice driving stick.

My driving school had these, I absolutely hated to drive them. The steering is good but everything else is ghastly...

Great review, greatest interior... But... Mmmm... I think looks like a clown's car, bozo's car.

Fine car.
Awfully cheap interior. Dull plastics inside. Can link calls via Bluetooth but not audio tracks (Huh). Boot is rubbish. Seats fold but the folding mechanism is all wrong and awkward as sin. Ride is hard. Seats not comfy. Wing mirrors tiny. A pillars obscure views at junctions. Pedals such as brake, clutch and acceleration are too close to each other. Standard nightime lights are woefully dim. Daytime running lights are x3 brighter than sidelights you'd use at dusk/dawn.
It's sharp at cornering. Gearbox is slick. Staring can be made heavier for fun driving. Rear visibility is good. Back seat room is ample. Retro looks.
I really think this is just another car but with a cool badge. Possibly a poser's car and quite poncy it is too.
i drive one at my school in Essex and the car is shit to drive and don't like where the start button is and its ugly LOL i don't like it and i like a fucking ford ka shit car
