I know there are some mixed feelings about the gameplay at the moment... However, when it comes to attention to detail, Sparking Zero delivers! Can't wait for that December patch, tho👀
There was a detail I remember in bt3 that if u choose a like people with tails and the stage area had to be at night then when look at the moon they change into a great ape. It could be used on kid goku , vegeta (scouter), raditz, nappa, Turles and bardock. But I don't know if it is going to work on the others except vegeta (scouter) or they just didn't included it in sparking zero
I hope they don't focus on the wrong things when patching the game. I have a huge issue with 100% Frieza's Death Saucers still homing in on you even if you knock him around (It can even softlock you if you kill him with a cinematic super and they hit your character on the victory screen) Also, Ki barrage supers are pretty weak in general. They do low damage, if they can even hit the enemy and even if hits do connect the enemy can always dodge mid barrage. I haven't heard of the new update is gonna fix that, all I know is just adding 1 skill point to "instant sparking" and False Courage isn't gonna save the game. Also, it will make the What If battle there Trunks has to beat Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan quickly harder, because I don't think you'll have the time to get enough skill points to go sparking and use it (which was my strategy to beat it in time. Ulti - > instant sparking - > Ulti) Don't know if players will be able to do that in the future.
I like the little detail of the Ginyu force having updated scouters. In the anime, in the ressurection of F arc, the most modern scouters no longer explodes when it tries to read a powerlevel far beyond its capacity to calculate. Instead of exploding, it just shuts down protecting itself from exploding making it safer for the user.
@SonicTheHedgehogX15 technically no, and that would never harm anyone from dbz. Only in the reboot did they have bad writing saying Characters are only strong when prepared. Goku got hurt by a bullet, and a weak laser gun. That's not even canon to dragon ball lore, gokus body is so strong that as a kid he got shot point blank and was fine. Just bruised. As a adult goku can take a punch that would decimate the moon. Him being prepared just makes his resilience higher, but once he built his body up, sleeping a bullet to the eye couldn't hurt him. I understand power scaling is dragon balls biggest flaw second only to the terrible character designs that came during and after Super, but no way would a bullet ever hurt goku.

They are all different levels of superman. Only in poorly written superman stories does superman get shot with kryptonite bullets. Comics written by kids with adult jobs.

I think Trunks got the faceplant because of his (relatively) unique characterization. He's not a fighter, he's a warrior; that is to say, most of the characters train either for self-improvement or other internal motivation, Trunks didn't. He trained to survive and ultimately kill the androids and his fighting style reflects that (even if his actual power comes up short,) he doesn't fight to win but kill.
Still, I find it weird that Z Broly has that kick lighting attack as well... you would think, due to portrayal, bulk, and his own appearance would give him the faceplant as well... but for DBS Broly to have it instead... not mad at it, but just... weird and slightly underwhelming.
Yeah, that was my feeling. From my (limited) understanding, the other Saiyans tend to 'play' with their opponent somewhat, looking for an interesting fight. Even Gohan does it. On the other hand, Trunks tends to go straight for the jugular and to end it as fast as possible. There is an element of ruthlessness there.
A fun but useless thing i found is that you can bend ur beam attacks! If u are locked-off your opponed and fire a Beam-Type attack, if u tilt your camera in any direction as soon as you fire, the beam will actually bend in the direction you point!!
Wait.....are you telling me that I can actually direct my beams?!!??!?! Dude there have been so many moment where I was locked off of someone, but was in the perfect position to fire an attack off. It always missed and went nowhere near them, BUT I never thought of looking directly at them when i tried
Not useless, I always hit the chargeable kamehamehas because of it. Since my opponents usually expect me to launch it immediately, I bend it wherever they’re going after they dash or whatever and basically get a free hit

That was my point, Final Form Cooler using that move on Goku is outright a meme, in part due to TFS's Cooler Abridged having the line "Ima plant me a dumbass tree!" when he does it. So you'd think if they are going to have a move which is that, they'd give it to Final Form Cooler.
Another cool detail is that unlike other transformations, Super Saiyan God for Goku does not have that explosive energy burst like all the other forms, mimicking how he's transformed in the Broly movie. Instead of expelling the energy outwards, he instead draws it into himself

