Great video! I've enjoyed your Fordtechmakuloko channel enormously, but this was a great video also. I wish I had seen this when I did the same thing on a 1997 F-150.
If a stud shows no obvious way of removal without taking the hub flange off you can get away with grinding the old stud in order to remove it and then grind away a section of the securing lip on the new stud just enough that you get a flat edge to offer up and this can give you enough room to slip the new stud in. Sounds bodgy but there is still plenty of strength on what's left that you are never going to have any issues with the stud.
Ive tried this on mine with the lisle installer, it works but it never gets them pointing right it doesnt properly center them on the hub, i dont know why
Hello.....so at 7:12 point in video when mentioning splines....so those splines are NOT going into some matching grooves in the hub but rather are expanding inside smooth sided hole thereby "locking" them into place....correct? You basically stated that and I cannot see any grooves in lug holes but just for clarification.....
Question: on my 2011 Ford crownvic ex police cruiser with(with rear dis brakes) I'm changing the studs on the rear, are their a slot to remove my lug stud out behind
Putting it back I just add some washes and put the lug nut on the flat side and tighten it up with my ratchet until the back comes flush of the Bolt if you don't have a tie rod tool

Good job mate. As you observed the studs are a press fit. Therefore put a drop of oil or grease on before installing.
You're always a cut above the rest. Keep'em coming Bruddah!
I recognize that voice, the Ford man. Great job buddy, keep up the excellent work. 👍
Thank you Brian. Good job. I appreciate your videos. Have a good night.

I like the ball joint press method. Maybe banging on the studs could damage the wheel bearing which is a lot of work.
Idk, everyone hammers the studs out.
Thank you! I have some broken ones I will be replacing tomorrow!

How did the wheel fall off? Just curious.
That guy knows some stuff, kept me from scratching my head and screwing up.
Best damn tool and review in the universe thank you dammmit!!!!!!!!
My wheel came off after I got married....common law lol ...life's a bitch
Brian if you dont have the lisle tool can a old bearing be used ? because that is what the lisle tool looks like anyway
Will this work on toyota avalon.
Great video. Very informative
Do you know how much larger diameter the stud knurl should be than the hole in the axle the stud is getting pressed into? Thanks
Will a rental cordless impact from home Depot work for this?
Great video! Super informative!
Could you have used oil or grease on the stud to help the press fit?
Thats Dangerous
Nice video!

The splines are not meant to line up to anything, you are correct.

How did u fix it?
Great tips Brian, thanks for the information.

Why get rid of the wheel nut after you used it for the installation? Can’t you use it still?
No it gets chewed up
I have always used red loctite on the part of the stud that press fits into the hub. Do you not recommend this?
don't think its needed many others dont recommend
Can you provide a link to the clamp tool you show at 3:45?
This is the press tool I used- amzn.to/2sP1Ls4
Estupido RUclips, no hablo inglés y un vídeo en ingles lo pone con subtítulos en inglés, valla lógica
lol guey, calmate, seguro hay unos en español
SWEET VID 🚹 👍 👍
What's size the stud..?
Work smart, not barbaric. Unfortunately most commercial mechanics work barbaric.
Just use a cut off wheel and cut the damn stud
