- This week on Sword and Shield we discuss Paul’s exhortation not to be deluded by enticing or plausible arguments in Colossians 2:4. This is relevant to our current moment of deconstruction and the need for clear, biblical teaching. Paul wrestled and was “in conflict“ over his concern for people being deceived by lies. We should have the same love and care for others.

John, I got into a very rough conversation on the radio in Cleveland defending you are what you are meaning about deconstruction. They don't get it. Keep telling people the truth.
That's because he needs to be deconstructed himself
Faith in Yahweh has never been a blind faith. When someone says, "It's not about answers, it's about faith," I believe they are talking about blind faith. When someone says, "We just need to love people," they don't seem to realize that helping people find answers is loving them, and it's a better love than letting drown in their doubts. I'm glad that my dad taught me from a young age to always look for answers.

2:50 On the subject of asking any question, I believe that's particularly important in today's culture, as naturalism and other ideologies offer other belief systems for reality.
There is a RUclips channel called Daily Dose of Wisdom that does just this, as he shares content from apologetics of various backgrounds of scientific, historical, ahnd biblical knowledge help flesh out the modern arguments for Christianity that as far as I've seen aren't often addressed in Churches.

I went through a deconstruction phase 15 years ago. I found it healthy. I never doubted I just wanted to know why we do what we do. Why we believe what we believe. Paul says to test everything. So I did and it was good. Now I have an answer for skeptics and I have become a good apologist.

For nothing worthy proving can be proven,
Nor yet disproven; wherefore thou be wise,

It misrepresents the Trinity in a pretty disrespectful way, and also misrepresents the gospel and makes it man-centered. I think if you look up a book review by Tim Charlies or Wretched Radio they might have one about it
Yeah it’s because the author promotes universalism and denies the authority of the Bible by saying that man limited God by writing it.
John I agree with you 100%. The wolves are in the church. They have infiltraded everwhere . Deconstruction are these wolves deliberty destroying christians belief in a Holy righteous just loving God. They can be vicious. They are leading people into sin. Love is telling people the truth in love. Love does not rejoice in wrong doing. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his rightousness and every thing else will be added unto you. Right and wrong matter to God. Jesus said Go and sin no more.
I notice that they either pick at the laws which were designed to have Israel stand out from the nations around them, and they conflate their importance with the importance of the moral laws, OR they throw up smokescreens of people's behaviour, which doesn't prove that the system they are sinning against is wrong, OR they try to claim there is such confusion that no one can really know anything, which is just assuming their own confusion on everyone.

People don't want a God. In a Godless life, you make the rules, the judgements when you fall short, and the forgiveness. Personal utopia, at the cost of anyone around who are affected by it. Personal bliss, societal chaos.
I would argue that God is just because of love, after all, it wouldn't be loving to victims to allow rapists and murderers to get away with their crimes. Without the concept of love that protects, justice has no meaning.
Doubt your doubts because they are not always trustworthy. Jesus is always trustworthy.
Mark 9 is good on unbelief.
In Matthew 28 the disciples’ reaction was they worshipped thru their doubts and Jesus drew near to them. He’s the author and finisher and perfecter of our faith. Don’t allow your eyes to be shifted away from the object of our faith! Scrutinize and question your doubts! In the midst of our questioning and doubting, we must consider church history!
