I just bought my first 2011 Mini Countryman Cooper s. I'm 46 and 6 foot 5 inches tall. I bought this same White/Black Cooper s countryman and I love it. There are a few things that bug me but I can live with them. The front cup holders are too close to the lower controls and only fit narrow bottom cups but like I said I can live with it for how great the car is. It is great on gas and has plenty of get up and go. It was also great getting through 11.5 inches of snow. It needs better response in first gear but they make a add on up grade switch for this which I will be buying soon. The turbo is smooth and healthy and very responsive. I will buy another once I wear this one out.
the engine on the 2010-present Mini Countryman Engine 1.6L I4 (One/Cooper) 1.6L Prince turbocharged I4 (Cooper S) 1.6L BMW N47 diesel I4 (Cooper D and One D) 2.0L BMW N47 diesel I4 (Cooper D Automatic and Cooper SD models)
This is a car that I absolutely want for s 1st car and yes I am under 18, which means yes I have not driven a car yet, but I have driven go-carts and some motorcycles. Here is a fun fact, here in Tennessee, you can get a motorcycle license at age 14.
I am Stoked about this Countryman, I am 6'2" and 300lbs (not fat just husky and large framed) anyway, I am stoked because this is the FIRST MINI I can be comfortable in and I am Definately going to buy one ( Ive always wanted a MINI But Never could be comfortable in one)
@ButRachaelsays21 What do you mean by make the car loud? For what it is, its quite sporty, but if sporty is what you really want then the cooper S is probably what you would be happiest with. the cooper s is like a gocart with doors and a roof
@ButRachaelsays21 I work for a mini dealership, and today i drive around 4 or 5 clubmen and several mini's...if you want a vehicle with 4wd, the clubman is the one, but if you want a sporty car id go with a mini cooper...and id go for the cooper S if you can afford it. there cool to bc theres so many customizable options
mini is a bit mean on standard kit as the top of the range CooperSDALL4 doesn't even have standard front fog lights which at £23,350 is a bit mean MINI they cost £130. But it is owned by BMW who have a reputation for overcharging. But it holds it value well, looks good, makes you look richer and cooler than you are and is fun to drive. But please MINI lower the prices.
@ObscureVD I dont like BMW's most of the time but I gotta admit the M3 is pretty hot. Mind you for the price it should be, I use to have a Mini cooper it was an 08 model I loved it great to drive cheap on fuel and looked good to. I got rid of it only because I needed a bigger car (I went with nissan Murano also a good car) but I would reccomend a Mini to anyone who has the money theyre quite costly here in Australia
I have a silver Countryman Cooper S and absolutely love it. Couldn't care less if its a "proper mini" or not. HOWEVER, I sent the first one back as the Silver paint was RUBBISH and had it replaced with another one, which is 90% better but still not perfect. BMW seem to have a problem with applying the silver paint to get an even colour, so if you are in any way picky I would recommend not buying silver.
I have a MCS and it rocks. Te back set is a bit small but the handling is amazing. Not to mention how customizable they are, how much fun rally's are, and how roomy it feels in the front seats. As a second car I'm thinking of the MCountrymanS. I just love it. The only mini I don't like is the clubman. Looks like a hurst. Yuck
Congratulations to MINI's staff. I am MINI super fan. I like better the MINI MINI external design. MINI Countryman performance in cross country is great, but the exterior, looks like Kia SOUL, maybe 'couse of front focus. (GYE, Guayas, Ecuador S. Am.)
Well I like mini's...and this is a not so bad car....i can't judge it right now, i will still have to go and see it live and maybe do a testdrive before i say anything bad about it.
@WeCouldGetArrested I have a 2010 clubman and its only 9in longer than your car............ plus it feels like your car and the countryman feels like a crossover.
@ButRachaelsays21 hey, ive driven many of these and they are not to big for a smaller person. my gf is your height so im aware of the concerns you may have. the only thing you can do is test drive it and see if your comfortable in it. this review says its big, but it really isnt, its just bigger than any other mini....and it is a lot of fun.
@skorob2010 Totally agree,the only good looking BMW is the 3 series convertible,as for the rest....... Alfa Romeo must be quaking in their boots..Not!!!!!!!
While it is bigger than any other Mini, it is a small SUV. So that's probably what is "mini" about this Mini.
Mat's the best. Most enjoyable reviewer to watch.
ITS LIKE A CONCEPT CAR PUT INTO PRODUCTION
"I've never done this in a Mini before", that's what she said.

I love it . Its my dream car and I'm so glad its 4 door and 4 wheel drive. I have grandkids to haul everywhere!!
I think that a heads up display would be a good feature. Because I think that speedo in the middle could be dangerously distracting.
The lights do look badass.
I'll never understand why people says this car looks like crap. It's so original, i mean, so unique...
@E60BMWM5
lol, its the speedo around the edge of the nave, but the speed is also shown digitally.
@tomasson05 i kno...i thought about gettin a juke when it hits the states. but the price starts at 20k vs the uk pricing of 12k.....

