    It looks like "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" combined with "Beauty and the Beast".

      Yes, I was heavily influenced by Walt Disney in my youth (he passed away when I was in the fifth grade). Thanks for the nice comment and my apologies for not seeing this sooner to reply.

      @@HALLOWEENHOWTObySaulFilms What? You were in 5th grade in 1966? Your voice makes you sound like you're a lot younger than you really are. Wow!

      @@CanadaDragon1 Thanks for the compliment. Born in August of 1957... I've been doing this since the 7th grade. I do not even want to add up how many years that has been!!

    Dito! Your tutorials are so thorough and true step-by-step instructions. The two aspects of this project you didn't cover was the overall illumination of the hand and the apple, and where to source the fiber optics. Did you use fluorescing paints and an external blacklight to make the hand and apple glow? That is my guess. I love the overall effect - VERY Disney Imagineering!

      Thanks Steve Mahr for the comments and also the questions. I sourced the fiber optics from a local lighting fixture store but it can also be found at computer parts stores (for those that build their own computers), online and I have also found fiber optic lights and do-dads at thrift stores where you could repurpose their fiber for your own use. I did use a blacklight for my set (along with other lights), however I used no blacklight paint ... it just gave it that interesting look. The overall effect being compared to Disney Imagineering is the ultimate compliment, much thanks for that!

    Love watching your videos any chance could you do the enchanted rose From Beast And the beast

      Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I think you could use this video as motivation and with a little ingenuity, the components of this prop could be re-worked as the rose from 'Beauty And The Beast'. Although I will not be able to do it, I would love to see the result of your efforts if you decide to take it on. I think the key would be to find a hallow tube for the rose's stem and run the fiber optics up through it and onto an artificial rose. Or wrap the fiberoptic cables bundled along with a wire with floral tape or green colored platic tape. That way you could also gracefully bend it to look like the rose's stem. It is all trial and error... and persuveriance.

    Oh ok not that tech savvy. Ahhh is there any way I could bum a copy from you? I hate to ask that but it would go perfect with my haunt this year.

    What colors did you use to paint the apple and hand? Chalk paint, spray paint, flat, gloss, ext ext?

    • @HALLOWEENHOWTObySaulFilms
      @HALLOWEENHOWTObySaulFilms  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks for asking Brian. I used simple acrylic (the type in the small tubes with flip-top lids), water based paint from a hobby store. I always use flat or low luster to avoid shine and glare off of the objects. I will at times use a spray paint, especially as a primer and/or base coat. Although I did not use blacklight paint, I did use a blacklight for some of the lighting just because it can give a cool effect. I think what is important is not to forget shading, highlight and shadow painting to give things dimension.

    May I ask where you got the screams from in your opening scene?

    • @HALLOWEENHOWTObySaulFilms
      @HALLOWEENHOWTObySaulFilms  6 лет назад

      Hi Brian, thanks for asking, it is from FreeSFX (their info is listed in the description portion of the video). Search their website under "screams", it is a "high pitched female scream" 1.65s in length. I then slowed it down and put a slight echo effect on it.