Once during the BoG arc, twice during the ToP and the last time in the Broly movie. Manga is a separate continuity from the anime and cannot be used in Sparking Zero as pretty much all video game adaptations have avoided using anything from the DBS manga
@@sky-oq5mrSSG isn't even a SS transformation and should have simply been called Saiyan God. It is not a rage based form like any of the previous SS forms, and Blue is just Super Saiyan while keeping the calm and controlled state from SSG, God was never a rage state.
If I remember correctly, the scouters that the Frieza Force use don't break unless an even higher DP character sparks. The older models used by the saiyans ends up breaking easier.
One cool detail I found while testing every character is that one of Kale Super Saiyan (Berserk)'s skill called "Berserk Rage", which is an instant Sparking Mode, give her even more buffs when she's facing Goku ! When I saw this, I immediately thought about testing it with the others "Gokus" and it worked against every one of them EXEPT Goten for some reason !
So, apparently, two new things are coming to Sparking! ZERO that fans have been asking for for months now. One is that transformations are supposedly separate on the character select screen now. And 2nd, there's supposedly splitscreen on more stages (there was a screenshot of it on the World Tournament stage).
More things -insta sparking is being nerfed, all will cost 1 more -saiyan spirit will cost 1 less - 2 more but I forgot what exactly so we will have to wait for everything in the patch
The scouter break mechanic also has a few other things related to DP. if a character with a scouter faces a character with a DP higher than 7, the scouter will break right at rhe start of the match. Also, since frieza has a new gen scouter, it's more resistent and doesn't break when a character under 6 DP goes into sparking. P.S. the numbers might be wrong since I haven't really tested the limits of scouters myself

I love Sparking Zero; it's a fun game. But while playing, I found something interesting while grinding for Porunga Dragon Balls. I was playing as UI Goku and used my Instant Sparking. We all know it takes a few seconds to activate. The CPU Broly, who was already in Sparking mode, used his ultimate. As soon as UI Goku's Sparking finally activated, the energy burst blocked the ultimate; I'm guessing it is a timing thing.
One interesting thing i want you to test in Sparking zero is the requiriment to destroy namek 1- It seems in general, that the requiriment for a ultimate to destroy namek, is that it has to be a beam and that the character using the beam is a character with high power level. 2- All ultimates that are a big ball of energy seem to destroy namek regardless of the power level of the character but for some reason spirit bomb never destroys the planet, even though goku in the show always tell for everyone to get out of the way. 3- Normally rush ultimates like dragon fist or around the character type moves like bulky trunks's explosive wave or majin vegeta's final explosion don't destroy namek, but fpr some reason daima goku(the pre order dlc character) ultimate, despite being a rush ultimate does destroy the planet.
Im surprised they still didnt make the candy beams from the buus actually have them eat the opponent if it finishes them off. It just looks so silly to turn them into candy, kick them, and somehow they turn back on their own after that lol.
My favorite detail from Sparking Zero so far are giant grab clashes, either with 2 giants or a giant and a regular sized character. I haven't seen anyone mention or showcase it yet and it looks so cool.
The destruction mechanic only working for dash-attacks I believe is not due to any shockwaves (don't really see any shockwaves, especially not compared to any other blocks from attacks), but looks much more like it's simply because dash-attacks will push the opponent backwards. So block a dash-attack would still push you backwards, and I doubt it would have the same effect on the enviroment if the attack didn't push them towards the destructable enviroment.
I was looking for this comment, I'm fairly certain KaDazee is aware of that fact because every example in the video has the character with their back to a wall and you can see him set it up at 16:45. I don't get why you'd lie about it tho, I mean yeah the hit to his reputability is minimal but what's he gain from that loss? He added 1 thing to inflate the list (I'm guessing), I know it's a lie, he lost some trust. I just don't really see any win there other than helping fill the video but the list is solid regardless and that entire section is less than 2 minutes long. Makes me wonder if there's a reason to hit 20 minutes and that section was so short it was dumb to have so by adding this he got to talk about the Budokai 3 opening and demonstrate it over and over to show "it only works with dash smash attack" which filled the time perfectly hence a 20:08 video but that's just a theory. A game theory! or a youtuber theory idk that didn't sound very good to me.
Fun fact: It seems that there are characters who automatically gain attributes when they enter Sparking Mode. So far I've only found Kid Gohan and Base Uub. This is probably due to the fact that they are 2 characters who become stronger when they get angry, so Sparking Mode reflects this characteristic by giving them attributes.
9:29 Ki charging can also clear ki blast smoke. In BT3 GT Goku base, can use his dash super attack on heavy type characters despite him being not powerful enough like SS3.
Okay, Hirudigarn just got so much cooler. When the game was in progress and we still believed it will come with Super characters after having advertised itself as the first super focused Dragon Ball game (shame that didn't happen) I was doubtful but hoping that ToP arena will ban flight, and that we will get some natural flight characters. So knowing there's at least 1 in the game is nice, even if it's not a character I care about, it does give him a niche to be fun