This car does loook BEAUTIFUL!!!
i think i quite like it. of course i cant really say much until ive seen it in person but i like the practicality of it.
I want to buy this mini bud i want to know some information about the service or if the car is ok for long traveling if it’s reliable ?? Thank you
o i wanna countryman :(, cant wait to see them on the roads!!
Momentum Mini in Houston will be seeing me soon.
I actually really like this one ... I just hope it gets a good crash test rating and I will think about getting one ..

@MidnightZeto I'm glad I'm not alone thinking this way fellow comrade.
the price tag and that rail thing make me pause, but everything else is pretty exciting.
"the mini that ate all the pie" LOL
It is massive in every single perspective.
I thought old mini's participated in some rally races a long time ago.
i always wanted them to make a 4x4 version.
i can still fit one in my van like the last one right?
@YourAppleNews saw one in the flesh, and I was like bleh. Mainly because it was gloss brown... In black in the cooper looks quite good...
@Solari111 bcoz countrymen is an offroader,,,,4*4
possibly based in the BMW X1 or X3?
@ObscureVD I dont like BMW's most of the time but I gotta admit the M3 is pretty hot. Just ordered this car!! Its amazing and I hate all you haters!!
Hows it holding up?

I own a cooper s camden and I have a countryman S on the build, same fun - but more practical with kids. MINI rules!
@Robkizzy very true... anyone who understands branding will agree

Nice looking car; wouldn't buy one my self, but it's nice anyway.
l loved mine black-black
@MrTGUK Exactly, looks like someone force fed it 10 tons of lard!
"Mini that ate all the pies" Hahahahah
@YourAppleNews I have, it's hideous. Not small either as the name implies.
@LoveGod16 have you seen the Nissan Juke?
It looks more like a Range Rover micro than a Mini Cooper 4x4. When are BMW going to rethink the overall shape of the standard Mini.
Congratulations to MINI's staff. I am MINI super fan. I like better the MINI MINI external design. MINI Countryman performance in cross country is great, but the exterior, looks like Kia SOUL, maybe 'couse of front focus. (GYE, Guayas, Ecuador S. Am.)
my next car...
i prefer the cheapest model in the range, i love it but the point is i don't need 4WD and turbos
I heard this car has a lot of body roll compared to the Cooper and Clubman, which would be very un-MINI.
Isn't the 64mpg good enough??
Thank god that toyota's technology saves my son's life on the football field
@twiggyzappa still too much dont you think? im waiting for the toyota/scion iQ to hit stateside....
this one or nissan juke?
Well I like mini's...and this is a not so bad car....i can't judge it right now, i will still have to go and see it live and maybe do a testdrive before i say anything bad about it.
i like this car
@Solari111 the wrc?
@Solari111 - I did it all the time :p
this man's crazy ikentell yeah
i don't think that the point of hybrids is mpgs but pollution.
My only gripe for the review is the lighting for the trunk review is terrible; you can't even see inside the trunk!
A normal Mini Hatch became hungry:
@sexyboi142 yeah 20 thousand is a lot.
0:15 Nice one.
This is only for stylish people who loves every day holiday.. like me
My thought,,,mIni was dOing mighty😀😀😀
@WeCouldGetArrested I have a 2010 clubman and its only 9in longer than your car............ plus it feels like your car and the countryman feels like a crossover.
I think that a heads
@ButRachaelsays21 hey, ive driven many of these and they are not to big for a smaller person. my gf is your height so im aware of the concerns you may have. the only thing you can do is test drive it and see if your comfortable in it. this review says its big, but it really isnt, its just bigger than any other mini....and it is a lot of fun.
i call mine the 'biggie' too, not talking about the car either
I found my new Love O_O
I really want this car
@ddk80 Then again it won't be the only un-MINI feature of the car. ;)
@Solari111 mat watson
@sexyboi142 12 thousand pounds is about 20 grand here.
where is my countryman.
@LilNemoFish no
Great, the first ! see also our armrest for it, in our channel
@ButRachaelsays21 I can make this decision easy by saying buy the mini cooper s. lol its more fun.
and thank god they used toyotas technology to power my amusement park :)
o_O It's Mat from Carbuyer!!
@TacoVilla and thank god they used toyotas technology to power my amusement park :)
@Solari111 rally baby!
@Solari111 ME if i get the sponsorship!
are all these cars yours?!
I like it.
I would drive it.
They should have called it the Maxi, not the Mini
@skorob2010 Totally agree,the only good looking BMW is the 3 series convertible,as for the rest.......
Alfa Romeo must be quaking in their boots..Not!!!!!!!
I'm not interested in watch a Nissan Juke when I'm looking at a MINI one...
21st century little red riding hood.
its look like the little sister of the porsche cayenne
Who drives a Mini through the woods?
it looks good but i think id rather drive the jeep grand cherokee through the woods
lol the british brand
It's more of a maxi...
How is this a review? He never even gave a conclusion as to i it was actually any good or not!
Original Mini - F**K YEAH, First new mini - Ok, New new mini - not as nice, Mini clubman - Not even a Clubman, Countryman - TOTAL MIND RAPE!
mat has come a far way
ikr😅
Dont tell us its a British brand. Its about as British as Sauerkraut. Theres never been a proper mini since 2001
I like it! :D
Necesito 50K USD para cpomprarlo, quien me ayuda????
