We had several questions on how to set or reset the temperature in the freezer and refrigerator. Little Teacher demonstrates.
The door alarm how to turn it off and on. Sometimes having it off while you are working saves your ears and nerves. Just do not show this to your children.
The water filter check. What does the red blinking light mean. How to fix it.
Lastly the Turbo Cool feature. How to turn it on. When and why use it. Also, how to turn it off.

Thank you! Woke up and found everything frozen...in the refrigerator! Manual said the back vent could be blocked, and there was a bag of shredded cheese up against the fan/vent. So I looked at the temp buttons...pressed it once. It went up to 38...the manual doesn't tell you how to "move the temp numbers around." Thank you for the video! Let's hope by tomorrow everything is good!

Thank you for this information on the digital settings for the GE French Door refrigerator freezer. Neither the appliance manual nor the GE website gave me the detail you provided in spite of over 90 minutes of research. Your RUclips segment saved me, as I had accidentally raised the freezer temp to 6 degrees and was terrified if I continued to hit the button, it would continue to raise the temp. Thanks to you, I can get a good night's sleep tonight!

Excellent tutorial on how to adjust the refrigerator and freezer temperature. I checked the manual that came with our new refrigerator, but that was useless so I called GE, but they couldn’t help me either. In fact, GE wanted to send a technician to my house. So I decided to find a tutorial, and yours was perfect. Thank you for the help. I want to add, the GE representatives I spoke to were very professional and they really tried to assist me, but couldn’t. You should be getting a paycheck from GE. 🤗

Wow!! This fridge delivered today and the manual is useless… couldn’t figure out how to adjust the freezer temps…. You are a Godsend! Thank you…. I replaced a slate GE fridge cos my first one died at 5.5 years old…. Hate the changes they made and hope this one lasts longer, lol

2:15 pm 3/4/23 so thank you for demo on temp adjustments not in manual, I even called Lowe’s they had no clue. Only had unit 2 months. Also I watched filter change for future. Question, when I pressed filter check it flashed 57 in red light. What does that mean and when should I change filter ❓
Unless you have hard water. Lots of minerals you should get a year or more out of a filter. We pressed the red light and it will turn off and reset. I hope this helps. Let us know.
If mine is only showing negative numbers and the filter status doesn’t red light doesn’t go off should it be cause I need to change the filter?

Hello, thanks for that tutorial! My spouse let the freezer door a little opened the all evening and when I woke up this morning i noticed it was making a growling sound. I unplugged it waited for 5 mn thinking it will reset it but still the same! I think I am better calling a tech…. Thanks for your feedback

How about temperature atmosphere shouldn’t the freezer be at 3 or 4 or 5 . Because if the freezer is set at 0 then it’s gonna over freeze and spend more $$$ during this winter time . I do believe we need to take it in consideration

Hello! Thank you for asking this question. The 2 smaller drawers have the selection between fruit and vegetables only. The larger party tray can be set from cool to coldest and if you are trying to chill this drawer you can use the turbo cool to chill it. This is useful if you have a tray of meat, vegetables or cheese to cool rapidly. Unfortunately, there is no other way to change these setting temperature wise. I hope this helps.

This is great! I just purchased mine in December 23. Can you tell me how if possible do you reset your door alarm? I touched it to stop the alarm while getting veggies out today but now it wont work anymore😫. Is there a restart/reset for the door alarm? I could not find anything in the packet/manual I was given. Hello ! The door alarm can be touchy. Try gently touching it and it should start blinking again. If not let i=us know.
I full time TV and this fridge is what’s factory installed in my RV. I am trying to get my freezer to freeze. Do I go to the farenheit minus side to get is to freeze better if it’s not frozen enough or to the Fahrenheit plus side like 1,2,or 3 ? Thank you for the tutorial 😊
Hello! The Fahrenheit side is -6 or negative 6, this is the maximum negative temperature,ours is @ 0 degrees Fahrenheit it does well there.

Is it possible to turn off the freezer
Hello. If you turn off the freezer it will melt. The safe way is to unplug. Turning it up can damage the controls. Thank you!
Ok I have done everything you’ve said to do on both freezer and fridge temp but when I go thru the entire cycle I only get - negative numbers only ugh can’t even find zero 0 for my freezer or even 37 for my fridge. It won’t go up that far. No clue what happened but think our house keeper messed with it- HELP!

How do you figure out what the actual temps are in the fridge and freezer? I just got this and want to know when it’s OK to start putting stuff into it.

Thank you. The fridge was down to 37 in about 3 hours. Turbo Mode could have probably made it faster.

Hello! 37 degrees is the factory setting. To get it colder 36, 35, 34 and 34 is the coldest it will go. It is approaching freezing which at 32 degrees will freeze items. Thank you.