I think a reasoning why Z Broly has the standard lightning attack is because of the scene where he uses Goku's ribs as a trampoline, and Trunks in his grade 3 form might have the face grab because the grade 3 form has the downside of restricting movement so they made him grab the opponent instead of stomping them down to show Trunks isn't able to be as agile as he was before.
20's not fully robotic... but he may as well be. Basically, Gero's android body, Android 20, is controlled via a brain in a jar - Gero's brain in a jar - rather than an on-board computer.
there's a lot of small details in Sparking Zero, details that the devs could just throw the hat and not add in the game because it would be too much work, and they still did it anyway. it's what i hear everyone saying here on brazil, it's always the same thing and there's no other way to describe this game "Sparking Zero is a love letter to the fans"
Side note I still love that Hirudegan is(as far as I know) the only giant to allow SS3 Goku's rush ultimate which I find to be an awesome reference to the movie.
I feel with Majin Buus headbutt form of a lightning attack speaks to his child like mind and personality. Since most of the cannon headbutts i remember are done by children, it makes some sense.
if i remember right, god ki can't be felt by everyone (like, you have to be at a certain level to feel it in the first place), so my guess is that god ki characters are easily lost like androids... but they can still see you
i dont think th anti grav mechanic needs to be patched out of the characters themselves, i just think in general sparking zero needs to fix some of its core gameplay issues with how exploitable alot of them are.
Something else that's really interesting is how the lightning attack actually interact with the pursuit system. See, you can actually vanish attack after landing a lightning attack if you're high enough in the air. Try using a more powerful character who has lots of pursuits and just do an up or straight knockback around the top of the screen, then do lightning attack, and bam. I genuinely use 2 lightning attacks to bring people down from the sky and this works really well with the burst dash combo with triangle and then circle. I've tried doing dragon dashes to pursue but I don't think such a harsh angle is liked by the game, nor have I even bothered to lab this, I just remember discovering it on accident, meaning it's not *strictly* a combo ender, but an extension based on positioning.
In budokai tenkaichi 3 ss1 vegito and bardock bleed. And if I remember correctly dbz broly also does. Playing bt3 I realized that difrent characters have unique speeches or interactions like Dbz broly vs mid goku and the interactions only happen when specific combos are landed
I wonder if people ever saw that you take damage from being launched into destructible objects in the game, granted the damage is extremely subtle at best but I still love that little fact
I mean the scouters vs high powerlevels would actually be an insane detail if there was atleast some kind of animation for it instead of it just vanishing
One of my favorite details about sparking zero is when you begin powering up after blocking a beam attack or there's any kind of smoke in front of you. The cloud of smoke sits there in front of you, but as soon as you start powering up, they made it so that the physics of your aura push the clouds (and any other small particles) away from you. These guys blow minds with their attention to detail
I wish that when you finish off your opponent with the candy beam you would eat them and recover some health it would make sense and it could be a finisher like how Mid SS Goku has a finisher screen when using the Angry Kamehameha wave.

