Lint is going to be a real head ache. I’ve had the issues with the ice maker, and got tired of the service people coming to our house to do a cheap fix, that didn’t last two days. Non I have ice trays and the darn frig is running constantly.

I have this type of GE refrigerator, however the light on the adjustment temperature section stopped working. I am now trying to get the model number in order to figure out what is wrong with it.

I had a module with digital setting on my GE French Door Stainless doors Refrig. The digit settings were set too low and the refrigerator wasn't as cold as it should be. I took the three screws out to pull the housing down - it was located inside the refrig. door at the top. I couldn't budge the settings. I observed it had a printed circuit board and when I squeezed it with my fingers I was able to get the freezer settings to change. Next, I pinched the circuit board further to the RH side where the refrig. setting was - eventually I was able to get that to work also - it was a bit more stubborn. Now the settings are fine, so I'm waiting for the result of colder food. I suppose the circuit board should be replaced, but now the settings appear just fine.

How do I turn off my set point light button to make my refrigerator colder

We have a refrigerator with this exact control panel. We had to move it out of the house to use in the garage. When I cleaned it out to move it out to the garage, I turned the controls to 0 "off" before unplugging it. When we got it to the garage (delivery men took it out for us with their handy straps) and plugged it in, the lights inside would come on, however no lights, NOTHING comes on on the control screen and nothing come on when I push any of the buttons. What did we do, or can we do? Thank you.
Gayle H We recommend resetting the electronics by unplugging the unit for 5 minutes. If that doesn't help you may want to contact service. The dispenser connections may have come loose when it was moved. GE Consumer Service can be reached by calling 1-800-432-2737. I hope this helps!

I have the same temp display controls on my GSSW model. However the temperature display just flashes 0 and I cannot change the temperature. The unit is still working, however it is warmer than I want it. The warmer and cooling buttons beep when pressed, but they do not change the display or the temperature. What can I do?
Before calling service, sometimes disconnecting power to the refrigerator for 15 minutes will reset the electronics; however there are some cases when further service may be required; you can do so by calling 1-800-432-2737.
why my GE model GSH25JSTA SS serial AM239012 dispense water on and off ( some time it does some time it doesn't and is not filing water to the ice maker so I don't have ice

How long is the compressor run each day on this type refrig? Mine runs for hours before shutting off only to start again in less than an hour with both settings on 5. Is this normal?

The temperature controls on my side-by-side refrigerator are not on the outside of the freezer door. They are at the top of the inside of the refrigerator side, right opposite the door. They are digital. Model no. is PSG22S1PAFBS. I am unable to get the numbers to change by pressing the controls. HELP!
Hi Hedy - this looks like an export model refrigerator and we have information here on products made for the United States. However, if your model uses the numbers 1-5 or 1-9 (rather than an actual temperature), they should change when you press the 'Warmer' or 'Colder' pads. If they don't, then you might try unplugging the refrigerator for 3-5 minutes and trying it again. Thanks -CC
Yes, it is an export model. Also, I made an error on installation date--it was 2005, not 2015, that it was installed. I tried unplugging the refrigerator as you suggested, then resetting, but it still didn't work. Maybe I didn't unplug it for long enough. I'll try that once again.

Hi, Matt. Most refrigerators make 7 ice cubes every 40-80 minutes depending on which model you have. The colder you set the temperature, the faster the ice will produce. If this is the first time plugging in your fridge, it may take up to 24 hours to get to temperature and produce ice. This is quite old. Does GE have a more up-to-date refrigerator settings video? I bought my GE fridge about 5 years ago and suddenly I need to change the temperature of the fridge. It's a two door, icemaker. Do you have any instructions?

My ice maker froze up, I thawed it, cleaned it, and checked for any blockage. When I put it back together, and turned on the water, and then the machine, the water pressure is very slow. The water pressure on the door is fine. What could be the problem, thank you?

Hello David - Due to the age of this video (2010), we are unsure of the exact model that was used.

GE Appliances: thanks. As you know, this is crazy antiintutive. It looks like a two-digit temparature, in Fahrenheit. And to make it colder, you push a higher number, not a lower one?
So, to rest to factory defaults I can just cut the power, right? If not, how?

Correct- to make it colder the number goes higher. Think of it as increasing the amount of 'coldness' for the refrigerator. Alternatively, to reset to factory defaults you would increase or decrease temperature (depending on what it is set at now) to 5 and 5.

This video covers adjusting the temperature controls on Side by Side Refrigerators that have Digital 0-9 setting controls located on the exterior of the freezer door.
This type of control can be identified by the words 'Set Point' the control panel. The freezer compartment adjustment buttons and digital display are located on the left side of the panel. The refrigerator fresh food compartment buttons and digital display are located on the right side of the panel.
Note: there is no digital display during normal refrigerator operation. The default control settings for the factory are 5 for the Freezer compartment and 5 for the refrigerator compartment. The coldest setting is 9 and the warmest setting is 1. The 0 setting is OFF which turns off cooling. Pressing any warmer or colder button 1 time will display the current control settings of the refrigerator and freezer. Pressing the warmer or colder button again will adjust the temperature control setting. To press the control button cooler, press the colder button of the desired compartment to increase the setting by only 1 number. You will notice that the Set Point indicator light will illuminate. Make sure to wait 24 hours before making another adjustment in order to give the temperatures time to stabilize. Repeat as needed until you reach the desired temperature.
Adjusting the temperature warmer: To press the control button warmer, press the warmer button of the desired compartment to decrease the setting by only 1 number. Make sure to wait 24 hours before making another adjustment. Repeat as needed until you reach the desired temperature.
Turning cooling On and Off: To turn off cooler to the refrigerator and freezer, repeatedly press either warmer button until 0 appears for both compartments. Note that this does not shut off electrical power to the refrigerator. To turn cooling back on, press any button 1 time. 0 and 0 will appear in the display to show that the unit is off. While 0 and 0 is displayed, press either colder button 1 time this returns the refrigerator and the freezer to the default control settings from the factory.
Checklist: 1. Pressing the controls once shows the current temperature control settings. 2. Pressing the controls again will change the control settings. 3. To turn OFF cooling to the Refrigerator and Freezer, repeatedly press either “Warmer” button until “0” appears for both compartments.
