The thing is... People need to understand that people have different ways of showing love. Just because IT'S YOUR PREFERENCE of liking this one better, doesn't give you the right to be ignorant or ignore what's been shown throughout the series. Goku is a loving father and husband in my eyes. A loving father in that sense that, when he first saw Goten when he gets to come back for a day, he held Goten in his arms like a loving father. And that is sweet in my eyes. A loving husband, is in his own way, him being one of the strongest (if not the strongest) saiyan on Earth, he actually listens and do farming and go out and get groceries etc just because Chi Chi said so. So that on his own is a loving husband in his own way. Yes, I agree that Goku isn't a romantic type of guy, but it doesn't mean he doesn't love Chi Chi (like a husband would) or Goten and Gohan like a father would. I've seen so many times that people like to compare Goku to Vegeta and I am honestly getting sick and tired of this. Before I read comments, I didn't think there are people out there who actually says Goku is a jerk or hates him -___- Sure those are some few people out there. If it's a joke, I personally don't find it funny at all seeing this repeatedly. What I am trying to say is. Vegeta never held Trunks like a father would when he was born, but Goku did for both his son. BUT does that mean I am trying to say Vegeta is a bad/unloving father? Sure he may be strict and all BUT no, he isn't a bad/unloving father to me. He loves his wife and child, but his way of showing this is in a tsundere way. Goku loves to train to get stronger? I am not comparing for the sake of comparing, but I just honestly hate it when fans push Vegeta up there like a saint when he's not perfect either. Both Goku and Vegeta have their flaws, but to me, in my eyes, both of them have their own way of showing their love for their family, and people they care about. Goku does love his family and his son and will not hesitate to sacrifice himself to protect them, and it's enough for me to see that he is a loving husband and father. For the record, this scene is already one of the scene that display fatherly love coming from Goku on Goten...

Ever since you were born you've only heard stories about how great your dad is and the second he shows up you see every adult (your mom included) getting teary-eyed and crowding him to welcome him back. Goten pushed past his confusion real quick to hug Goku.
Watched this scene in Kai, didn’t even come close to hitting as hard as this version. The music here was literally the best music they could’ve possibly played at this moment, plus, the dialogue, while probably less accurate to the original script, is a lot more heartwarming.

This was the entry into the Buu saga. I was finishing my college when DB Super came out, and all the DBZ memories came flushing in. Now I have a doctorate and working. I hope there is another Dragon Ball anime after Super. I need Dragon Ball nostalgia.