Is it possible to have "set temp" off for both fridge and freezer? When is set temp is lit on the fridge side, it runs at turbo level and freezes the food. Ruins produce.
@robertwagner2565 Hello! Having the set temperature on and not set at the 37 degrees that GE recommends will engage the turbo to cool. The refrigerator thinks that the temperature is too warm, as it is not set. Also, the freezer temperature should be at zero degrees. Having 1 or both on "set temp" will cause the unit to run and yes, freeze produce. We hope that this helps.
Now, if you can not get the temperature of the refrigerator to stay at 37 degrees or freezer at 0, then you may need a service call.Please let us know.
Hey Fun Guy… question for you… can’t find any videos about this… the inside water spout has stopped working… something shifted w the button… I hope this can be replace? Hello! My first question: Is there a light on the panel. See video to see where it is located. it is possible the new unit is bad. If there is no light then it is a faulty unit. I had a unit on my parents that I wound up trying twice to get a good new unit. Please let us know what you see, I will check further on this also.

Hello, my filter sign was blinking red and the fridge wasn't getting cold anymore, I had also noticed the fridge wasn't vibrating the way it normally would when it worked. So I changed the filter today and I was wondering how long does it take for the fridge to start getting cold?
The filter and the temperature have no correlation. The filter filters the water for cleaner and better tasting water and ice cubes. The temperature can be affected by items blocking the vents which circulated the colder air. I would check that first. If this does not help then a service call is in order.

Hello! If you do not have a door dispenser, then it is for the ice. We found as the filter was used and it was plugged the ice began to take longer and the quantity diminished. You usually can skip the first notice on the filter. Thank you for asking.

I have a question, my light went off in my GE Profile French Door frig. and my refrigerator is only 3 months old. It did it once before but it came back on and now its not. I don't even know where the light is? Also why the ice fall behind the ice compartment to the bottom of the freezer. How to get it out?
Hello. The ice does fall and can be annoying. You can try to push the bottom drawer in. Otherwise try to snag it out the side. Hopes this helps. The light button is at the top of each door. See if one or both are bent.
This would be super helpful as I couldn’t find a manual and this is my refrigerator. However, when I push on the settings there is no beep and nothing happens. Somehow my refrigerator is set on 35º and I want it at 37º. Is there a reset or something else I should be doing to get these buttons to respond?

Also, my wife said make sure the finger you use is warm. These buttons are heat sensitive. Cool fingers or cold fingers may impede the setting.

@@PSUPunguy Thanks for responding. I had carefully followed all of the steps and there was zero response. What actually worked was to push the refrigerator out away from the wall (no easy task for this old lady), unplug it and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then I plugged it back in and it reset and worked fine.

@@PSUPunguy Sure! I guess, as with many electronics, the first thing to try is to unplug and let it sit for a minute. I would have done it earlier but the refrigerator is hard for me to move. I got it done though, and it’s working fine now.
37 not cooling fridge enough and freezer not freezing at 0 at all what is the coldest temp for bottom freezer ice cubes maybe 12 came out then started to melt just brought it last week
I suggest a service call. 37 degrees is where the items in the fridge will not freeze. Also the 0 degree for the freezer works well. It could be a fan issue. Let us know what you did. Thank you.

There is a cycle already in place. Every 24 hours it is to do a defrost. Let me know if it is cleared up.

The alarm can be disabled by pushing on the alarm button. It will turn off by not showing the underline of the button.

I’ve had fridge for about two years and I don’t know when it started but it happens randomly. But when I open the door the fridge temp gauge will automatically cycle through and stop in a random temp I end up putting it back to 37 and it’ll be fine and let’s say a week later it’ll do it again. I cannot find why it does this.

How do you know WHAT your current temp actually is?????
A good temperature gauge will show you or a sensor probe.
Good tutorial. I agree with another commentator, manual is usless. My negative comment: please clean the edge of the fridge, clean your nails... both of you.
My red filter light won’t go off
Hello! If you tried to reset by holding it 3 seconds, then it is time to get another filter. We have found a year with well water and others say city water can be sooner. But a trick to use is remove the label and there is a metal code that will allow you by placing it on a cheaper, but same style filter will let you reset the fridge. Any questions, please ask. Hola! To make ice you need to connect a waterline. Then use the water dispenser on the door to make sure water is in the system. Next push the switch, it turns on a green light and make sure to release the arm, this will allow ice that will be made to be dispensed. Thank you for asking.

My food started freezing. What can I do? I have the same fridge, got it in Aug '22
I would raise it to +3/or +4 .. on winter time like now .. see if you can test it .. give it a week and post your bill $$ if sny difference. I would I appreciate it

I had the same thing happen to me--you have to make sure those white vents directly in the center of the top shelf are clear and unobstructed at all times, otherwise, you get the freeze.

My temp changes on it's own. I'll set it to 37 and a few days later it will be up on 44 and I have to reset it to 37. Does it change by itself to adjust the inside temp or is there something wrong with my fridge?
Hello! Wow, I am not a technician, but a suggestion is there are air flow sections that if they are blocked it could be a reason that your temperatures are not staying where they were set.
These air exchanges are on the back wall of the refrigerator. Please let us know if this helps. Other wise you may need a service tech.