Also I hopefully they make the characters have more emotions it's so weird seeing SS2 teen Gohan smile at the camera in interduction when he's facing a villain he should show more anger. So hopefully they give them more emotions to when facing certain opponents.
Just like in Freeza's battle against Goku, you can use Freeza 100% Form to dash through beams, with his ability Nova Strike I made a video on it on my channel, but I didn't test on everything. For what I did, the results were: Nova Strike: Pierces Kamehameha Pierces Galick Gun Get hit by Final Flash Pierces Big Bang Kamehameha Get hit by Stardust Blast Clashes with Rush Supers (which I believe wasn't a thing in BT3) Pierces Instant Rushes (the ones where they teleport to your face before the animation begins) I also tested with a modded Vegeta for funzies. The results were Freeza got hit by Ultra Galick Gun (maybe because the modder used a recolored Final Flash, and it retained the properties of Final Flash?) Pierces Gamma Burst Flash My conclusion is that it loses to beams that are way above Freeza's level, such as Final Flash or blast attacks that behave differently, such as Stardust Blaster, but It needs further testing, which I do not have the patience to do You may take this task if you want another topic for future videos
12:11 Z Broly shouldve had that special lightning attack animation. he does it in Second Coming against Goten, Trunks and Gohan, and he has a similar animation in Raging Blast for his rush super (and in tenkaichi i think)
Seems pretty strange that Z Broly doesn’t have the same lightening attack as DBS Broly, considering he is also a grappler type character. Not to mention, devs could’ve used his fight against Gohan from the 2nd Broly movie as a reference.
Maybe the reason bulky ssj grade 3 trunks has the face slam is because of his rage while fighting cell? The reason broly from super can do it is because he's ruthless but the main reason he's ruthless is his rage. Maybe because trunks has Rage too while fighting cell because vegeta got knocked out because of his own fault and problems and he felt angry at cell and himself? Idk I'm just speculating lol.

There's a good one on the world tournament stage. If ring out is enabled and the ring is destroyed enough to level with the grass outside the ring, you step on that bit of the ring and it counts as a ring out.

Hey KaDazee, I don't know if you'll ever return to secrets in tenkaichi games, but I found something out. Sometimes curtain moves will do less damage to certain characters. For example: Majin Vegeta's 'Final Explosion' Does around 19k to Babidi, but does only around 16-17k to Dabura.

Here’s a fun fact If you go sparking mode with kid gohan he gets massive buffs to all of his stats compared to other characters (not including his instant sparking). Pretty sure it’s a reference to the whole angry=stronger thing gohan had on namek
I don't know if this is told in the game's tutorial but it's pretty well known that giants have a hard time fighting characters who are grounded. If you hold down and press the attack button in melee range the giant character will aim downwards
4:28 I think for 18’s case, despite being partially artificial. She still us organic components right? Perhaps with the time she spent with Krillin, she was able to learn how to sense Ki from him, which also explains why she was able to control her force the second time she hit the punching machine
Since you were touching energy sensing, another interesting fact is that, MUI Goku can lock on no matter the distance, I remember testing that for myself

That's actually a very big deal if true, I wouldn't call it useless. It's not practical, sure. But potentially useful in very specific scenarios

I found that recently too i was destroying buildings as giant slug and curving the mouth beam. Its so cool

So, apparently, two new things are coming to Sparking! ZERO that fans have been asking for for months now. One is that transformations are supposedly separate on the character select screen now. And 2nd, there's supposedly splitscreen on more stages (there was a screenshot of it on the World Tournament stage).

The scouter break mechanic also has a few other things related to DP. if a character with a scouter faces a character with a DP higher than 7, the scouter will break right at rhe start of the match. Also, since frieza has a new gen scouter, it's more resistent and doesn't break when a character under 6 DP goes into sparking.
P.S. the numbers might be wrong since I haven't really tested the limits of scouters myself

I love Sparking Zero; it's a fun game. But while playing, I found something interesting while grinding for Porunga Dragon Balls. I was playing as UI Goku and used my Instant Sparking. We all know it takes a few seconds to activate. The CPU Broly, who was already in Sparking mode, used his ultimate. As soon as UI Goku's Sparking finally activated, the energy burst blocked the ultimate; I'm guessing it is a timing thing.
One interesting thing i want you to test in Sparking zero is the requiriment to destroy namek
1- It seems in general, that the requiriment for a ultimate to destroy namek, is that it has to be a beam and that the character using the beam is a character with high power level.
2- All ultimates that are a big ball of energy seem to destroy namek regardless of the power level of the character but for some reason spirit bomb never destroys the planet, even though goku in the show always tell for everyone to get out of the way.
3- Normally rush ultimates like dragon fist or around the character type moves like bulky trunks's explosive wave or majin vegeta's final explosion don't destroy namek, but fpr some reason daima goku(the pre order dlc character) ultimate, despite being a rush ultimate does destroy the planet.
You have to land an ultimate and not kill the opponent with it I think
Im surprised they still didnt make the candy beams from the buus actually have them eat the opponent if it finishes them off. It just looks so silly to turn them into candy, kick them, and somehow they turn back on their own after that lol.

