YES. Whoever came up with this feature was a genius. Maybe they could also do a different character, like Bulma's commentary or Oolong's commentary, just someone that has been around since the beginning so they have a grasp of it all.
This is the kind of cute thing PS2/Dreamcast games did that Devs no longer have time for... I miss when they cared about players like this. This is why we are gamers to this day. Without these moments, video games would be just a passing memory, but because we had them, they're distilled nostalgia.
I think it's a matter of resources. Making games now is so much more expensive and takes so much longer, most devs don't have the time to add many "unnecessary" features.

It's really that many of the on-the-ground devs have more people to answer to, leads, senior developers, exec, middle-management and the freedom for one or two junior devs to just add something like this isn't justifiable in their eyes.

I’d love it if Gohan took over the commentaries in Sparking Zero Since he’s a scholar and a fighter, he would have the best understanding of all the characters in the game via stories from Goku and the gang themselves, as well as fights he personally participated in. Imagine if he comments on the fact he got an eye exam after the majin buu saga because he regretted missing the potara earring Goku tried to giving him. Explaining the glasses he wears later on in super.

I'd consider him a net negative as well. It's not like Piccolo was the one cleaning up all the messes he caused.

I love this so much. If you go through all of this in a row you can really feel a progression, a feeling of going though all the memories of everything as post commentary for the whole series. It was sweet for SSJ4 Goku to still feel the love from Chichi after all the complaining about Super Saiyans, and also the progression of Great Apes commentary too. I especially like her comments on Dabura at 17:49, making reference to her actual interaction with her even as filler, and also thoughts on Raditz 12:59 too! The interest of meeting him after she passes away is such a fun thought process XD I guess once you died and see what happens, death isn't as scary as one thinks anymore!

Gotta remember this is pre Super, so ChiChi’s experience with piccolo has been nothing but stressful.
If Gohan died and Piccolo lived, they could have just used the dragon balls. If anything, Piccolo's the reason why Gohan had to go to Namek (on multiple accounts because he's also why the saiyans knew about the Dragon Balls), and his actions directly lead to Gohan getting his neck snapped.
I'd consider him a net negative as well. It's not like Piccolo was the one cleaning up all the messes he caused.

I love this so much. If you go through all of this in a row you can really feel a progression, a feeling of going though all the memories of everything as post commentary for the whole series. It was sweet for SSJ4 Goku to still feel the love from Chichi after all the complaining about Super Saiyans, and also the progression of Great Apes commentary too. I especially like her comments on Dabura at 17:49, making reference to her actual interaction with her even as filler, and also thoughts on Raditz 12:59 too! The interest of meeting him after she passes away is such a fun thought process XD I guess once you died and see what happens, death isn't as scary as one thinks anymore!
