No they don't. I just used it on a 22 year old Poser prop that didn't have any rational alignment, and even some crappy UV overlap, and it worked just fine.
Hey Nina, greate video as usually! I would be interested in this technique with two-colored transitional hair, darker at the base than the end. for instance gradient color from dark blue to white.
Do you know how to add inner shadow to the hair? When I import my hair in game it's very "flat" because it lacks some shadows on the tip and on the root of each hair mesh great tutorial though!
i am having a problem where the UV's are distorted once the hair uv is straightened which is making the lines of fur zigzag and it doesnt look like yours
being looking all over internet for a hair tutorial, yoursss is the best
Thank you so much! :)
This is a great technique but its important to note for it to work all of your hair uvs have to be aligned in the same direction.
You're absolutely right, thanks for letting me know ;)

Hello, can Principle BSDF Hair Shader from Blender be exported as texture maps?
Do you know how to add inner shadow to the hair? When I import my hair in game it's very "flat" because it lacks some shadows on the tip and on the root of each hair mesh
great tutorial though!
Did you manage to figure this out. I'm having the same issue.