My favorite detail from Sparking Zero so far are giant grab clashes, either with 2 giants or a giant and a regular sized character. I haven't seen anyone mention or showcase it yet and it looks so cool.
The destruction mechanic only working for dash-attacks I believe is not due to any shockwaves (don't really see any shockwaves, especially not compared to any other blocks from attacks), but looks much more like it's simply because dash-attacks will push the opponent backwards. So block a dash-attack would still push you backwards, and I doubt it would have the same effect on the enviroment if the attack didn't push them towards the destructable enviroment.
I was looking for this comment, I'm fairly certain KaDazee is aware of that fact because every example in the video has the character with their back to a wall and you can see him set it up at 16:45. I don't get why you'd lie about it tho, I mean yeah the hit to his reputability is minimal but what's he gain from that loss? He added 1 thing to inflate the list (I'm guessing), I know it's a lie, he lost some trust. I just don't really see any win there other than helping fill the video but the list is solid regardless and that entire section is less than 2 minutes long. Makes me wonder if there's a reason to hit 20 minutes and that section was so short it was dumb to have so by adding this he got to talk about the Budokai 3 opening and demonstrate it over and over to show "it only works with dash smash attack" which filled the time perfectly hence a 20:08 video but that's just a theory.

Fun fact: It seems that there are characters who automatically gain attributes when they enter Sparking Mode.
So far I've only found Kid Gohan and Base Uub.
This is probably due to the fact that they are 2 characters who become stronger when they get angry, so Sparking Mode reflects this characteristic by giving them attributes.

Okay, Hirudigarn just got so much cooler. When the game was in progress and we still believed it will come with Super characters after having advertised itself as the first super focused Dragon Ball game (shame that didn't happen) I was doubtful but hoping that ToP arena will ban flight, and that we will get some natural flight characters. So knowing there's at least 1 in the game is nice, even if it's not a character I care about, it does give him a niche to be fun

I think a reasoning why Z Broly has the standard lightning attack is because of the scene where he uses Goku's ribs as a trampoline, and Trunks in his grade 3 form might have the face grab because the grade 3 form has the downside of restricting movement so they made him grab the opponent instead of stomping them down to show Trunks isn't able to be as agile as he was before.

20's not fully robotic... but he may as well be. Basically, Gero's android body, Android 20, is controlled via a brain in a jar - Gero's brain in a jar - rather than an on-board computer.
there's a lot of small details in Sparking Zero, details that the devs could just throw the hat and not add in the game because it would be too much work, and they still did it anyway. it's what i hear everyone saying here on brazil, it's always the same thing and there's no other way to describe this game "Sparking Zero is a love letter to the fans"
Side note I still love that Hirudegan is(as far as I know) the only giant to allow SS3 Goku's rush ultimate which I find to be an awesome reference to the movie.

i dont think th anti grav mechanic needs to be patched out of the characters themselves, i just think in general sparking zero needs to fix some of its core gameplay issues with how exploitable alot of them are.
It's either patch it out/nerf it or adjust Dragon Dash so that your opponent can better hit you and vice versa.

Something else that's really interesting is how the lightning attack actually interact with the pursuit system.
See, you can actually vanish attack after landing a lightning attack if you're high enough in the air. Try using a more powerful character who has lots of pursuits and just do an up or straight knockback around the top of the screen, then do lightning attack, and bam. I genuinely use 2 lightning attacks to bring people down from the sky and this works really well with the burst dash combo with triangle and then circle.
I've tried doing dragon dashes to pursue but I don't think such a harsh angle is liked by the game, nor have I even bothered to lab this, I just remember discovering it on accident, meaning it's not *strictly* a combo ender, but an extension based on positioning.
Here's another detail both super saiyan 4 Goku and vegeta has electricity sparkling around them

