- Let's look at one of the most simple control panels on the fridge. It's the GE Side by Side control panel. Having reviewed the tech out models of Samsung, whirlpool, it's good to know the GE fridge is a very simple design overall. No guessing work is needed in finding out how to use the fridge control panel.
I'll work thru the control panel and setup in this video.

I just bought the same GE refrigerator this week from Lowes. I transitioned from a Whirlpool Ultraease side by side after 19 years for great use. I hope my GE last just as long.
After resetting the temperature- how do you save the temp so it doesn’t change

What is the ideal temperature to keep the GE fridge set to? Should the freezer be set to 0 and the fridge set to 36? I have the freezer set to 3 or 2 right now, which I believe is “warmer.”
Freezer should be at 0.

So the LCD display only lights up when you want to see the actual or change the freezer/refrigerator temperatures right?
Yes, when you press it to check.

Does anyone experience the freezer displaying (-1) even after I set to (0)?
That means error message. Maybe unplug fridge for 1 minutes before plugging back in to reset it.
Can you jack it ?
My GE refrigerator is new the control light does not stay on the thermostat is correct 0 and 37 but the light goes out, is the right? Or tell me how to cut it on
That’s normal. The screen turns ON when you need to change it.
My control display is flashing 0 on all four display, Is it the display or control board?
Could be control board. Maybe have a technician look at it.
My GE side by side refrigerator side is showing 51 and the freezer is 13,and has ice on the inside of it
Could be lots of things, have an appliance technician check it out.
My temperature light keeps flashing I have tried to reset it but it still does the same thing
Temperature is too high when it flashes. Try adjusting the temperature lower.
?what if you unplug the fridge is the temperture setting the same as u explained .
I only shown the default so it may come back to the default.
My water filter will not reset after holding down the button for 3 seconds. Any advice?
Remote the water filter, re-install water filter then try the reset again. That should work. Ask how I know ;)

I have this GE Model. I'm having trouble to set the refrigerator side to the temp 50.
Somehow it's always on 45 degrees.

Fridge should always be at 30-35 ish

Sometimes in the winter when it's too cold.
The hight of the door is easy to adjust!!!

I need to reset my freezer after a power surge.
Not sure on this will fix it. Maybe unplug fridge and wait 5-10 mins plug back in.
I had a power surge tonight in Tennessee. I thought the fridge was done for. After 5 hours i pressed a button, not sure which one, and held in the thing you put your cup against to get water and ice for like 3-5 seconds and boom it turned back on. I have an older model GE, I know im a year late but if anyone else sees this hopefully it helps!
