I've sat here for the last 20 minutes with a huge smile on my face. Of all the courses that I've played this year, West Monmouthshire has been my favourite, by a distance! The par-3's are extraordinary. The finish, all the way down from the 14th tee, is happily bonkers, and the clubhouse is warm & welcoming. I can't wait to go back next year!
This was recorded before Hereford - hence the sunshine and shorts. Some good stuff in it. I've got one more video to go and that might be it for the year depending on the wind.
@thehairygolfer I'll be honest. I know you have issues with the camera falling over and you hate the wind but I would really like to see a round where it is howling.
@@streamleazefishhouse I did play it in the wind off the whites and did okay. I can't risk the gear being blown over. Dave at foretofour golf had his blown over and it destroyed the lens. It's too expensive to risk £450 just to play in the wind. It destroys the sound too. Just not worth it, sorry.
Hi Simon, what a great put for your birdie on the first, well done!! Looks like your still having good weather for it. Hope the sheep in the background on the 5th green is now a subscriber!! If you watch the latest Chadwick video, you will see the track plan that I modelled for Charlie!! Have a great weekend.
This was recorded a few weeks back David. This week it has been cold, miserable and coming down stair rods. Courses are closed and not much golf being played. I'm very much behind with everything. I'll get along to chadwick in due course.
Great vid Simon, the course looks fantastic, must have been a rare day when a hilltop course has no wind which must have been enjoyable. You played really well and as you say, the par three’s look great. And of course, the views! Thanks again, keep smiling, cheers 👍🍺🏌️
The microphone dictates I can only record with no wind so when it's single figures I go. It's the people that makes the course special. I shall bringing them a bottle from my holiday to go on the bar. Cheers
The bit abouy my ex wife or the putt? 😂😂😂 I couldn't get to so many courses this year. A planned 2 day trip fell through and so many other days out. Bloody weather.
Aided and abetted by very little wind. It gets a bit 'fresh' up there at times but that ruins the sound so I get the very best of conditions. That's my excuse for not playing in the wind anyway........
Hello Tom, I love Kington and it was on the list for this year. I ran out of time and money. Looking at my list there were 5 courses total I didn't get to. I'm going to try very hard next year to get to Kington. I hope the braken will be up to make it harder. Cheers
Way to start off and too bad we can't have that weather back!! And really nice round!! I got to play earlier this week and it the temps were right at freezing!! Had to play to winter greens for the first 5 holes!!🏌♂⛳😀
I recorded this before The Herefordshire round and it was rather nice up there. I recorded last weekend and it was rather cold. I've never opened a pack of hot pockets in October before. Winter is coming and I'm predicting a harsh one. Nature likes to pay back for a few hot weeks in summer.
Robert, I have the pleasure of not recording in the wind. I don't want the same accident as ForetoFour golf. His fell over in the wind, broke a lens and shattered his credit card in the process. I just can't risk it. But it is a beast when it blows and it blew me off the mountain in a club competition. I have no illusions as to me beating this place.
Ebbw Vale is the nearest name. Postcode on the website. Before you dash up there at this time of year the grass stops growing up there. Best leave it until end of May. Think of the seasons being somewhat later than down at sea level. Cheers

@@thehairygolfer yeah you need someone to hold the camera so it doesn't fall over. It certainly isn't worth the risk of it falling over.

I couldn't resist and normally watch the whole round before comment and like ... but that put was awesome. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
You walk on the green knowing you have fouled up and you hope you don't 3 putt and then it drops in. I was as surprised as the viewer no doubt.

It is a special place. I have a list as long as my arm for courses I want to play again or as a first time.
Your start was epic.

This is a wonderful video.
Cheers. Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Simon great upload as usual, really enjoyed it, thank you.
Cheers Kev. Recorded a few weeks back while it was still warm.
Well played!

You need to find a date to play Kington Golf Club...similar in style to West Mon!!!

G’Day Simon
I’ve said this before what a great course when it’s reasonable calm and beast when it’s not
Still the views are amazing
Well played

Very good video Simon. Which is the nearest town to the club?