In budokai tenkaichi 3 ss1 vegito and bardock bleed. And if I remember correctly dbz broly also does. Playing bt3 I realized that difrent characters have unique speeches or interactions like Dbz broly vs mid goku and the interactions only happen when specific combos are landed
Another destruction fact:
You can weave and punch the buildings when not locked onto someone or when the building is between you.
I wonder if people ever saw that you take damage from being launched into destructible objects in the game, granted the damage is extremely subtle at best but I still love that little fact

I mean the scouters vs high powerlevels would actually be an insane detail if there was atleast some kind of animation for it instead of it just vanishing
One of my favorite details about sparking zero is when you begin powering up after blocking a beam attack or there's any kind of smoke in front of you. The cloud of smoke sits there in front of you, but as soon as you start powering up, they made it so that the physics of your aura push the clouds (and any other small particles) away from you. These guys blow minds with their attention to detail

I wish that when you finish off your opponent with the candy beam you would eat them and recover some health it would make sense and it could be a finisher like how Mid SS Goku has a finisher screen when using the Angry Kamehameha wave.

Also I hopefully they make the characters have more emotions it's so weird seeing SS2 teen Gohan smile at the camera in interduction when he's facing a villain he should show more anger.

Just like in Freeza's battle against Goku, you can use Freeza 100% Form to dash through beams, with his ability Nova Strike
I made a video on it on my channel, but I didn't test on everything. For what I did, the results were:
Nova Strike:
Pierces Kamehameha
Pierces Galick Gun
Get hit by Final Flash
Pierces Big Bang Kamehameha
Get hit by Stardust Blast
Clashes with Rush Supers (which I believe wasn't a thing in BT3)
Pierces Instant Rushes (the ones where they teleport to your face before the animation begins)
I also tested with a modded Vegeta for funzies. The results were
Freeza got hit by Ultra Galick Gun (maybe because the modder used a recolored Final Flash, and it retained the properties of Final Flash?)
Pierces Gamma Burst Flash
My conclusion is that it loses to beams that are way above Freeza's level, such as Final Flash or blast attacks that behave differently, such as Stardust Blaster, but It needs further testing, which I do not have the patience to do

12:11 Z Broly shouldve had that special lightning attack animation. he does it in Second Coming against Goten, Trunks and Gohan, and he has a similar animation in Raging Blast for his rush super (and in tenkaichi i think)
Seems pretty strange that Z Broly doesn’t have the same lightening attack as DBS Broly, considering he is also a grappler type character. Not to mention, devs could’ve used his fight against Gohan from the 2nd Broly movie as a reference.
Maybe the reason bulky ssj grade 3 trunks has the face slam is because of his rage while fighting cell? The reason broly from super can do it is because he's ruthless but the main reason he's ruthless is his rage. Maybe because trunks has Rage too while fighting cell because vegeta got knocked out because of his own fault and problems and he felt angry at cell and himself? Idk I'm just speculating lol.

There's a good one on the world tournament stage. If ring out is enabled and the ring is destroyed enough to level with the grass outside the ring, you step on that bit of the ring and it counts as a ring out.

Hey KaDazee, I don't know if you'll ever return to secrets in tenkaichi games, but I found something out. Sometimes curtain moves will do less damage to certain characters. For example: Majin Vegeta's 'Final Explosion' Does around 19k to Babidi, but does only around 16-17k to Dabura.
The gaints could of did a double hammer fist for their lightning attack with Janemba doing a double hand slap instead

Also found that if you're under water you're ki is still charging low even when charging up to sparking mode
I’m not sure if you covered this but in BT3 I think they slightly weaken all characters when on the world tour stage if I’m not mistaken

If you go sparking mode with kid gohan he gets massive buffs to all of his stats compared to other characters (not including his instant sparking). Pretty sure it’s a reference to the whole angry=stronger thing gohan had on namek
I don't know if this is told in the game's tutorial but it's pretty well known that giants have a hard time fighting characters who are grounded. If you hold down and press the attack button in melee range the giant character will aim downwards

Another cool detail in SZ is if you lose sight of your opponent and shoot a ki beam you can bend the beam in the direction you turn the camera.
Since you were touching energy sensing, another interesting fact is that, MUI Goku can lock on no matter the distance, I remember testing that for myself
